Is my account in danger because of false reports in WoW?

Thats not true at all because toxic players use the mass report to get players banned

yes, you will be banned for false reporting, that’s how the system works. You wont be able to appeal the ban, as the review is done by bots only. And it works this way because Blizz cant afford to hire people for customer support.
Before you ask ‘why’? because game is half dead and doesnt generate enough money to bother with good support service.

“I like your mog”

“how dare you! I´ve spent 20k getting this to perfection” Astarion´s voice

therefore to keep your account safe i would suggest avoid speaking in chat, participating in trading, pvp (especially rated bg) and pve activities ( especially raiding)

It does. I had to resort to it in Final Fantasy XIV. You have to be clear and concise as to exactly what you are asking for but if you are polite there is a good chance that they will provide the information.

If there is any information held on you by the company, then they have internal records to provide. It might take some digging on their part but it is there.

False reports can always be appealed if they lead to action against your account.
False reports.

I think the automatic ban also squelches you rather than outright bans you from the game, that would take a human being to review. It silences you but being silenced does restrict what you can and can’t do.

short story - yes.

all it takes is for him to tell his 3-4 buddies to report you in short time.

then you will autimaticly get infraction .

and since you cannot appeal infractions - eventually you will get couple of days ban .

do not use in game chats - only use discords.

its never worth risking your account.

in threory yes.

but you will likely get generic Ai response from bored part timer who is to busy to watch netflix on his home office job to care about reading even 1 line.

you dont have to request anything.

if you get in game ban while appealing you get examples of what you were reported for.

in my case it was like 9 lines of interupt announcements in /s .

appealed 2 times - got declined 2 times and after 2nd time i got message that any further appeals will be automaticly declined.

you cannot reason with bots so its not worth it.

Exactly i do not use trade channels or yell anything or use /say around a lot of other players just not worth it because appeals do not happen they are a myth

i see .thats good to know then

Best bet is don’t respond to them, just ignore them. Which you are entitled to do.

False reporting can be an issue, personal experience with that one, got suspended twice, a month apart. It was quite some years ago now though and it was obvious to me it wasn’t even looked into. Got them over-turned within hours though.

So it was an issue, if it’s an issue these days that’s another matter.

All it took back then was for a group of people that knew each other to cast accusations and those being accused don’t even get to answer it.

Hopefully, they reviewed their policy since then.

Its like said that you might get warning with this system if you speak alot into chat playing something like epic battlegrounds or battlegrounds or shuffles type content daily which would make you meet hundreds of people through day and some of them might out of spite make false report of something you said but if there is no way of interpret it as offensive then you can appeal it if you get any silence or whatever. One whisper with someone that say to you that he reported you out of spite is nothing to worry about if you said nothing offensive in first place :dracthyr_a1:

I’ve become quite pessimistic about the customer support after seeing people sending in ban appeals for bans they never got and the one replying just basically proved they don’t even check them because they said it has been upheld or something like that, even when the account isn’t actually banned.

Like, how can they say that when the account isn’t even banned in the first place.

No it’s not.
People are snowflakes and will report you for anything.
Do you not know what a hyperbole is?

You do realize there are thousands and thousands of hacked accounts out there that are used by scammers for all kinds of purposes, right?

100 reports from those is “justified” suspension in your mind? If so, i guess we found one of the hacked accounts used by scammers

To receive automated warning in game it doesnt even need to be anything like that, it can just be playing random epic bg or battleground over weekend and time to time say something in chat. Ppl used to be able randomly chat with each other all the time while playing AV and not receive these automated warnings. I dont know what has changed something in the system or how people report in game :dracthyr_a1:

If something i learned in life is that its always easier to remove the victim, then to remove the abusers.

Removing 1 problem versus removing 100 problems.

Their should be warnings for report system abuse, enough to scare people into not abusing it.

I can confirm that…

I play SS and people there report you for anything, even abuse system, greater community more power they have…

Once I eat chat silence, after that I wrote appeal ticket, GM checked chat , and didnt lift my ban because: on /say i wrote OM"G", and I was commenting guy who are wintrading, no rude words used there, guy didnt even seen a message but his buddies do report.

So basicly once you gather enough reports which can be abused, automated system will ban you… then you can appeal to GM to defend yourself, after you appeal GM will check your past chats, if he find any rude word there even minor one he wont lift ban…so basicly in order to lift your ban after appeal you must be saint, or not say anyhting at all, even words like OM"G" are considered offensive.
