Is it time to call the mission table a day?

I think the current version to some extent is the best one, not because it’s very interesting to do but since it truly feels 100% optional. Only negative aspect is the amount of companions you end up with and it’s quite tedious to level them.

I would understand the argument of removing it if it was something you had to do for character progression, but right now it mostly servers as a minor source of gold and materials.

The adventure/mission table always struck me as some boring, mobile gaming nonsense that was mandated by corporate heads to be shoehorned into the game together with the mobile app.

I regard it as completely wasted development time and I probably wouldn’t even notice if they took it out tomorrow.

I generate a lot of anima and materials from my table… especially with Night Fae alts. Almost no need to farm/buy materials at all any more, just for a few minutes per day and cycling the conservatory twice per week.

But I really hate that it’s possible to run yourself into a state of “I can’t do any of these missions”.

Two of my characters “went too far” on the campaign missions and have slowed to a crawl ever since due to lack of XP missions and everything being either fully impossible, or beating up my followers so badly they’re useless for the rest of the day. They just snipe the rare XP mission and just about cobble together 1000 anima per week.

Meanwhile I have 2 characters stopped doing the campaign at the 12th mission and they are fast catching up.

That is… just terrible design. For something where there are no takebacks and no guidelines and no suggestions that you’re going the wrong way, there can’t be consequences that last literal months.
