Is botting while multiboxing even punished?

I would love to see more frequent ban waves. They seem to be few and far between and many times the offender just seem to start up a new account.

I reported a multiboxer the other day, doing the same thing really - a few boomkins constant casting starfall and hunters spinning in circles using barrage on CD

for two days straight, they disappeared afterwards so i’m hoping they got banned for A) griefing the area, and B) automating input

we all hate m,ultiboxers, they bring nothing but grief to the game and 9/10 times they are absolutely using a program to bot in screamingly obvious ways

that’s what i mean, if they are SO obvious why there isn’t at least some GM checking at least once a day?
Have they really gone as far as not pay GM to check the game’s state on a daily routine?
i readed the excuse about the “we do ban waves all toghethere so the botters don’t realize we catched up with the programs” but honestly that’s just what it sound, an excuse, the botters are so obvious and they know that everyone know they’re botting.
Blizz either don’t want to pay for someone monitoring on a daily basis such issues or they just like to capitalize on multiboxers/botters

I don’t like to think this way but it seems as though the monetary incentive from multiboxers may slow down their ban

Why would they pay gm’s when little bobby wants another million in his sallary

50k live bots in classic and retail eu today. So their van system ineffective

i’d like to not do that too but they’re dead silent on forum and they never mention this issue in any other place, so i’d assume the truth is not far at all

i’d like to know what you’re referring to, where do you get those numbers?

All these people complaining about multiboxers fly over some random area, see multiboxers doing a stand-still farm where they aren’t bothering anybody’s progression in quests or other activities, yet for some reason it still triggers them.

While you are afking in Boralus, doing (E)RP in Goldshire, doing LFR raids and pet-battling, these guys are getting RSI from spamming their buttons the entire day to farm gold AND they enjoy it. Just go do your prefered type of gameplay and let this individual play the game the way he likes.

If these people take over entire questing areas, take over all the herbs/ores or destroy World PvP areas in current content, I can see why it would be bothersome but some random multiboxer farming a previous expansion area OR some random corner of the map for raw gold/greens/grays doesn’t seem all that interruptive to me.

If an individual wants to invest a lot of his time in keeping his subscriptions up, spend a lot of time setting up his farms and deal with the plethora of annoyances that come with making it all work properly, let them do their thing. You’re not losing gold from it, you’re not interrupted in your progression of anything, it shouldn’t affect you mentally where you get triggered but you’re all singing the same songs.

It’s all 'Meh meh Multiboxers" but when they post 1000’s of Herbs/Ores or whatever for dirt cheap you’re like “WOW I BOUGHT 1000’s OF HERBS/ORES FROM SOME IDIOT UNDERPRICING!”

Last week I was happy to come across a multiboxer team in Nazjatar and Nazmir as it made the Call to Arms quests go by very quick. So it’s not all bad

They do hinder other players gameplay so what are u on about? They hinder players questing in Suramar, Highmountain, Stormheim. I still do old worldquests and lots of times i see players who cant do their quests because of multiboxers making them unable to kill their questmobs. And tbh it just has to stop, enough is enough, away with them, its disgusting to see too. Blizzard should just make a few servers for multiboxers, and no CR. Lets see how much they will enjoy it then if they cant farm no more, or herb or whatever :smirk:

You mean places with countless of the same mobs in the entire area of the map, not just the area where they’re farming?

I do old world quests on a high pop realm and have never encountered multiboxers that hindered me doing any of the world quests. Same goes for current expansion content.

I get hindered by people from the other faction tagging mobs on a daily basis, whereas a multiboxer farming some random spot does not. You actually have to go look for them, otherwise you wouldn’t come across them in the first place.

Great idea, can we do the same for the people that complain about everything Blizzard, anything in the game that’s wrong etc etc. Just the complainers on one realm annoying the heck out of each other would be the best thing. Especially if we get some spectator mode.

yeah sorry you are wrong about it not affecting us,
all it takes is, like I mentioned before, those starfalls and barrages from the opposite faction to tag all the spawning mobs in the whole area,

you can, and multiboxers DO, literally blanket whole areas in starfalls so nobody can get anything as all mobs are instantly tagged,
I don’t and i’m sure many people don’t report multiboxers standing around or doing unobtrusive things but we ALWAYS see them camping WQs and in BGs essentially greifing the area entirely or full on ruining the PVP match from start to finish.

also to a lesser extent but still important, seeing 10 identical characters stacked on top of eachother wandering around seriously breaks immersion, looks strange and bot-like, and it likely to confuse newer players into reporting

It’s funny because the World Quest envelop quite a large area in especially Suramar.

As you can see one Multiboxer on a bridge spamming spells, yet an entire area to do my world quest where no multiboxer is, look at minimap and there’s several more areas to fly to in order to complete it. This is literally the same for EVERY single world quest in Suramar.

Other area. No multiboxers, can easily do my world quest. Seems like you have tunnel vision and upon seeing a multiboxer you immediately start frothing from the mouth.

I really don’t see a reason why this should bother anyone, I walk across so many people every single day and just go on and do my own activities. Maybe you should focus less on them and they won’t bother you as much.

you are intent on being contrarian to this issue,

you’re trying to justify yourself as inconsequential to other’s gameplay but you’re wrong and your excuses and petty jabs are ineffectual

don’t even bother trying to say you’re not a multiboxer that does this stuff,
cherry picking areas like a large part of Surumar doesn’t change the fact it’s largely griefing the area

we have complained because this is what we experience in 9/10 encounters with multiboxers,
it is at your own behest whether you wish to accept that or argue against it til you’re blue in the face

it’s a fact, it happens, enough that there are near constant threads about it, so no, it’s not just complaining for the sake of it.

why would people be complaining about it if it didn’t affect them at all?
Hint: they wouldn’t - so it IS affecting them

It is very clear that u dont do a lot of old w quests Konata, since u say they just can be done in a large area, lol, a lot of them u need specific mobs or bosses.

I know a few people that multibox from the goldmaking community, but I myself am not. I do have a second account however

Hint:
1: Blizzard announces taking away the Brutosaur from the vendor
2: People suddenly want to get 5 million gold quickly after not bothering for almost two years to get the mount.
3: People don’t want to bother with professions because too much work and thinking and decide to farm areas or herbs/ores.
4: People see multiboxers farming in spots they want to farm at or take their herbs/ores
5: Incessant complaining on the forums/Reddit/etc ensues.

Nice assumption, but actually I do and I have never been hindered by a multiboxer from doing my World Quests as these ‘mobs’ don’t spawn in the areas they farm in generally.

your logic is terrible it’s not even worth rebuking

people have always complained about this behaviour from multiboxers, it has nothing to do with people being lazy with professions or wanting the brutosaur so acting jealous

that’s purely ridiculous

Really not going to respond to you any more since u have no clue, and this is not about only worldquest, either way its no use.

those ban waves are drop in the sea, just so there could be said, they ban in waves and they do ban, dont be naive for once.

The only point where you’re correct is that they’ve always complained about multiboxing, but not with the intensity of late after the announcement and Prepatch coming closer and closer.

These people are not jealous, they’re annoyed because they know they can’t make the amount of gold they need without giving up in other areas of the game (or life).

Well, sorry that our personal experiences in-game don’t allign for you to make your theory to work.
