I donât like hearthstone. I only ventured in there for my mount and never darkened itâs door again.
Same with HotS, I only play that when I get a cross promotion in WoW.

It was incredibly boring when I tried it at launch. There wasnât much single player stuff and I really hate games that force me into playing vs others before I have even learned the basics.
Sure. It was definitely a very core-gameplay driven game in its early years.
But it is almost 7 years old now. I would argue that it has more going for it today. A bit like Classic WoW versus Retail WoW.
So Blizzard just needs to get more cross-promotional rewards going.
I kind of never really understood why Blizzard donât do more of that either. I would assume thereâs some potential for people to be introduced to the other games in a positive way that makes them stick around. Although I will say that the requirements for the current cross-promotional rewards are a bit annoying (like winning games as opposed to just playing).
Because you have to pay for cards to even get an even footing so itâs a big no for me. Itâs like Magic the Gathering game. Wasnât interested.
Itâs okay for those that like that and will buy card sets and all, but itâs priced out of range for myself to even get properly into it. So, no, not playing that game.
I struggled really badly with the Hearthstone one. I barely managed the tutorial. Itâs clearly not the game for me.
I have no idea if the cross promotions gain interest in the other game or not. Weâve not had one for a while. However, I nearly bought reforged for the in game mount in WoW. But Iâve resisted so far.
A wise decision.
Used to play HS a bit before. But took to long break and feels like itâs to hard to come back to it.
Cba to farm gold.
Iâm still playing solo adventures tho. While Iâm eating, waiting for something
I played this a bit. SInce I wanted get mount for wow.
So I got it when not long use hearthstone.
Exactly! Thatâs my greatest joy of Hearthstone â itâs something you can do whilst eating or watching TV or browsing the forums or such. It rarely requires full, constant attention. Great game for multi-tasking.
The concept just doesnât appeal to me. At all.
I really liked Hearthstone, but for every break I took it became impossible to catch up with the current favourable cards.
What an interesting thread idea. I have been lurking on these forums for some time and only remember three other debates about Hearthstone:
1, Jainaâs bosom (China issue)
2. Blitzchung debacle (Uh, yeahâŠ)
3 There was an expansion featuring a fight between goblins and gnomes that was deemed too expensive on this forum and the interwebs. (evil Bobby do bad)
Thatâs it. I think wow players donât go by HS lore as Iâve seen RPers opine that HOTS isnât canon, but this is just my assumption.)
My personal reasons:
Because I got burned by freecell and solitaire and trying to up my win-rate percentage, and avoid computer card games, on or offline, like the plague (RL cards are totally different, though).
Because I donât feel the need for any more lore than I need to know to understand the quests and dungeon set-ups. I prefer games like Bloodborne and Oddworld where the lore is few and far between (âthrough a glass darklyâ, if you will). I want to be in the dark with a light on my minerâs hat, so to speak.
Because when it comes to fantasy, I make up my own lore, or very rarely make up a cross-over,
Because itâs disheartening to watch someone play a card game for ten hours straight, even if itâs yourself, if you can tell that an addiction is here. Especailly as the buying the extra card-packs is PTW in some views, including mine,
Because when youâre in a funny frame of mind, you can sometimes think you can predict the next card, which is as bad as lootboxes in my view.
So, youâre welcome.Iâm going to enjoy this threadâŠ
I play HS battlegrounds, other modes are boring and/or expensive, though battlegrounds are getting old now too, honestly.
I recall a discussion for a while revolving around content creators and community profiles, drawing some comparisons between how vile and despicable the WoW YouTubers and Twitch streamers were, and how much better those of other games â like Hearthstone â were.
But other than that, yeah, I think your memory is spot on.
For sure. I think thatâs the case with a lot of games these days though, that if youâre really hooked on them, itâs almost only your willpower that stands between a game being an enjoyable hobby or past-time, and it being a terrible addiction that can almost ruin you financially and socially if you let it.
Iâve tried some other Auto Chess games, and the gameplay depth is definitely not on the levels of chess, letâs put it that way.
Blizzard will definitely have to keep adding new cards and heroes to Battlegrounds, if itâs supposed to be an interesting gameplay mode in the long term. But I reckon thatâs their plan as well, hopefully.
Im not playing hearthstone because thats just another p2w card game. And a boring one on the top of that.
I like Hearthstone alot, if actually conflicts my choices in races because it makes everything seem badass.
I play it, but the problem is that in Hearthstone any idiot can destroy you with a netdeck, which a normal original deck will never have a chance of competing with.
I donât play it because:
Those are perfectly acceptable exceptions.
i am not playing it anymore. i used to do but had to stop after the change to standard playstyle. it was too expensive to buy always new cards. i mean i spend almost 1k on that game and had to stop. Opening packs was like an addiction. Disgusting practice like lootboxes.
I have tried Heartstone for a bit, but personally i just like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon card games because i am more into their universes and animĂ© and games in general speaking. But i donât hate Heartstone, i would like it more to be honest.
