yeah it would be nice to have a way to get more desirable corruptions, but at the same time they cant do this for the same reason that they couldnt give player choice with legendaries in legion, because people just instantly look up on wowhead or icyveins or where ever which their “best” is and then thats the only thing that they ever even think about getting, meaning the design work that goes into the system gets completely wasted.
what happens when someone has spent all of their hard earned currency buying a specific piece and then method stack a tank with echoing void and the tank proceeds to do like 80-90k dps and out performs multiple DPS specs and they have to nerf it, do they then have to go through and refund all of the purchases for people that now have “useless” corruption gear because they spent everything on getting what was “OP” that month?
the difficulty there is that if they added say only 17, as there are 3 per corruption currently i believe, then you would get stuck in a difficult situation of having very strict numbers on it, so say the caster sword from carapace if that was 50 corruption, and you have 45 corruption resistance, and you have 2 other pieces that are set at 20 you end up just over the cap for the thing from beyond, where as you currently have the option RNG permitting of course to have some lower corruption pieces, meaning there is more flexibility with the system
They can because as with current RNG system I am better off quitting game than going to raid with 0 corruption. We had just someone in alt raid talk how he in 1st raid was top 1-2 on overall damage, now he is on the bottom and peoplelaugh how his skill dropped in few weeks.
You would, doesn’t explain why crit damage, glimpse, and avoidance corruptions exist, as well as why the vers one procs on damage, and why we needed 2 different % hp scaling aoe corruptions, as well as infinite stars, appendage, and gushing wound.
that can easily be explained as something that would be more usable by tanks.
glimpse has a place, it might be something that is more usable by healers in general, if not for all of the healers just clammering for the damage ones as well, there is nothing wrong with the crit damage one, can be very powerful for certain specs. the % hp scaling is a bit weird, but its better than everything just having a random number applied to it, means that there is someway of playing around it, like making use of it on a tank or even a warlock as the generally will have more HP than other people
a barely noticable slow, and a little ring you have to move out of, how is that more than a slight hinderance? please explain that to me, because i have played with up to like 60 or 70 corruption and its still not much more than a slight hinderance in general
god forbid there is any form of skill expression in this game right? why would someone who is a better player have the ability to do more than others, or someone who is willing or has more time to put in effort get something for that
so if i give my opinion on the matter im lying? good lord some people on these forums are impossible to talk to,
you seem to say all the time im just giving my opinion and that means im not correct, but at the same time are completely unwilling to even budge from your point, it seems like from my point of view you are not the best of players and are therefore struggling with dealing with some of the negative affects of the corruption system that you have just decided to wholeheartedly hate them with little reason other than it being some form of negative thing,
but then if i give like 4 or 5 reasons for the titanforging system being completely horrid and it being a generally hated system over the past 2 expansions then you just give your opinion that it was fine and that seems to be the end of that point, why is it that you seem to be allowed to give your opinion and that has to be accepted but im not allowed to give mine without me just being “incorrect” all the time
I’m against both tf/wf and corruption, I fail to see how you can’t realize that what you wrote here is literally corruption too. Tf gave more player skill expression then corruption, because it only added stats which means you still need to do you rrotation properly ,also while still random it didn’t literally give you 10k dps at times. Corruption involves no skill, put on the highest simming one and mostly ignore the side effect beccause they are rarely Dangerous.
Also it’s still random and enourmous power ups for no reason other then luck, just because they can
you doesn’t make it all good. It’s Beyond stupid to overlook how unbalanced and annoying (also how much it makes deciding what items we need to keep and what not to way more hard) this system is only because it’s got an interesting drawback.
Let’s be clear the game would be 100 times better without it, i would gladily play without corruption, it’s annoying having the kamikaze add spawn during boss fight or the eye or the slow, it’s not fun and i have to or i literally deal no damage in comparison to people that put up with this.
He is the design team manager. You have to be a fool or naive to believe, that he has the overall power over the final decisions of the games devlopment. From J. Allen Brack to the Shareholder meeting of Activision-Blizzard to Kotik. Turning Ion into a scapegoat won’t fix anything.
I think The best system would be tf capped at either 5 ilvl under the next tier of content it dropped from or at that same ilvl, When you drop it it can tf BUT you also get a currency from either raid m+ or whatever (capped weekly so you don’t have to do everything just what you like) that let’s you upgrade your items. This is literally what most people want from tf, a reliable way to get it on what we want.
And you called people idiots in your other post. make up your mind.
Now you are just trolling. This is exactly problem with the game, when you cannot see it you may actually go and see what corruption is or does in raids. Otherwise you are the one with that name you just labelled those people with.
You contradict yourself so much in two posts that you are hard to figure out what you support. Skill or RNG. And when people do more damage just because of corruptions, then they are idiots as you say ?
I see.
Don’t you think that makes for a very fast gearing path though? Especially if you’re just semi-decent at doing Mythic+ dungeons, it shouldn’t be difficult to cap everything out in a matter of weeks.
To me that seems at odds with the lifespan of the content, which is meant to last for many months.
This is the idea, you can tweek the numbers to make it take less/more time as you see fit, but it’s useless to think about that, that’s for the game designer if they ever decide to implement it.
something along the lines of you need more then one week to have enough currency to upgrade something, maybe there are other ways too but this is the one that comes to mind rn.
