Man all these RP guilds using a RP realms forum for advertising their RP, I can’t stand it

“Yeeeesss… You’ve played right into my hands. Just as planned. Most enlightening.”

The best part about these threads is always when the OP’s act like masterminds that have pulled some galaxy brain move that we, the blind fools fell for.

The PCU number around 250 members give or take. Majority of them on the Horde.

But think about it… 250 people is no small number of roleplayers. And of course they are free to speak just as the rest of us, Without being a spokes person of the PCU and especially in a OP like the one you made here.

Compared to the old days, They are hardly a hivemind anymore, Neither here on the forums or in game. I was in there for a very brief time. But long enough to tell you that what you saw here on the forums was never a cordinated hivemind pcu thing.

Oh yeah, since all of you PCU guys are here, do you have a list of all PCU-affiliated guilds somewhere? I’d note all the guild names in the thread but I figure I’d miss a few.

@Skullstalker. Just 250 total? That’s very comforting, thanks for the information!

How’d you even know, you’ve never drank with me.

Then let me tell you. The PCU is one of the largest communities in Argent Dawn, but they mostly keep to themselves. You will definitely find them out there, but their community is so large, that it’s impossible to pin down a single “type” of player they have most of.

There are good ones, there are bad ones. The PCU doesn’t exclusively recruit uncomfortable and unkind people, but they are there.

You will most likely not naturally come across the PCU in RP, because they have their own narratives, and they tend to travel around, and RP in places where they don’t very much get into contact with a lot of people.

You will most likely run across a PCU member unknowingly, but I doubt it will ruin your day. The people demonize the PCU on this server to a ridiculous extent. There are things worthy of criticism regarding the PCU, but people take it way overboard, and start to make things up.

That causes it to become way harder to decipher what’s real and what’s fiction. It gets to the point, where people start calling each other PCU members for how they act, despite neither of them being in the PCU.

So if you have to take anything away from this, then simply don’t worry about it. The PCU are not a hate group, and they will not collectively come and attack you out of nowhere.

They’re just people, and like people, they have flaws.

Thank you, very informative!

We are everywhere
watching
listening

there is no escape

hope that helps you, OP!

please do not lie about me :+1:

Dont really know anything about the PCU or really interacted with them. Sorta after my time. Just remember when it used to be Rotgarde. Perroy’s name used to be thrown around a bunch back then, with most not seeming very fond of him to me, atleast in the circles I had contact with. Not exactly a fan of PCU standing for ‘Perroys cinematic universe’, if it had a less ego-tripy name I probably wouldnt really have any problem.

Only thing I think I know that made me scratch my head at it in the first place was the ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy on E-RP. I get degenerates are gross, but most guilds had a privacy policy telling everyone to keep that crap to themselves and in private if their characters were going to do that. Now its an ultimate no-no or something? Idunno.

The hypocrisy coming from you is astounding.

It’s just incredibly embarrassing and our guilds don’t want to be associated with it. That’s really all there is to it.

That’s fine, just seems a little monolithic. Didn’t think you’d need to stamp someone elses name or tag on things just to say to your guild members ‘Dont E-RP’. Shrug I wouldn’t call myself a puritan because I dont want people humping in the streets.

Get out of here. You made a post with the intention of getting a response to confirm your already biased view.

Don’t try to spin it any different.

Apparently we’re Sheeple now, instead of fools😔

The PCU really isn’t as bad as some critics might make it out to be. In the days of yesteryear, there were sadly a few rotten apples who sadly created the impression, but as time has gone by and people have either left or matured, I think the general attitude of the PCU has massively improved.

Of course, whilst you may feel a bit bombarded on the forums by their posts, it’s because their guilds and members are largely active on the forums compared to other guilds + players. I wouldn’t hold this against them as a negative, it’s just a fact of life. That being said, with that level of forum activity, it’s only natural that members of the PCU might respond to the tone of your OP with a defensive manner… I must admit that the thread sadly feels like something posted to cause trouble, it wouldn’t be the first time it’s been done.

They largely keep to themselves ingame, which is in line with the general theme of Horde RP being largely guild-based, but I’ve always found them to be sensible and courteous to others, especially in the modern era.
However, there are sadly many individuals who carry long grudges against the collective and outright ignore any PCU members, regardless of those members likely being uninvolved in whatever gripe that player might have. This is evident is a rather unfortunate tumblr thread.

The tag suggests they’re part of the same community.

And you shouldn’t ERP. The number of people that need a visit from Chris Hansen is higher than I’d have ever thought.

The usual sentiment about ERP nowadays is that if you’re found out to be doing it, that’s a detriment to a guild’s reputation. Basically - if nobody knows, then nobody can care. But if you’re caught, you’re being obvious enough that someone who can use this information to slate a guild/group/whatever will be equally likely to find out.

Nobody (with any sense) thinks that ERP is inherently immoral, only that doing so within the bounds of a game that hosts teenagers (read: legal minors) is the problematic part, and rightly so. Most people don’t care what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own channels – the issue is when you can’t reasonably verify that the other person is, in fact, an adult.

the joker…

The same community under one divine leader. Yeah it does suggest it from the name.

Still doesn’t address the point in why the guilds need the PCU tag for the cause of not allowing E-RP in their guilds, which is a fine thing to do and im not advocating against.

That is a very good answer honestly.
I’m mostly just confused of why rp is split between PCU and not. Never really had this kinda tag around in rp pre-legion so its weird to see as a returning player.

I wish Perroy was back with us bros…

Because it’s an in and out of game community of some 250 people that closely co-operates with one another to make cool events and interactions.

We actually started adding the tag to the forum titles by request of our loyal haters, as well as keeping a list on the main PCU forum thread, so they can steer clear of us if they so desire

If people do want to RP with us, they’re always welcome to swing by if they see us in the wild.
