Sorry if this is a stupid question but i’m genuinely stuck on what to do. I’ve just bought a steel series rival 600 mouse hoping to bind the shift and ctrl keys to the buttons on the side of the mouse in an attempt to become a better player (I really struggle to hit shift/ctrl + whatever command on my laptop). I have managed to macro the these buttons however when i open WoW it doesn’t work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Again sorry if this is a noob question but i’ve been trying to sort this for hours with no luck.
Go to your WoW keybinds, choose whatever buttons you want to rebind, and then click the relevant mouse button. Don’t set them to shift or whatever, set them to the mouse.
I know you used the mouse software to make the computer read the mouse buttons as shift, but if it’s not working in WoW, just set the WoW binds accordingly.
I’ve tried that but it doesn’t recognise that i’m pressing the mouse button. For example when I press one of the buttons on the side of the mouse + Q to set a keybind, the keybind just sets as ‘Q’. As if I haven’t pressed any button on the mouse as at all.
According to Steelseries website, the 600 features
“button key-binds and full macros on-board”
So I would suggest downloading and having a look through the Steelseries software and play around a bit.
I’ve not had a Steelseries mouse so can’t help further. But I’d imagine it has the capability to do something to this effect.
I have been using the Steel Series Engine 3 software since the start. The annoying thing is I feel like I’ve done everything right. I have macro’d buttons 4 and 5 (the thumb buttons on the side of the mouse) to shift and ctrl. The software now shows my buttons 4 and 5 as the L Shift key and the L ctrl key but when i open WoW it doesn’t seem to work.
It doesn’t seem to work at all unfortunately. I’m using a Mac version 10.14.6 if that makes a difference. Could it be possibly be a problem with my laptop?
