Introducing the Trading Post!

Well then there’s no point in arguing, since i don’t like comparing fish to battleships, or sneakers to supercars.

comparing a real life event to ingame mechanics is obviously bad faith, but I’ll bite anyway

real life events like a 1970 tournament obviously can’t be done anymore because of the venue, the year and so on AND there can only be 1 winner, that just not the case with the mage tower and challenge mode

but newsflash:
WoW seasons don’t work like world cups

the only reason stuff keeps disappearing and becomes unobtainable for players is blizzards choice, they could just as well choose not to have all of that stuff disappear and instead make the content evergreen

and even if it was a player made problem, it’s still a problem for blizz when players quit the game because they’re getting frustrated because they get gated out of rewards that they want because they weren’t alive back then

so YES, it is on blizz to fix that

it’s a stupid comparison anyway

when I have enough money, of course I’ll be pissed off as well when I can’t get the model of supercar that I want, for no reason other than the seller being like “nah, I don’t feel like it”

in the end, it’s about things I want to have because I think they look cool, I don’t care if it was hard to get back then, just add it to a similar difficulty of today’s content

It’s not, it’s a comparison that works here, because i am saying not all FOMO is the same, FOMO in my example of the sneakers vs supercar, is more real in the case of the sneakers since most people, if they wanted to, CAN scrape together the money for them, most people, CAN NOT no matter how hard they try scrape together money for the car.

So the fear of not getting something is much stronger with the things you can realistically actually get, not with the things so far out of your reality they are practically fiction. Unless you’re suffering some kind of neurosis or something.

so why are you saying that the FOMO of the people that could get the rewards if they were alive back then, is invalid?

“I’m a good player, but I’ve only been playing for 3 years and that reward is 4 years old, that sucks”
that’s textbook FOMO

I am saying that IF they could get it, and they didn’t for whatever reason, then it is invalid. We all squander opportunities, win some, lose some.

But if you never, in a million years, ever could get it, no matter if it was removed now, in a month, or in 10 years, then it’s literal brainrot to go around moping over ‘‘i never got it’’ because no matter the timeline they weren’t gonna get it in the first place. That’s my car - shoe analogy, because even if i really really really REALLY wanted a supercar, no matter if the timeline was 1, 10, 100 years, i most likely never will afford it, ever, so if i go around feeling ‘‘fomo’’ over it, it’s just neurosis.

Besides, the whole ‘‘What is someone started playing now…’’ argument refer to

yeah, the messi argument is stupid

world cup has a finite amount of winners and an obvious connection to the year

WoW has an infinite amount of players that could get the rewards and the rewards becoming unobtainable is a pure, arbitrary choice by blizzard and not in any way needed

but, let’s just agree to disagree then
I just think it’s stupid that a world first raider gets locked out of rewards because of an arbitrary time constraint and literally no reason other than “blizz said so”

This is good. I like this.

I got 50 alts but time spend them to level up not everyone cup of tea. I dont do mythic rading so for mog and gear I need to wait for next expansion.

Anyway its good change if its free and included in sub. Accountwide currency is good decision - rest depend on what they introduce in trader.

If it’s included in the sub, it’s cool.

If it’s not included in the sub or it’s made extremely time consuming to encourage purchasing some kind of ‘skip’, it’s not cool.

Bring Atiesh back. The only old world legendary that’s unobtainable. Make it right, Blizz, since you’re all at giving those shinies to ppl anyway :expressionless:

no tyraels charger hehe, i have it and i dont want anyone else to have it

Seems cool, RIP to the people who get mass reported by angry RP Guilds who target people tho (and angry pvpers )

Quite the contrary, bad faith is when you argue it should work entirely differently because “it’s a game”.

We are still humans interacting with each others, how and why we value things doesn’t suddently change just because we are in front of a screen.

Who spoke about World cups?

I spoke about Golden Globe which is a reward for being the best during a specific season.

Season rewards in WoW are literally the same but more forgiving, more people can get it than just the number one player.

Lmao, no, they can’t “just make content evergreen”, you live in a fantaisy.

As it is they barely manage to balance 8 to 10 dungeons for one M+ season properly. They can’t “just” maintain balance for MoP challenge mod, and WoD challenge mod, and so on and so forth with each expansion feature they would like to “keep evergreen”.

They would have to rework them every single expac at the very least so the content make some sense with the current gameplay.

You have no idea what you are asking for.

Players will always find reasons to quit.

Truth is, the number of people who would actually quit the game other a skin they can’t have in a game with hundreds of skins is next to zero.

Btw once again I was not talking about World cups, but about a reward that any player can eventually get if he is good enough during a football season.

Football have an infinite amount of players, in fact MUCH more than WoW will ever have.

On a specific period of time tho? WoW does have a finite amount of players too by your own logic.

The players who were active at the time.

It’s almost as if the two situations are actually the exact same thing are you are just trying to make things look specials because “it’s a game” when there is nothing special about it in any way, shape, or form.

Bring on all the card game mounts  and the salt.

I have it, and its crap - the wings look trash, I never ride it.

What’s the point?

I can somewhat understand the fuss about MoP challenge mod transmog because they look really good, but those mounts whole reason for existing and why anybody would care about them is that they are rare.

Who in their right mind would ride those atrocities otherwise?

And since we both know the answer is “nobody”, why break what gives a point to their existence?

Looks like a great idea, /clap @blizzard

I absolutely LOVE this! Please, please, please add mage tower artifact weapon skins! I want my special massive bear form. So many people missed out on those weapon appearances.

just to see the rage tbf, they dont look great in this day and age - but also again blizzard had nothing to do with making them super expensive so they are fine to bring them back
