agree with the TRUE HORDE poster
You realise for starters,
That people run 8+ dungeans aand do not get loot etxept for the one you get to pick on the GV. while for an hour of play you probally get the honor iff you’'re trying to gear up through pvp because ebgs take at most 8-10 minutes.
I upvoted, but I think we need healthy combination of both. Lucky drop feels too nice to let it pass IMO, but just some bad luck protection should be applied to mitigate the bad feeling of wasted effort you will have after too long period of no such drop.
Wrath had a separate token for each ‘season’, and they took inventory space.
Cata way - JP/VP in currency tab with seasonal resets was better.
What would be the best in these days is to bring JP+VP back, and make a vendor that’d work like the residdum vendor, but with all slots instead of just 3. And breaking raid/M+ loot into JP/VP once it’s no longer needed wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
I allways like when people think you can have an opinion on everything and not be wrong.
Because: 1. You really can only have an opinion on things you know about. 2. Opinions can be stupid
Other people’s opinions, maybe. Not mine though.
Honestly think currency would help with the lack of gear drops for some people. Personally I’m fine without it but I’m trying to think of the greater good.
Make everyone get tokens from chest from m+ and a small amount off last boss in m0. Drop extra if you cleared it on time.
Allow to trade in for a piece of loot once you amass a certain amount, similar to justice/valor. Could even make it like the benthic gear and they are gear tokens that you use (more treadmill for blizz = people play longer). Have cosmetics and mounts on there for people who want to chase them.
Technically, opinions cant be right or wrong, it is just that, an opinion, impression. It is my own or yours, it is right for me.
Lets take politics, left wing vs right wing. None of it is right or wrong objectively. Subjetively, other wing is always wrong.
agreed
Ok, I am objectively wrong then.
Good to know.
What a great opening post to start a discussion.
What if the currency is tied to RNG?
Does that make RNG better than RNG?
I believe there should always be a “back up” against bad luck with rolls. You can do dungeons for a whole day and see not one drop, and what are you left with? These days, probably WQs… oops, their ilvl is fixed below yours until several weeks into the expansion and you get enough renown…
1000 Times yes
can we haf currency pls, i dont even mind if you make it so +2, +3, +4 ect have different currencies!
You are. The community is behind me on this one.
“I don’t like Korean-style grind, so I want hidden Korean-style grind to stay.”
Awww how cute
Almost made me laugh.
Hidden Korean style grind really ? As in getting most of your rewards for minimal time investment then if you want to increase your odds keep farming for more drops ?
Yeah I can definitely the hidden grind in doing one m+ a week for your weekly vault drop.
Clearly.
Personally, I like it when items feel as if they have a story and a purpose for where they were obtained and how, and while you can do this with currencies, it’s never going to be as satisfying as a straight-up dropped item.
2nd that. I mean i dont dislike this system, its far better then bfa and Legion. But wotlk was so good.
Why cant we have both of it?
I liked wotlk and bc the most: You get rng loot from every boss but you also get a currency for doing the dungeon.
Having just plain currency makes the game stale (in pve) and plain rng makes it frustrating and most of the time not rewarding.
Let’s consider three examples assuming we’re talking about 1 dungeon with 5 bosses:
#1
Full RNG (as it’s now):
You have 20% chance to get item from boss. After whole dungeon you have ~77% chance to get an item and 23% chance to get nothing.
#2 Full currency
Let’s assume 1 item requires 100 badges and each boss drops 20 badges. You have 100% chance to get 1 item after finishing dungeon. You have 0% chance to get nothing.
#3 Middle ground
Bosses have 20% chance to drop item and if they don’t you get 20 badges. After whole dungeon you have 100% chance to get item, 0% chance to get nothing.
Now I’m asking - what’s wrong with 3rd option? That was a case in TBC, WotLK, Cata and I didn’t hear anyone complaining. Just because there is no currency doesn’t mean it’s not grindy korean mmo. You still grind, you just don’t see it
