Thoughts? Good or bad? Not enough of a increase or too much?
This is amazing news actually but!
They should make the chest give you a choice between three items.
This way we will kiss good by to Rng McRNG and actually have some agency to our progression.
ultimately it summarizes the issue with BFA (and previous expansions).
The old content is quickly trivialized and they have to artificially create new content by making Mythic+ a little harder for a bit better gear.
Creating massive spikes in power, resulting in ugly number.
But it’s completely expected. And maybe this suggests that 8.3 is getting closer.
It means mythic plus still scales with mythic raiding even with the removal of titanforging.
It’s win-win.
I made a post about this a week ago or so, im really glad they are doing this Will make M+ more fun and rewarding
I would’ve been happier if they scaled it up to +20, where +20 gives a 475 ilvl item 1-5 times a week and no more than that.
This way Mythic+ won’t give abundant gear, but still is rewarding enough for those truly dedicated.
I think that would have been way too high. That’s like expecting all mythic raiders to not get loot until the final boss.
I know it is, but that would be a compromise so Mythic raiders don’t feel like their progress is halted by M+ spammers.
+20 and above is arguably just as hard as mythic raiding, the only difference is, people spent way more time learning and doing the M+ dungeons, and if the M+ dungeons started rewarding mythic quality gear then the need to do raiding and the reward from raiding would feel redundant.
However if M+ was stuck at below mythic raiding gear level, people would feel like they could never progress.
So imo the solution is to go for a reasonably high level M+ ( +20 ) and let it reward Mythic gear one a week, this way M+ players will have an incentive and the ability to progress without getting fully decked in gear asap.
Imo it should be something like this.
+20 = 1 mythic quality item a week.
+22 = 1 more mythic quality item available ( so you get 2 items )
+24 = 1 more mythic quality item available ( so you get 3 items )
from the end of the run chest, ofc the runs have to be timed inorder to fulfil the condition to let the item drop.
This way since it’s almost impossible to sell a +20 boost, the game won’t be P2W, gear from M+ won’t be rampant, pushers and dedicated players will be rewarded and M+ players won’t feel like they are stuck in limbo unable to progress no matter what.
Ofcourse doing a +15 weekly should still reward a 475 item piece.
You are entitled to your opinion but I think that’s insanely high for mythic plus to have rewards that match Mythic.
It has to compare to the first mythic boss. I think they got it right personally.
We don’t even need M+ To progress in old times you need:
Normal dungeon>Heroic Dungeon>Normal Raid>Heroic Raid>Mythic raid.
And why broke everything and make this like this:
Normal dungeon>Heroic Dungeon>Mythic Dungeons>Mythic+>Leave game for rest of patch
I hope they balance clases around +15s aswell now.
Problem is there are usualy 2 groups, hardcore raid or m+, and now u cant get the same, im all for pushing content for better gear, dont get me wrong, but now m+15 ( which is in no way easy) will give u hc quality… Not realy sure u can compare HC raid to m+15 when it comes to difficulty,
Will see what happens to titanium amount in weekly and prices, but rn it looks like Hc raid is quite a bit more lucrative
First 3 bosses are free this raid too Xd
People regularly sell 20s wdym?
Looks like dead mythic raiding to me.
Normal are for leveling, HC are when you ding max level, M0 are when you did HC. IMHO they should merge normal/HC into dynamic like timewalking does. They have very short and low popularity timespan. One queue would help to reduce the wait time.
And yes, timespan between patches in BfA is longer than desired. If it wasn’t XMass (at least officially) 8.3 would be sooner.
Only weekly gives you mythic quality gear, +15 does not on its own. So if you do one +15 a week you will need many weeks to get every slot covered and that’s in random gear. If you are optimizing a DPS or pushing way above +15 you would require specific gear with specific secondaries and azerite traits.
Not really. Mythic guilds have their teams and will do Mythic raids as usual, likely benefiting with M+ gear but still unlikely to having it obsolete raid gear (that was the job of Benthic gear). All it takes is correct secondaries or azerite traits on the mythic gear. Pure ilvl doesn’t matter when you are optimizing performance.
That’s why I proposed that a +20 starts giving you mythic gear but only once a week.
So if you do a +20 m+ you will get a mythic item from the end of the run chest, and for the rest of the week no more mythic items will drop, the end of the week chest will still drop mythic item, meaning you will get 2 items a week, one based on the dungeon you complete, 1 based on the weekly chest.
Doing a +22 will allow 1 more mythic item to drop, meaning you get 3 mythic items, 2 from end of the run chest and 1 from weekly.
And every +2 will add 1 more item, since the highest runs are usally +24-27 this means that highest amount of items people will be able to get from M+ is 5 a week, and that’s only for a very select few, much more balanced imo and It won’t take forever to gear that way.
Or they should test the Shadowlands gear choice list during 8.3. So instead of randoms you would be able to choose from a list. Maybe even try a small choice for end-of-run?
But this is nothing new. We had this system in legion. So why is this any news lol?
It is a lot easier to get group for mythic+ that for mythic raid. And lot of hc/mythic guilds stop raiding after curve. Because gear from m+ have more choince options.
Is that seriously a question?
- Titanforging is being removed in 8.3
- Mythic plus in BfA has relied upon titanforging for higher item levels as no rewards scaled after +10 (weekly chest giving a 440 item with chance of WF/TF)
- The scale of rewards is being changed to up to a +15 to still match mythic raiding with the lack of titanforging
This means that mythic plus remains a viable alternative to mythic raiding.
