I recently got rude message from random player. After i said i like his transmog because he asked. he randomly response with vulgarity and report. I automaticaly put ignore on him . And i wonder if this random and false reports from this people can affect account in any way ,or how blizz solving this. The thing is i dont even know if somebody for some reason dont report me in the past and if so how quantity of reports work . Hope its not like if u get specific numbers of reports your account is automaticaly punished. And is there a way to find out if u have been reported ?
Thanks
Not quite true. There’s a very recent case of this being tested.

OP is most likely fine with just one salty report, but it seems automatic suspensions based off mass reports seem to be very real and they’re apparently not easy to appeal.
If 100 people report you for false reasons and inappropriate chat you still get silenced, the review is done upon appeal.
The system also has weak spots, i will not mention them as somebody may get the idea and abuse the system, its the same with the forum report system has the same weakspot.
If you get reported by 100 people, your punishment is probably very deserved :v
If only you knew how abuse-able the report system actually is.
That’s all well and good, but 100 people is definitely deserved
This isn’t true at all. Do you just make crap up on the spur of the moment all the time?
No, it’s not that simple. Especially when there’s groups of individuals who will link posters they dislike in private discords and spam reports across multiple characters/accounts and encourage others to do the same thing as a form of weaponised harassment and abuse.
It’s more common over on the US forum but I would not be surprised to learn that it has happened here from time to time as well.
Some people have nothing but free time on their hands to find ways to exploit systems in place, especially if they’re automated systems.
I also used to get some pop up warnings on alts, not sure why, I ignored them. One result is, I speak to people less and less in random (pug) situations. I usually joke around a bit, but since we live in a sensitive era, I just keep my mouth shut. Sometimes people do it, since they blame you for a failed key or something, no idea. First time I opened a ticket, asking what this was about. Of course I got a general AI bot response, since service desks are now becoming AI bots. I gave up and didn’t care.
I do not even talk in chat usually i get warnings at times, i think people just report me on the forums, heck i believe being silenced on forums now these days also silences you in game but i may be wrong.
Been silenced a couple times on the forum, quite recently too, and it never had an effect in game. I’ve never received any in-game punishment of any kind either.
Thanks confirming so i do not have to worry about that, i actually like posting feedback on the forums, but people get very spicy at times when i have to much criticism.
I can confirm this
thanks for all response guys . Now just want ask the second part . is there a way to see if u have been reported or how much reports you recieved through years ? Im quiet curious .
No, there isn’t.
Agree, we live in sensitive times, where 1 word can bring someone cry in a corner for a week .
Ok thanks guys , I hope that we wont get banned as paying customers for some false reports. And blizz know what they are doing. I never did anything insulting at least what i remeber .So i think its chill . But still sometimes it comes to my mind , primarly in encounters with some players who just come to you with problems u didnt ask for by any means . Thanks all
You have to hit a threshold to get auto-actioned and if it’s false you can appeal. The kinds of people that fall victim to false reporting is things like people advertising in trade and a group of people mass flagging them to remove competitions. We’ve seen it in battlegrounds where whole teams will report someone and also sometimes with botters, people will try to report and find themselves being mass reported by the bots.
One report is highly unlikely to result in any action. If they were vulgar to you just report their comment and don’t engage. If a GM has to review chat logs and finds both of you were swearing at each other you will be treated the same. Some players try to bait others into writing things that could get them into trouble.
You should be fine
There is. If you live in the United Kingdom, you can put in a legal request for whatever information any given company holds on you. This extends to internal records, including those related to forum bans, reasons for removed posts and so on.
It’s called a data subject access request. It isn’t a strict guarantee that they will play ball but so long as someone is polite and civil about it there’s often little opposition. Just make certain to highlight exactly what sort of information you would like them to prioritise.
nope .you only come to know about it if an action and penalty has been imposed .
dont think data access lets you access information on forums bans or even in game bans .
