So, I had an idea and wanted to share it. Just wondering what people thought.
The idea is to have an in-game bulletin board that is accesible from every inn, in a hope to enhance the online community and find like minded people.
A lot of this has existed in some form but not all of it accesible in one place.
It would function like the auction house, as in you would interact with an NPC, but instead of listing auctions, it will list adverts.
When you create an advert it can be anything
Some examples would be
- Guild advert ‘[my great guild] We want you!’
- PvE event ‘molten core raid’ 13-09-2019 19:00 server time (similar to the calendar events but open to everyone)
- PvP event ‘Raid Stormwind’ 12-09-2019 18:00 server time (similar to the calendar events but open to everyone)
- Lonely Hearts Column ‘Female undead seeks strong orc’
- Custom Event ‘Duels outside Goldshire Inn’
- Any type of ad ‘Looking for slow and steady people to level with!’
Guild adverts can allow you define your guild.
With things like
Casual
Harcore
Semi-Hardcore
Levelling
Chatting
Age range
Classes
PvP
Raid times
Timed events PvP or PvE will work in the same way as the calendar events and allows people to sign up with their role and class.
The event leader can define roles/classes (example: No more than 5 melee) they can be as strict or free as they like.
On the date of the timed event the event leader will be allowed send out invites to all who applied and is online.
Custom events will tell you who created them and if they are online so you can contact them.
When looking for an advert you would see something like the auction house but down the left side you can chose the category you are interested in to filter them out. So if i wanted to do some dungeon I could filter on
PvE Event and then in the sub filter pick the dungeon or raid I want and see if anyone is organising a run of that dungeon.
It is not intended for quick events, so it will not alleviate the LFG in trade, but it could help bring people together and over time help us find the people we’re looking for.
