the reason why am asking is that somehow i got silenced on my priest account, am not spamming in any chat channel
1- i set my description in group finder " WTS Heal service xxx g "
2- i set my /dnd with same description
1 shaman bought my service for UK, absolute terrible grp we wiped many times before first boss so i left.
he whispered me " now 15 people are going to report you" , he probably asked his guildies or something
next morning i logged in and am silenced without receiving any ingame warning or even Email. dont even know silenced for how long.
appealed 3 times , same copy paste provoking reply and close my tickets.
what the hell is going on ?
cause i see some people selling tank / heal services in their description in Group finder
is it illegal ?
When you take on a job you better finish it and not ragequit midway. When you are selling a service (or really, anything else) people expect professionalism from you.
To advertise any service outside of trade is against the ToS.
"Selling in-game items and services such as carries or boosting for real money is not allowed. Organizations who offer boosting, matchmaking, escrow, or other non-traditional services, including those offered for gold are prohibited, especially those who operate across multiple realms.
Individuals and guilds selling items and profession services for gold is allowed but can only be advertised in-game through the Trade chat channel.
Individuals and guilds selling boost or assistance in raiding, dungeon, or PvP activities for gold is allowed but can only be advertised in-game through the Trade Services chat channel. Advertising for gameplay activities should be done by a WoW player-character who intends to participate in the gameplay activities. This means there should be no cross-realm advertising, and there should be no advertising from non-participating players."
I believe you are only allowed to use Trade chat for that, it could be the reason some reported you although I’d personally say it is slightly below flyhacking or botting - offences which are not punished
Advertising in Group Finder is also against the rules.
But that doesn’t mean you were silenced for breaking the rules. WOW report system is automatized, so you get silenced if enough people report you, whether you broke the rules or not. So, that is the difference between you and other people selling GDKP and boosts: they weren’t reported enough to get silenced.
If the infraction were more severe, you would have received a severe punishment, which, unlike silence, is given by GMs.
Personally, I find this automatic report system awful, but it is cheaper than hiring GMs to do the work, so Blizzard will keep it.
i am 100% sure that i haven’t advertised in any chat, i never do
which leaves 2 possibilities:
1- random people reported my Group Finder description which is less likely to happen, i have been selling for about 10 days no issues
2- the shaman buyer actually did ask the whole guild to mass report me which led to automatic silence, i saw this on Twitch clip they did it live !!!
Did you took money from him in advance? If yes that is your fault that you broke the deal. If you are willing to accept gold from anyone ebe ready to get into any group.

Well that’s a joke. What is GDKP but a service where people use gold they bought for real money to bid for items?
Maybe Blizzard should start enforcing their own rules?
You may not have, you may never have bought a WoW token in your entire life. Can you say the same for every other player?
Reading between the lines you have no need to buy anything as I would assume you organise GDKP runs - meaning you’re being showered with more gold than you can possibly spend, you have no need for WoW tokens.
You’re not supposed to sell anything through LFG, be that through the channel or the LFG-tool, your DND-msg on top of that is considered spam.
You’re supposed to sell your goodies on trade channel and nowhere else be that a rare item or your healing capacities.
But apart from the above, i think that guy with his guild caused your silenced hours.
Selling your healing and/or tanking services in game has the potential to expose you to a lot of grievers, you’re actually considered an outlaw at that point.
I mean the thing Is i can’t speak for anyone cos i simply dont know. Yes there might be some however there are also those who dont buy gold and you want such inocent people to suffer only cos of few bad apples.
Gdkp is the most fair loot system and seeing it persecuted would make me quit the game.
Nah not really, or. I was more interested in examining the hypocrisy of Blizzard’s rules - buying player services for real cash is illegal / we allow you to buy cash for player services - than anything else.
I loathe the entire ethos behind GDKP, considering it pure pay-to-win, but I have no right to stop others doing it, I’m just a random nobody on the forums, if others want to do it that’s their choice, it doesn’t really affect me.
I see your pain there and i’m sorry for that. If you can afford it you’re better off moving to a pve realm like Mirage-raceway or Pyrewood-village as to me it seems that the overcrowded mono-faction pvp realms are also overcrowded with gdkp ppl at least that’s what i get from reading these forums.
And on the mentioned realms on alliance side i know there’s also gdkp runs but they don’t dominate the realm, there’s a lot of normal runs being organized apart from guild runs and there’s also plenty of guilds needing a holy pala such as mine on MR.
I hope you’ll find a way to get your character geared up.
