I mean 5 years is enough time of trying to get a mount and lucky people feeling deserved of their achievement. 5 Years is a long time and every mount must be 100% drop. Every expansion has a mount drop from raids and dungeons and the list of to do keeps growing. Give some love to players.
Whilst I get the frustration, Iâve been trying to get Blazing Drake for years and Iâm not a single step closer to having it, I donât think 100% drop rate is the solution.
Every Kill should add 0.5% chance to it dropping. So 100 kills would give you 51% drop chance. Youâre so very unlikely to ever get close to 100 kills though. After 20 kills youâre on over 10% chance. So the probability of getting to 30 kills is very low.
If they really wanted to keep the rng somewhat annoying then make every kill add 0.1% chance. So 100 kills would give you 11% chance.
There are so many mounts out there for you to use, I know you want that one but still.
The only reason they keep cutting edge mounts in the game when the season is over is because players would complain that the best looking mounts in the game are unobtainable forever.
Also, try not to get it mixed up as all players do, rare mounts are not suppose to be farmed, rare mounts are suppose to drop for one lucky player, hence the low drop rate.
I dispute this claim.
They modified Dragon Soul last week to make farming it easier. 3 fights are now a little quicker and smoother. Spine is now much less frustrating.
Only reason to farm Dragon Soul is for the mounts. Plenty of posts on here and Wowhead about farming Blazing Drake (it does seem to be particularly irksome in its refusal to drop for many players).
So the devs are actively encourage this practice.
Saying that I still donât agree that the solution is 100% drop chance. But I do think some form of bad luck protection could be implemented.
You think they modified an almost 15-year old raid for the sake of players getting the mount?
They modified a 15-year old raid because they donât want players to get obsessed and spend countless of hours a week farming a 15-year old raid.
Because itâs not healthy.
"Oh youâve done Dragon Soul 600 times? Well you donât know it yet, but you still have 200 more runs to go.
Thatâs 200 weeks on one character so that makes it 4 years until you get the mount.
Not just that, some players have completed a raid 1500 times without seeing a drop.
I didnât know about the Dragon Soul changes but now that I do, Iâll be hammering that tonight. I have been after Experiment 12-b for an eternity but quit because I hated going through that every time.
Universal cosmetic currency for pve items. Pretty much equivalent of marks of honor.
Comes from all pve sources at all difficulties.
Old armor sets, weapons, raid mounts, all at vendor.
Of course some things should be more expensive (read grindy) than others.
That would stimulate players to do more of current content including open world ones instead of being alone in old raids.
World would be more alive, and players can to collect desired items without RNG.
This would be the nice middle ground.
Or maybe just 1. Some of the rare mounts drop on your first or second time of ever doing the raid but the more characters you run it on each week, the higher your chance of getting the mount that week.
These raids are absolutely supposed to be farmed - hence the skips in some raids so that people can go and have their shot at the final boss that usually drops a mount.
They are absolutely not suppose to be farmed.
Those are rare items that not many players are suppose to have, lol.
Itâs always been like that, Ashes of Alâar was not something you saw everyday during BC and when you did, you definitely noticed it.
Yes I know they can drop after one kill, thats what makes it fun, I got the Felblaze Infernal on my first ever Mythic Gulâdan kill when there are players that havenât seen it after 700 runs completed.
I kill Mythic Fyrakk 7 times a week, so Iâm all for it, Iâm just saying how it is.
Only one change will help you here.
You only need 5 Drakes to get Ultravox to join the fight now, used to be 15.
The fight on the ship after that is now a bit quicker as there is less gap between the Dragon Riders attacking.
And Spine only needs one ooze to get the fiery dudes to blow up the scales instead of nine, which is a lot easier to do.
These will help get to the end for the other two mounts.
Of course theyâre supposed to be farmed. Where are you pulling this out from? lol
Theyâve been gradually making old raids much easier to farm. It doesnât matter what youâre farming them for, but youâre farming them for something and theyâve made that easier intentionally.
I also need Blazing Drake so I run the whole thing. Itâs just that my main reason for being there is 12-b
Uhm???
The 1% drop chance makes it pretty darn obvious.
Yes, I do.
No other logical explanation. No other reason to be running Dragon Soul that many times. Especially now with Ransmog changes that means you could get all the mogs in there in a few weeks.
Lots of ways they could alleviate that.
They could remove mounts with Curve or Cutting Edge.
They could increase drop rates to 10% or 25%.
They could limit the number of runs to 1 per account per week.
Well yea, thatâs why you farm itâŚ
The logical explanation is that they donât want players to spend countless of hours running 15-year old content on repeat when there are things to do in the new expansion.
Why do you think they introduced MoP: Remix?
âThey could remove mounts with Curve or Cutting Edge.â
Yeah no, they canât, some players actually go through blood sweat and tears for that achievement.
âThey could increase drop rates to 10% or 25%.â
That would remove the entire concept of a rare item?? What?
âThey could limit the number of runs to 1 per account per week.â
You mean theyâre gonna redesign the entire raid lockout system just so you can get a rare mount?
You donât understand the concept of rare items, obviously.
I do, Iâve been around since the Burning Crusade.
13 year old content and like Gram said it is exactly what players have been asking for , for a while now its good changes and no not all mounts should be 100% drop chance if you do not enjoy the grind do not collect.
13 years doesnât make it less weird than 15 years.
Nobody cares how long youâve been around man. Thatâs like saying that because somebody is older than another person, theyâre automatically more intelligent or well-educated. Completely incorrect.
