Is MoP the end?

I would gladly play through all the expansions until I can, as I had to abandon “retail” wow during WotLK.

My concern though, is that the playerbase keeps shrinking.
To me it already feels like Classic receives less and less love (resource) from the company; while we see great effort invested into SoD (meaning not just “rerelease”, but actual “innovation” with thats gross planning, implementation, QA, and so on), in Cata Classic even the most trivial bugfixes take months and they cannot handle issues properly (or, sometimes even just to answer them).
Since DS it feels like more bugs are being revealed than fixed nowadays.

I am afraid that the Classic team is understaffed, and the reason for that is that it does not enjoy business priority.

I like the theory - mentioned by others - that Blizz could go on with Classic to catch up with retail as it should not be that hard to “rerelease” content, but if the quality will follow this tendency downhill, I am not sure how long players are willing to stay. Also, maybe this “rerelease” thing was Blizz’s assumption as well like “hey, we just have to rerelease everything, right? Hire 3 juniors and let a few seniors to jump in from SoD when the house is burning, and keep milking 'em players”.

it ended today. wow is not even gonna own up to anything, ur playing a momy miilk drinker thief game. they didnt catch thethief because ever1y did dit so no1 took blame.

i got a spine and i will get banned for it. buuuubuuuu not, im not gonna play a game where u betray ur biggest audcience, imagine paying a ticket for the best band ever, linkin park, and theyngo out they spit on you and never talk about it. their cores will rot and theri busted system is already corrupted beyond saving and now it will only implode

I hope it’s the last or they have a MOP forever server because that’s where I would stay. MOP was my favourite expansion and I’ve been looking forward to going back ever since it ended. Nothing has come close to it imo.

WOD was a disaster, especially for my poor destruction warlock. It felt like a slap in the face seeing how butchered the spec was when I started WOD. I hardly ever touched my lock after that as it never really recovered. It may have done big damage in some expansions after but it was never really fun anymore. Casting while moving was a joygasm.

If there is no MOP forever server then my time will end with WOW at that point but at least I got to experience it one last time :smiling_face_with_tear:

Do u also play other classes than warlock? Do u love MOP because of how the destro lock functioned in that expansion or really for the expansion itself?

I also think for destro lock (in pvp) its MOP > WOTLK > rest…

But for every spec there is an expansion where i liked it the most. As a shadow priest (in pvp) for example, WOD is my favourite iteration of the game. Doesn´t mean that the expansion was overall the best for me. Just how playing the shadow spec felt in this expansion. So maybe you can find the right class and spec for that expansion (WOD) as well and enjoy it.

Can’t wait for Legion! What an amazing expansion that was! Really hope they do a classic Legion.

MoP Destro Lock was incredible. Especially in PvP and Rated BGs. Best times

Huh? What’s this regarding?

In MOP I found most classes to be extremely fun, but destro was my favourite. Then they got rid of the class design team for WOD and the game has been sterile ever since. /Slow golf clap for Blizz

Indeed it is.

Its not a feeling. Thats literally happening

SoD Phase 9484899 is more important for aggrend

Not necessarily understaffed but the priorities are all over the place. They put so much effort into SoD which is even more dead than Cata while completely ignoring Cata.

That theory is complete nonsense. Retail isn’t just stopping their expansions. If Blizzard doesn’t make every Classic expansion like 6 months, Classic will “catch up” in about 10 years. Who is going to play Shadowlands Classic in 6 years??

The most likely scenario is either MoP is the end of the road, or Legion. Legion is when it all started. They went full cycle.

From my experience how things were back in the day where Cata was live I don’t really remember things to be that bad as now.

I presume that the lack of resources (developers) might kind of doom the MoP to be just bad experience.

Just look at the Cata now. There are so many bugs, things that are broken. Fixes being done only to introduce more bugs. The time it takes for those things to be corrected.

Not to mention how many development shortcuts the Classic Team took just to make this version of the game work. One of them most visually visible is the Yorsahj boss encounter.

The Original Version:
The water boss stand in become black and mobs literally come up from the water into the boss without this immunity stuff and the animation looks really nice making it really immerse.

Classic Version:
When adds spawn from the Dark Ooze they just spawn above boss, fall down with being immune for like 3-5s before being active. There is no visual effects for this phase and no special animations.

Check for yourself:

So given the above, if the developers will keep doing those shortcuts they will just make the Classic MoP a really bad experience for players.
