Now that is a problem why would i want an ability that i already have. but thematically is what fits my class the most.
From what Iâve seen, all 4 coventants have really ugly covenant-specific armors, so I probably wonât be using any of them anyways.
Well when it comes to mogs im really interested in the back options but there are some sets i like, unfortunetly they are not the cloth ones.
This.
Iâll go with whatever is the meta for my class at launch, I pray to RNGesus that it wont be night fae, frikken hate everything about that covenant.
Nope⌠originally I was going to but I decided to go for the best theme, maybe later on but the main is going where she fits best. Making 3 more Paladins to go to the others, where the race fits best. Might then do 4 hunters, warlocks and druids (if I like the changes).
Have you seen the raid ones for cloth? I feel really bad for not maining mage this next expansion.
To be honest it might be a bit of work but i think at this point, give the classes a choice of all 4 spells and signature abilities but reskin them depending on your Covenant.
Kyrians Summon Steward becomes a ghoul for necrolords, a gargoyle for Venthyr and a dryad for Night fae etc
Then just change the colour tint and particle effects for the class skills to match to Covenant, Red for Venthyr, Silver/Blue for Kyrian, Green for Necrolrds and sparkly blue for Nightfae and everyoneâs happy.
Sorry tho derailing topic.
I was mainly talking about the covenant ones, but i do like the plague doctor helmets, i can use bits and pieces of it but not particularly a fan of the whole thing. But we are getting class tier sets back in the future tough.
I do really like the Necrolord Plate and Cloth, so my warlock and DK will be joining them, bonus that the class skills are fine for both.
This is a huge problem with the current covenent locking, if you want all the transmogs youâre going to need 16 fully levelled characters and LOTS of spare time.
Iâm not picking my covenant based on the transmog no. But thatâs because NONE of the covenantâs armor sets appeal to me for my main. It just doesnât fit her class/spec fantasy.
Iâm a Beast Mastery hunter. I like the âadventurerâ, âexplorerâ trope. And I LOVE being a pet class and having temporary beasts coming to my aid.
So⌠Letâs look at the covenants, from my POV:
-
Kyrians. Their mail transmog is a paladin set. It really is. It doesnât fit my characterâs fantasy in the slightest (and I truly canât imagine anyone wants their hunter to look like that). The hunter ability is Resonating Arrow. Boooooring. A shot. Yawn. No thanks, I have enough of those already.
-
Necrolords. The mail set looks like a Death Knight armor. Again it completely doesnât fit my characterâs fantasy. In the slightest. Their hunter ability is Death Chakram. Yeah no, itâs basically a shot with a different animation. Again; shots are boring.
-
Venthyr. The mail set is basically âbat knightâ. The shoulders are so over the top itâs ridiculous. Hunters are NOT knights. Again, big pass. The hunter ability is Flayed Shot. ANOTHER SHOT. So. Frickinâ. Boring!
-
Night Fae. Their transmog is at least not a suit of armor, but it makes you look like a creepy druid or something. Nope. Pass. Their hunter ability is Wild Spirits. Now this spell used to say it has a chance to summon spirits beasts that hit your target for extra dmg (which sounded awesome to me - beast summon procs hell yeah), but it seems like itâs just some âlight from the skyâ that hits the affected targets. Boring.
So⌠In conclusion⌠In both abilities as well as transmog, none of the covenants offer my character something that I really want. I however, will go with Night Fae just because their overal theme fits most with my main character.
Since the announcement of those âspecial activitiesâ that decision has been more cemented;
- nothing about âthrowing a partyâ appeals to me in any shape or form. I would refuse to do it. It sounds that horrible to me.
- I donât want to fight as someone else; I rolled my character because I want to play my character (thatâs the main reason I hate vehicle battles too).
- Making your own abomination sounds kinda fun, Iâll admit but the overal aesthetic of that covenant is just sooooo ugly to me I could never spend the entirety of the expansion there for a BIG part of my play time.
- Which leaves the âgarden/planting soulsâ activity. I liked the Pandaria garden activity okay enough, so sure⌠Planting it is.
as a HC raider iâll choose by theme, as most of the people i know ingame will.
If youâre a mythic raider or push 20+ keys, youâll still need to change covenant for each boss if you want to be optimized, except for specific situations i donât think there will be a class/coven combo that will be optimal in all fights, so just go with the flowâŚ
One can hope that IF you unlock say the plate set on a Paladin for Kyrian any other classes joining that cov will get the cloth mail and leather sets unlocked automatically.
no, this just sounds wrong to me
what exactly are you seeing here? i fail to see anything special
I understand what you mean but I very much doubt thatâs how it will work.
Whatever covenant is good for pvp i will be there mogs are just cherry on the top.
I donât raid so the abilities are not a deal breaker for me. I will pick a covenant that feels right and fun, mog is a bonus.
Well im writing a Fan-fiction about my characters, about how all my characters handles the threats of Azeroth and the future threats.
So YES i will join the Covenants for their Transmog, and not so much for their Abilities!.
As Mounts & Transmogs is my End-game in WoW!
The mogs only unlock for characters BELONGING TO THAT COVENANT. This bogus locks it to max level only, as you can only join covenant once you reach lvl 60.
I HOPE at least the armor will be unlocked via achievements or something, so that youâre awarded all 4 armor types in one go, instead of farming something within the covenant on each character separately, even if you join the same covenant on all your characters.
But seeing as they said that Torghast will be used to buy transmog sets, Iâm worried that these are the sets they mentioned and weâll really need to do the entire thing 16 times to collect everything (4 covenants x 4 armor types)
The mog looks cool and suits a void elf. None of the others were something I could see my RP character wear.
