Look, I’m not one to complain usually or make a scene but this is getting out of hand. I have a wow subscription since 2005 with a break here and there, but the amount of time I’ve spent in this game is huge.
But now I’m leveling a character with herbalism and mining in deepholm and it’s just ridicilous… I can spent my entire evening reporting players cause it’s so obvious even… They are stuck everywhere, they make cornered turns…
i have even bought tokens for gold ingame, but I can imagine these botters are just playing your game for free since, you dont seem to care.
Every time I see a yellow dot on my minimap and I fly to it, some bot already landed and took the herb/deposit.
I’m wondering what you guys are trying to do about this, and even if you say nothing is been done about it, at least I know… Cause this is the worse experience in wow in a long time…

Thanks for not buying illegal gold. The other poster who made a similar post kept repeating they’d just keep buying illegal gold and didn’t understand why there was a bot/spammer epidemic on his realm lol.
Not for free, they generally use fraudulent methods or chargebacks later which costs the merchant money per charged back transaction. Its a net loss for Blizzard if they don’t timely take action.
They usually ban them but they return very quickly with almost similar names making it look like no action has been taken since they then return to the exact same spot.
In this way I’ve reported this exact advertisment spammer who promised to trade currencies between games 24 times and he came back on every new toon - my blocklist existed of all variations of the same named guy and he always stood in the same spot and talked to me in the same mannerism so I knew it was the same person commanding the spam at Classic Launch.
For example in another F2P game Valorant & League this is explained in more detail why it is so difficult:
The botting problem is prevalant in all games/MMO’s, not just WoW. If there was a solution there would be one by now.
An ex-dev that worked at Blizz:
You may suggest any methods you may think of through the ingame feedback box but it is not likely that it will be groundbreaking new suggestion.
Source.
Rofl. That´s on era realms?
Honestly, blizzard and the RMT community just need to be ashamed of themselfes.
Nah, that was when it was only Classic-60, but if you go to the dwarf start-zones on most servers after a ban-wave, you’ll see similar things.
Tell me why would they do this if the Bot can just make them more than enough money with how much time passes between banwaves? For Pete sake they even use paid Boosts just to speed things up for themselves and in classic did that ever since TBC
Also seriously the Banwaves are smart idea doesn’t work when your “target” uses that time to make freaking money. They’re great if your goal is to remove as many cheaters as possible but it does jack when the cheaters do so to earn money by RMT. If a bot user can make up for the sub and software cost in week or so then unless you ban them earlier they will come back as soon as they can. Which is why we at best have a day or two if relative peace after Banwave after which everything goes back to normal and we’re once again facing fairly obvious bots.
Over all the realms? In every potential botted zone and instance? They will be back in a minute tops, faster if they get banned quicker generally because they adjust to counteract detection methods in real time.
Over December 2023, about 270k bots were banned alone. And I don’t think that is all of them either.
If you took the time to read Kaivax’s quote they have a dedicated team dealing with this.
So according to the video you posted, it is ok that bots ruin the game for 6 month and then they alll get banned. XD?

My irl friend was banned for botting after she complained about that in trade. Better dont reveal your playable characters anywhere or you’ll get hunted
Don’t mind that dude. If you check his posts you’ll be surprised how many times he used that copy paste message
watch out, pointing that out gave me a 2day ban
did u just reply to your own alt comments?

it is visible if you prove it and you show it
Nostalrius had no issue telling everyone they banned xxxxxx amount of bots every month
They DONT use fraudient cards (maybe some use but not most of them), they buying Turkey subscriptions (its about 7$) yes its less then full price but its still money for blizz. But mostly they dont use fraudient cards. They using virtual 1-use turkey cards (to prevent chain bans by payment method) and there is no option to do chargebacks on those virtual cards. they dont have enough fraudient cards to pay for all accounts, it’s a myth that botters use fraudient cards, the FACT is that blizz still getting money from them.
You just using this myth about fraudient cards to justify blizz, but in fact, find any botting chat (there are a lot of public botting chats) and you will see that botters see the main reason of banwaves as “BLIZZ WANT MORE OUR MONEY”, and also there are a lot of services offering virtual turkey cards in botters discords (virtual doesn’t mean fraudient, it’s just prepaid anonymous card WITHOUT option of chargeback)
Yes of course there will be an act about bots. Actually Blizzard already doign that. Playing possum
The irony of whole this bot saga is that big portion of players actually benefit from bots, some even without knowing it.
Ofc, those players are not herb/mine farmers, so they like low AH prices provided by bot supply of ores and herbs.
no one is saying bots aren’t getting banned but they aren’t getting banned enough and there is not enough prevention or hurdles for bots. Also aren’t names locked to accounts for 30 days so “lastwordo” who btw has been botting at the AH for 3 weeks now still exists with no changes in the name has not been banned and is acitively botting without any drawback.

I also supply ores and herbs and I would do so more often if the prices weren’t so garbage because bots overload the AH with them.
While there is some use for bots who farm mats, AH bots have no positives.
I went to Orsis (Uldum) to farm some volatile air for my tailor stuff. I reported like 6 bots in 5 minutes. Seems to be a hot spot for them. Is so cringe to watch.
Please Saneko, do restrain yourself from copy pasting a bible saying how hard is for a manymillion company to avoid this happening.
