Is it still worth to go for tailoring stuff as mage?

Hey.

Just wondering how the spellstrike/spellfire stuff hold up going into P2.

Is it still worth going for them?

Spellfire belt is the only piece that’s still bis, but the other stuff is still decent

It’s still basically second bis, right after T5 bis. Might as well get it since mats are now dirt cheap.

It’ll make it easier getting into a raid to get T5 also, so, yeah.

Spellstrike was never worth going for as a mage in TBC classic.

Yes T4 with CSD sims slightly better, but you can get Spellstrike the moment you hit 70, while T4 can take months of Kara/Gruul. So “never worth going for” is a gross exaggeration. If you want to completely minmax your gear you can eventually replace spellstrike with T4 more like.

Do you also consider eternium runed blade worth getting then? Or are you just desperately trying to defend your waste of gold?

Very much depends. It is slightly better than the alternatives for fire, and your raid will want at least one fire mage if your warlocks are playing fire

You can absolutely go SMV head and one of the legs from HC dungeons into T4, that’s perfectly fine. I just think Spellstrike/spellfire as you hit 70 is a massive power spike for a relatively moderate incestment. Unlike the runed blade. We are talking about gearing a person right now, not on week 1 of tbc. Spellcloth goes for 35g right now, fires for 25, mights for under 100. If ever there was a time to get tailoring stuff with guilt-free conscience, it’s now. And you can wear it streight into T5, not farm Gruul/Kara like I said.

At that point the you will also want to play horde.

You do realise that it varies quite a lot from server to server? Spellstrike is also significantly more expensive (since you need two pieces) and easier to replace than Eternium runed blade.

If you are suggesting he skips Gruul and Kara it’s all the more reason to get Eternium runed blade.

Nicolay, I think you need to check your spelling of “investment”.

Freudian slip? xD

That is actually a very good point. If OP can spare another 1000g, the blade is a reasonable investment. You convinced me :stuck_out_tongue:

If only there were an easy way to get gold…

Got any goood gold-making tips?

What??? Gold is so easy to make people are literally sitting on thousands and thousands, you can easily make 300 per hour as a pala just farming raw gold in dungeons, Boost people as a mage, Mining, Primal farming etc. How can you say gold is hard to get? Put some effort.

I’m making so much gold in TBC that I don’t need it so I’m selling it on a site for like €12/1000g on average.

Yes, level in insances, disenchant loot, auction all you can, gain about 3k by the time you reach 70. Then do all the queats in outland for another 5k. Craft and enchant everything with own farmed mats, and send raw mats to guildies to make into whatever you need. I am now at something like 3k after buying epic flying and in full crafted gear, all enchants and gems and never raided without full consumes while never buying gold or even farming anything with an expess purpose to make gold.
And next week we are getting dailies, which is like free 200g per day just from working on the new reputations. Gigantique bags await!
Edit: if you really need to “make” gold, go sit on Throne of Kil’Jaedan in Hellfire in the middle of all the bots and just take all the hyper-spawning green fire elementals. Bots are slow, you can literally chainkill mobs with average 1 mote per 2 mobs. That’s literally 1.4g per kill with prices on ZT, listen to music or podcast and just go at it untill you have 28g Primal Fires coming out your ears.

Really? I only made 600g this week and no one seems to be buying my dig rat stew recipe.

you can get thousands of gold on instant, with just 1 deal through your CC.

On this priest I made gold transmuting Skyfire diamonds, nice pickup of gold. The rest came from doing quests in Netherstorm.

You’d be suprised how “Oblivious” some people can be to stuff that seems obvious to you.

Thought something like that would be banable
