Is the multibox with programs allowed again?

Yesterday I found a player who stands in Silverymoon City on Brutosaurus, and there are 9-10 level 10 characters nearby (fresh accounts). I checked, he is auctioning at the same time on almost all the realms that are in the game. This cannot be done without using automation software, since all 9-10 characters log in and log in at the same second. The multiboxer doesn’t use his accounts to play, obviously, but my question is, "Is this really allowed now or not? " Is this a violation of the rules of the license agreement or not? Realme KAZZAK ( ENG layer ), Silvermoon City location. coordinates 59.48 60.55

No the rules have not changed, to report someone you suspect of cheating you can right click their name and report them in game.

Multiboxing is allowed as long as they’re not using mirroring software/hardware to mimic key presses and actions, they have to manually control each character.

So if that person is jumping between characters to use the AH he ain’t breaking any rules, unless it’s a bot.

I’ve seen him too, the English phase, war mode off. He’s been standing there for a long time

Probably a recipient bot funneling all stuff from other bots to AH.

and how many hands one person has to control so many characters ?

Alt tab through them one by one?

Being on multiple accounts is not against the rules. Only using hardware and software solutions instead of one input per account is against the rules.

I just ran here to these coordinates that you wrote, and yes, I can confirm that he logs out and logs into the game instantly on all accounts. It doesn’t seem like a fair game. by the way, the accounts are really fresh and it doesn’t look like they’re being used in any way other than multibox.

It’s a bot…

He chose a location where no one would find him, a smart guy. I sent a complaint against him earlier, but for some reason the system skips these reports and he still continues to violate TOS and sell tons of gold.

they usually take whole months to ban people, more then enough time to buy, set up and level new accounts and still make a profit before the next banwave
honestly I no longer report bots, I know they ask us too but the measures they take against them are entirely ineffective so unless they change their approach I see it as pointless and a waste of my time to type it out

To my understanding, using software that duplicates key inputs across multiple game clients is prohibited under Blizzard’s rules. However, manually alt-tabbing between clients and characters is allowed.

For example, I have two accounts, and in the past, I’ve often used one character to boost another through older dungeons and raids — usually for the purpose of twinking, collecting transmog sets, or completing achievements. In these cases, I would have my alt (the boostee) follow my main character (the booster) while I cleared the content on the main. Then I’d alt-tab between clients to loot items and, if needed, trade any Bind-on-Equip drops within the two-hour window to characters in the same group.

IP banning would be the way to go, but not entirely without its own problems

IP banning is pointless in this day because VPNs and spoofing methods have existed for a long time.

Go with Hardware ID banning instead, though this can be spoofed too.

The real question is when will we admit that AH addons that let you snipe, buyout and undercut in ultra-short timeframes are cheating?

Like if AH addons don’t make a big difference, then we can safely ban them because they don’t make a big difference.

But if they do make a big difference… we should ban them, because they make a big difference.

There isn’t a case for allowing them to remain. Multiboxing or not :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

Are we really going to ignore the fact that the author is also on a throwaway account and a classic level 10 DK pandaren, spaming in the service chat type of character?

You may not have heard the story of when a person was bullied after he began exposing bots in the game. I have no desire to get involved with large groups of bots and multiboxers. I could be the author of the theme based on my main character, but still I want to sleep peacefully.

IP can be changed but lets take another persons idea with harware ID: that depends, if the banwaves take so long and the income is so lucrative that they can afford new hardware and still make a profit, that’ll just become the new norm, the same way they just get new licenses if one of their bot accounts is banned.

And there is another option to make sure that its not as profitable which is consistant banwaves frequent enough to not let them earn their losses back in the time it takes for them to get banned again.

That’ll however require them to hire back quite a few of those quality assurance guys they fired.

These things only tend to hit the innocent, they can be spoofed or sold and then some other person is banned for no reason.
