If people rather wait for ages in queues than tank it shows Blizzards tank design has failed

Tank design is bad, its full of annoying stuff that pushes people away even before they try to tank, make tanking enjoyable

I doubt many people enjoy spamming iron fur, demon spikes, ignore pain and similar boring upkeep abilities. Why they are there, they are useless bloat

Why tanks have to have 80+ apm, half the tanks are in physically unhealthy apm levels, ok 1 tank would be fine for people who want to deal with hand pain when older, but half of them? and rest are on the fast side as well.

Why there are a bunch of similar longer cd defensive abilities, just de-bloat and consolidate them.

Why there are duplicate abilities, that do about the same and produce unneeded bloat
charge-shield charge
bunch of vdh sigils
spirit bomb-soul cleave

Why there are clunky designs that you have to use before you start punching faces, blood dk is annoying you have to use too many globals to start tanking, what is chi burst doing?

Skill floor on tanks is too high and pushes ppl away

All it shows is that the average gamer is a lazy coward. It’s not unique to WoW, most people can’t handle the responsibility of healing, much less tanking.

Iron fur can be macro’d into everything, demon spikes is like once every 10+ seconds cast and ignore pain is a rage dump anyway.

None of them are 80+ apm last I checked sims. Prot paladin is highest at 60-70 and if that feels too fast then u are better off going to play FFXIV with its take-a-shower-between abilities GCD.

Like what? DR is DR, mitigation is Mitigation. Kings isnt the same as using ardent.

Idk maybe because every sigil does literally different things. Sure, lets make Sigil of fire also silence every mob and disorient them thats a great idea. Soul cleave is a cleave and spirit bomb is a bomb, there’s a big difference how you use them based on souls.

Casting DRW before a pull is too hard!

I stopped tanking for PUGs while levelling, because idiot DPS try to pull the trash for me, because they don’t think I’m going fast enough, when I know how big of a pull my baby tank can handle.

Resulting in wipes.

Tanks being spammy makes perfect sense to me, you have to react to spikes of damage and a lot of the tanks rely on their self healing to survive.

I don’t see how just standing there casting a channeled ability that made you invincible would be fun either…

Though I agree the amount of set-up required on some tanks to actually start tanking is a bit excessive, notably DK, Paladin, and Druid.

Tanking is bad not due to mechanics but due to other players’ behaviour.

If players would let tanks learn then there wouldn’t be a problem.
As it is it’s a total runny yellow dog poo experience with DPS and even healers taking the lead and pulling everything.

Don’t believe me? Start a new tank that you’re not familiar with and see how far you get before you are little more than a DPS learning nothing about the spec.

Because DPS has forgot their role…

If I see a tank pulling slow I roll my eyes and carry on , I don’t need to pull for him. If anything the DPS need to learn their role. Blizzard needs to remind ppl Tanks set the pace in dungeons not the dps lol.

?
Shield charge is used as a defensive CD/CC, other one is purely engage/mobility.

Lobotomized?

Is this a bait post or wat

I chuckled at this because its so true. I mean who started the rush rush mentality in the first place. Who pulls and entire room before the group has even properly formed or in the right place let alone ready. Now the tank design has failed.

there arent many reasons to have both, they could be a choice talent replacing the other or an upgrade to existing skill.

good keybind locations are too limited to waste on all of them

That for me is a complete community issue… I like both tanking and healing, but I will not touch those roles at higher keys outside of guild / community runs…

Being told I should uninstall, being called different things, even when people die to avoidable stuff, being flamed for pulling a pack that apparantly is not part of Steves MDI path is a big no thanks.

War within queues work fine its Timewalking for whatever reason they are taking forever

I don’t think there is a huge problem with the tanking playstyle personally. I have a guardian Druid, a prot paladin and a brewmaster monk and they all play great.

Yes there is more skill and challenge involved in tanking, because you actually have to know the routes and where to go.

I think people sitting in queues for a long time just shows that people have forgotten how to properly network, make friends ingame, join gullds and act as a community.

People expect way too much from random strangers who you’ve never met before and will never meet again.

Maybe most tanks prefer to team with players they know in guild groups? Why would I join a random group for a dungeon?

I can play prot warrior perfectly fine with few binds idk what ur yapping abt

It has nothing to do with the playstyle and everything to do with the people.

I don’t want to tank because… the tank is expected to know everything and to do everything perfectly.

You don’t know how much vile people spew if a tank does even the slightest thing wrong.

It´s also a direct result of people being douchebags towards both tanks and healers for well over a decade, because not only do they not want the responsibility of tanking or healing, they don´t care to understand what it encompasses, but still have no problem opening their mouths so wide spewing their dissociated criticisms that you could get the evergiven through sideways.

I still tank and heal and never stopped, but not if there are randoms in the group, and this has been the case since before shadowlands, because I play for fun and not to deal with some clueless wannabe´s BS about not getting healed when he stands in front of a cleave with a 5 second cast or not being able to tank because he decided to cast misdirect on the healer.

Its not the responsibility, you log on a tank, check the buttons you have to use, and if you dont enjoy pressing those buttons you dont play the spec. similar with bloated healers and bunch of poisons etc. it isnt satisfying to play so why should people play them?

I’ve just leveled my alt prot paladin to 80.

Having a lot of fun with it and queue time is instant

1 more tank in the pool
