For the 4th evening in a row, my game has to update for ages before I can run the game.
What broke?
Do you all have this daily, or are my files falling appart?
There have been certain issues recently with the game such as players being unable to zone into certain areas, problems with crossrealm trading, M+ solo exploits etc that required (emergency) patching.
This does require clients to patch often for the past few days so far.
Oh well… I guess it’s been a while since I had similar issues…
Well, I found another thread on it, and tried the suggested fix from there. We’ll see;
we had a patch and adjustments are to be expected
Ah yea, exiting and restarting the Battle.net client will often do the trick, if not restarting the PC will clear out all processes for sure and then check for new updates.
Well, this was a bit out of the ordinary. I thought it was my PC being a retard for a bit. Feeling like an endless loop of file sorting…
It might be frustrating but remember we are paying for a working game and not a broken game.
Often they have to do maintenance after a big patch or expansion.
After 45 minutes of initializing, I seem to be at 46% update… after doing the trick I linked to. It still took 10 minutes from I restarted the app tho…

Just had a lot less issues in later years, so caught off guard a bit here!
Been having trouble with these updates myself. Initializing is taking forever (up to a few hours) and when the files finally start downloading, the download speed goes down to a few kb/s around half way. Tried everything i’ve seen suggested on the topic, but nothing seems to help.
Had a Windows update the other day, so it might be related to that.
Sucks anyway.
