Been playing the game off and on for almost 17 years. Since Classic became a thing, I’ve exclusively been playing that (as well as the two Classic expansions, so far).
What my TBC Classic and Wrath Classic experiences have in common is that I enjoyed the initial leveling and early heroics and raids. But it soon became more of a chore than a game of wild RPG fun, which has got me interested in going back to the original state of the game, once again, where endgame (in my opinion) isn’t exclusively about high end raiding. Oh, and no arenas, because battlegrounds are obviously way superior!
Also, I prefer the slower pace of Vanilla and the “good old world” without flying mounts. Gah! I sound like an old fool…
Anyway, what I’m trying to gauge at is whether or not the ERA clusters are in a good (better?) spot than what one might expect. Because I haven’t been back there since it officially ended during the TBC Classic launch and I’m sad to say that my Wrath hype has gone way down the drain because I had a month or two off gaming and I already feel lost and in a hurry (stress) to catch up with my peers!
And I’ll also ask if you guys think Blizzard would consider releasing a fresh server for a #nochanges (although a nerf to boosting wouldn’t make me angry) Vanilla realm.
I actually wish for a complete wipe at this point. Send us all back to Vanilla and start over. It was the best time (and still is the most fun version of the game imo)
That would mean, everyone who stayed on Vanilla since TBCC release and played the game would lose everything, because now player come back and want to join?
Sorry, but that´s imho not a good idea.
Those who stayed already are the backbone all the time and kept era going.
Not everyone would stay probably if his progress would be just wiped out.
And not everyone who might come back now, will stay for long.
You can see the “success” on the Wrath fresh realms…
Furthermore, Blizzard would probably only open one PVE and one PVP realm, which would render the hardcore community homeless and the RP community.
We are tiny, but currently player come back to Celebras because it IS Celebras.
I don´t see a reason why we should lose everything (again )
How would anyone want to play again if they know complete wipe would happen in the future? Why do you want players who play Classic to lose all their progress? This is just insane.
It’s a good time to come back to era. Lot of new people leveling and starting the game. I started rerolling last week because my char got moved to WOTLK and I haven’t had any trouble doing quests or dungeons.
Probably not, as of now even the future of SoM seems uncertain.
I will express it as clear as I can: there are TONS of levelers on Era currently.
And btw. Era players do not want fresh. Fresh means rat race, patches’ meta, and the loss of all progress at the end because TBC, new fresh or whatever.
On Era you play at your own tempo. It may take you 2 or 20 months to hit Naxx, yet everything is possible here.
Done gearing one char? Here, unlimited time to gear a second!
Sounds very appealing, Bananoid! Especially the rat race bit. My concern about era was more regarding the leveling part, which is my favourite part of the game. If it was barren, I’d probably just unsub. But you got me interested.
Firemaw is the cluster to go for, I hear. Is it balanced? I’m usually quite happy to roll the underdog.
Pop wise it is pretty balanced - The Alliance seems to have the upper hand in terms of levelers and there are more 60s on horde.
In any case, I checked the AH numbers last night and we had 17k items for the Alliance and 16k for the horde so that can give you a picture of how balanced things are.
Alliance chats are more crazy I must add. Its Barrens chat all day as far as I can see lol
