[ Important? ] Building a better AD

I think no one advocates for random reports, it is only in relation to RP being griefed

If I “hear” OOC chatter while role playing, I report
simple as

Not disagreeing there. If they are blatantly in a place where rpers will be or in range of, then they should know better and shouldn’t be doing that there

I think instead of the meme roof it should be the meme end of the skybox

So on AD realm, yes?

Soo… No one’s allowed to have an ooc convo? If you can’t see it and it’s not disruptive to anyone or in anyone’s way, you wouldn’t know or need to care about it. The moment it disrupts your rp or anyone’s then they are in the wrong place and will face the consequences of being reported for it. Simple as.

Why is it so hard to OOC chat in whisper or group or raid chat for you

If no one can see it or if it’s not in your or anyone’s way why would it matter? I could be having one right now and you wouldn’t know nor would it be impacting you.

And what if we pass by and the situation changes?

Then you do the respectful thing and move. But having some ooc near rpers on the ground in their /say range would be the mistake in the first place. Best done out of range if you have to do it. That’s what I am on about anyways.

Yeah I do not care if you have an OOC argument at the limit of the sky in game, if I never get to see it

Strangely so, that never happens and instead it is in my face all the time when I decide to leave my obscure RP place in Lordaeron
I think what you try to argue here for does not exist actually, it is only a theoretical issue

A further note, the “old” WoW RP realm rules included the no OOC rule in /s /e and even in /trade and /general

Or like… don’t do it? If you have to do an area sweep to make sure there’s no rp around you so then you could say some ooc stuff in /s then do you even need to say ooc stuff in /s in the first place?

I used to think the latter two were really weird additions, but now I realise how cool that would be - because literally nobody but RPers would want to play on a server that you have to be in-character in trade chat

Exactly my point. If it’s in your face then that’s just wrong. If it’s far out of the way from anyone and is no risk of disruption, no harm no foul.

Hopefully we will get the old rules restored one day =)

So not a roof in the busiest RP hub on the server, then? Agreed

Then read it before you comment so you avoid making yourself look like the bad guy.

If they aren’t disrupting and are out of range then it personally doesn’t bother me. But as it seems here that’s just me.

Even the OG meme roofers are turning on the meme roof I am afraid, there is nothing left to die for on that hill

Kill the meme roof

You have:

  • whisper
  • party chat
  • guild chat
  • communities (who even uses these though, LOL!)
  • battle tag
  • outside platforms (i.e. Discord)

I think you’ll live if you bring your conversations to one of several other channels and show just 1x smidgeon courtesy to your fellow roleplayer by keeping /say for IC purposes only. Reality is that this will not change anything about your conversation whatsoever, and I think unfortunately that the people who argue that they apparently NEED to chat in /say simply just don’t like others asking them to be considerate and mindful of others

It’s really a tiny ask but a big & epic show of respect to your fellow roleplaying gamer

Never use it anyway so doesn’t impact me or anyone I know regardless :joy:
