Is all Classic realms dead now?

Just curious is Classic now fully dead?

Classic SOM is dead, but Classic ERA is working. Still low pop but population is climbing.

If you go there notice this:

Classic Era EU English servers are combined into 5 clusters. Here ranked from most to least populated:
1 - PvP servers cluster: Ashbringer, Bloodfang, Dragonfang, Earthshaker, Gandling, Golemagg, Mograine, Noggenfogger, Skullflame, and Firemaw - inhabited
2 - all 3 PvE servers - inhabited
3 - PvP cluster: with Dreadmist, Flamelash, Judgement, Razorgore, Shazzrah, Stonespine, Ten Storms, and Gehennas - quite empty
4 - RP-PvE Hydraxian Waterlords - quite empty (but the HC community is playing here)
5 - RP-PvP Zandalari Tribe - Dead.

SoM: more or less dead no matter which realm. The HC pople are still struggling along in Quel’serrar.

Log in Firemaw-PvP and go either to SW or OG in the evenings. You will see people raiding, groups forming, bgs popping etc.

WoW Classic Era is at its best moment right now, and the truth of the matter is that Wotlk has had little to no impact on our numbers.

In my opinion, we should expect our population to grow in the foreseable future as we not only are the most reliable Vanilla version of the game out there, but also the fact you do not lose progress is what makes it appealing to a lot of people - play at your own tempo.

And for those who say it sucks to be stuck in Vanilla, speak for yourselves. You had TBC and now Wotlk lol so you are long gone since

Better be stuck in Vanilla than in a WotLK queue

ebenin sirs hows it going

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I am waiting for an announcement - i assume, they will soon merge all into one realm.

I just want their final “cancel finally your sub bye”

I still hope not, I hope the chaos from Wrath scares them from trying this again.

I’m sorry to describe ZT as dead in Era, but I was the only one online when I logged in making this list one evening in July at around 19.00

I don’t know how it is now - I should maybe look and update
Depressing update: I was the only one online Allyside and my better half the only hordie. I must say it’s a dead server unfortunately.

Why on Earth should they do that? No need to break something whiuch works … So you got a point :frowning:

For sure not.
Brian Birmingham said in one interview, that they intend to continue to offer FCT away if a realm becomes too low pop.
They killed so many realms this way, they won´t stop.

And they said already, they do not plan to merge any Wrath realms (all are “healthy” now. Thanks for nothing), but they might do it again.

But I meant, connecting all realms.
All EU-Realms to one of each type (one EU PVE, one EU PVP)

Depending on when you check, you would describe era Cele as dead, too
And believe me you would regret it…

Since they killed a healthy, happy realm where the whole realm said “eehh. might you please reconsider what you intend to do”? i think they just look at numbers and don´t care about anything else.
And era realms are low pop. From their point of view it would make sense to have “two healthy realms” :unamused:

I mean look at the Wrath realms.
we have currently the weird situation on german realms, that EU - PVP player (Gehennas), german PVP Players (Venoxis) transfer to a (former) medium/friendly/comfy PVE realm (and turning it in another anonymous, unfriendly mega realm. The change in the atmosphere is already noticable).
And while the Venoxis player come to Lakeshire - US player (US PLAYER!!!) start fresh on - Venoxis.
Because the big realms in US are all locked.

In regards of realms, nothing can surprise me anymore at this point

Blizzard employee: Hold my beer.

You are scary!

takes a look over her shoulder and then decides to sit down on the server running Era Celebras

If you want to play Classic (Vanilla) the realm ‘‘Firemaw’’ (or any of the realms linked to the Firemaw cluster) is your best choice, population wise.

Wrath is a disaster.

I really looked forward to the day Wrath was released, it was the expansion I enjoyed the most. But Wrath Classic is a completely different game. Blizzard did everything to not be faithfull to the original idea, so I left the game already in pre-patch.

Classic is still true to the original, I see no point at all to destroy that.
Realms are already merged into three clusters, but apart from merging the two PvP clusters into one I don’t see what else they can do.

I don’t think I would ever be literally the only one online at 9 pm. on Celebras

Yes that merging, ‘consolitation’ call it what you like destroyed the atmosphere on several servers. HW is also suffering in Wrath. Even though a new PvE server was opened, all now four PvE realms are full, and people overflow into HW jumping, screaming, talking in abbreviations only, and with crazy names, and making scam auctions … all the worst from the ‘normal’ servers.
I sometimes meet some of the Lilien and Refugees, nice people and an oasis in the desert (Even if sometimes a bit over the RP edge for my taste  ).
We can onlu hope for the tourists ( overflow people to disappear once the hype has died down, so that we can have our quiet village back.

I fervently hope that Blizz could ghet it into their heads that this merging of servers is bad. At least for the small RP reamls.
I hope for my TAB and merge solution to find its way to Blizz somehow.

Hydraxian Waterlords (EU-RP-PVE) classic era server, horde side, currently on a mission to find more likeminded adventurers.

Even if majority of us are quite experienced with multiple versions of this game, for most of our characters the story began at the launch of the classic era servers. For more than one year this project has been an amazing journey on which we were lucky enough to attract some of the kindest, most reliable, helpful and in game knowledgeable people I have ever met in my long history of playing this game. The overall experience of playing on a low populated server, instead of making it an unpleasant endeavor, helped us create a very tight-knit group of individuals who had to cooperate with each other strongly to achieve in game goals.

Our guild philosophy is based on three principles.

  1. Building up a strong community of classic WoW enthusiasts. If you are passionate about this version of the game, if you realize that this is a place where we come for relaxation and stress-relief and if you are on top of that kind and inclusive person, we might be a perfect fit for you. People who are looking for long term projects are specifically encouraged to contact us. Friendships that were created in the game have been extended to beyond Azeroth and in some cases resulted in RL acquaintances.
  2. Doing all PvE content this game has to offer. Even more so, perfecting the content so it can be done with less people and not necessarily optimal compositions. We expect people to know or learn their roles well and encourage everyone to strive for constant improvement. We have currently done all 20 men content and have slowly transitioned into 40-person content with roughly 25 people, successfully clearing MC on multiple occasions, as well as multiple world bosses. We currently raid two days per week with one main raid night and one progress/backup/casual raid night. Our progress has been steady. By normal server standards it might be considered somewhat slow, but this makes the whole journey feel truly epic.
  3. Advocating for a healthy gaming approach. One of the unique selling points of forever classic realms is that your progress will never get invalidated. This means there is no real reason to burn out by pushing in game activities more than your time allows. Play a lot, but do it because you can, not because you need to. Having a balanced RL is what allows most of us to stay committed to this project for so long.

We are interested in, both, new and experienced players. We want to attract, both, maximum level, and fresh characters. There is no better way to get integrated into our community then by starting your fresh journey with us. Maybe you want to experience classic as it once was, maybe you never played on the red side or maybe you are an altocholic- it does not matter: If you think our philosophy is something you can identify yourself with, please reach out to us, either in game or on our discord: discord.gg/4Nsyyk6J

Thank you and kind regards from Gift of Taretha!

Will there be any future for my SoM character? I wish i could move him to Era.

Yes, you will be able to move your characters to ERA or Wrath - of your choice. We are still waiting for Blizzard to tell us when this will happen. The only thing we know is it will happen “between 11 - 13 months after launch”, which means between 16.10.2022 and 16.12.2022 …

You will once Blizz pull together their act and close down Era SoM - or you can move to Wrath C. as well if you feel like it.
