someone else (me or david) finds OP choice of report curious? legit too
someone else ( puny) finds someone’s curiosity toward that inappropriate? legit too.
if it’s public we are entitled to discuss it and share our opinion about it, nothing wrong about that.

And I explained to you why people misusing the system is problematic for the whole community. Also see how that would work IRL, “oh person x is wrongfully accusing person y, while we know what really happened. Well, none of our business let’s go home”. The principle of reports not being our business is just simply wrong.

There is no misuse. The system exists for players to be able to report.
You do not get to judge what is and isn’t an appropriate report. No one cares what you deem a suitable report or not. The one who will decide is Blizzard.
So have your mock outrage and foam at the mouth because someone dared to use a report system in a totally legitimate way.

because they have to change this just because they so sensitive?
Not necessarily which is why it’s best to leave all this to Blizzard. The report is filed. They can then make a judgement. Not every report results in a flag for a rename. The name reported has to be breaking the rules.

Probably nothing has been looked at yet and it’s Blizzard’s call. But let’s just say for example sake that they do move against the name, discussing moderation decisions publicly isn’t something the staff allow generally.
Oh yes and blizzard has shown to be oh so reliable, what with the whole asmongold “krakmonkey” incident…

Reporting another player out of anger based on no legit reason, is by definition a misuse of the report button. Doesn’t matter if Blizzard deems it unworthy, it is a false use of reporting and should not be encouraged.
Misuse of the Blizzard reporting system can get you into trouble. Flagged posts are checked.
The reporting system in Overwatch is a nice example of this, a more known player there spammed the game’s report system with hacker reports that said “FU”. He got suspended for abusing the report system in anger.
Strange, the green one denies the existence of misusing the reporting system…

You are outraged someone would report a name they found offensive. A totally legitimate use of the reporting system. Now you are twisting it into a green said it is impossible to abuse the report system.
