Is the Nexus-Princess Ky'veza Suppose to be a Unfairly Cheap?

Seriously. I’ve tried like 20 times already and every time I die from a single hit!
If its not one attack, its another attack.
It doesn’t matter what level my gear is. All of her attacks are instant deaths.
And this is only the first tier!

How are you suppose to beat her?
Is this seriously how Blizzard sees a challenge? Just make every attack 1 hit kills? No strategy, no skill. Everything you done in the game doesn’t matter in this fight.

This is awful and downright insulting and unfair.
This isn’t good made challenge, this is a cheap and lazy way to make something challenging.
Its like ‘Here’s your opponent, he’s got a gun. And you have your fists. Good luck and have fun.’

I got her down to 50% health. I see her strategy. But its still lousy Mechanics.
I got more of an actual challenge from Doing a Mythic Dungeon myself than this dumb excuse for a gimmick.

Am I missing something or am I right? Is Blizzard trying to do Dark Souls, but sucking at it?

I didn’t try nemesis this season, but from what I’ve heard it seems that since Blizzard is unable to balance the classes properly to give everyone an equal challenge, they came up with an idea they they’d just make the boss one shot everyone with her abilities, thus making the fight mostly about avoiding them.

The goal is reached - every class has (mostly) an equal challenge. The downside is you don’t feel like playing this particular character matters at all.

Probably a reaction to tanks - and specifically DK tanks - “cheesing” the Underpin by just outliving the need to deal with mechanics right now. The Underpin was a horrible encounter in any way, so having a geared Blood DK to deal with the issue was a godsend last season. From what I’ve seen so far Ky’veza is the better encounter, but it throws so much stuff at you that I don’t know if I have the patience for it.

“Card” is now a prohibited word???

How is the token going to defeat Ky’veza?

She’s defeatable in regular delves since all you have to worry about is facing the clones and avoid the daggers.
In her own… well, I can’t track her well enough to get past the “find the queen among the three cards” portion of the fight, so I’m just not gonna waste my time on it.

Ive cleared the “??” mode and all i can do is give some tips about the fight… and yes its really really frustrating because you have to be super FOCUSED and LOCKED into the fight for atleast 8 mins (depending on your gear… more gear less time for you to kill the boss)

So for the massacre (the one shot ghosts) after she casts the portals, i reccomend you to move to the darker sides of the room, its always after portals so you can time it by counting… and moving quickly on the edges . Also, always count how many ghosts you face , ex: 1, 2 ,3, 4,5,6 … so you never miss one or forget one and get oneshotted. On normal its 3. on ?? difficulty its 6. (do not touch the very far side of the wall it does kill you with a shadowy debuff) … and remove anti-alizing… reason for this is you can see way better the lines aiming at you so you can face em.

On the “guess who real princess is mechanic” press alt-z to remove the UI and move your camera way back out so you can notice her perfectly where she moves.

whenever she does portals you take ALOT of dam, so its good to share a def cd there , a pot or whatever you have.

On the lines she casts , always do VERY SMALL steps left or RIGHT… and if kyveza is ontop of you (meaning you dont have a pet class to tank her) remember that the very first cast you can actually move behind her and you avoid the 1st pack of lines completly 99.9% of the times.

For powers on bran , use the shield for heal & hattarang, or the egg that gives you 20% more heal/dam/stam… (whenever you wipe, remove the battered shield curio power and re-equip it… the reason for it is after you die , you start with its debuff effect instead of its buff effect.)

Keep your personal buffs up, food buff, flask, + the food 5% primary stat from the bonefire bran puts down (yes all stack)
and on 30% hp of hers AFTER the guessing mechanic use DRUMS to put her down… (remember : always AFTER the guessing mechanic, thats your biggest free timewise room to do dam before she casts lines.)

Good luck if you guys or you op re-try it!!!
And yes it requires LOTS of patience.

I tried the first version of the Nexus-Princess, and I died about three or four times while learning the mechanics. But once you get the basics down, it’s over very quickly.

Then I had to do it a second time the following week when they introduced the quest for it. Why have a boss available one week and then add a quest requiring you to kill it the next? It was irritating, but I’m glad it’s out of the way.

As for the harder version of this boss? I’m not going to do it. I don’t have the patience for it anymore. I’m older now; I don’t have the reflexes, and I don’t want to stare at the screen without blinking to track that frustrating “hide the dice cup” mechanic in the harder version.

What’s interesting is that someone made a WeakAura to help track it, and Blizzard hotfixed it immediately because they didn’t want people to have that advantage. Yet, they still allow all kinds of other add-ons in raid content. It doesn’t make much sense.

Anyway, I do foresee this encounter being nerfed in the coming months. A lot of people won’t be able to do it, or they’ll just lose the desire to try because, compared to the previous two bosses, this one is very tough.

I also have to say—the glider airplane skin reward for this one isn’t even that good. So part of you wants to do it for the reward, but another part doesn’t because the skin looks mediocre. It really messes with your mind!

Probably means to use gold to buy boosts.

You know, actually gear up before you try challenges.

Or maybe the OP is already geared, I left war within in season 1 and dono what the ilvl is at atm

Haven’t bothered with this mess of a fight after giving it a few goes.
It’s simply not doable cause it turns into a purple mess where nothing is visible.

Blizzard really lost the plot on this one.

If you are trying her on the character you are posting then yes, you are missing something.

Your character has an ilvl between season 1 and season 2, which is somewhere in the range of 80ilvls below the ilvl you should be facing her.

This fight is designed to pose a challenge for players in 700-710 ilvl, if you fight her in 630ilvl then it stands to reason that you get slaughtered by white swing. Best thing to do is first play other aspect of the game in order to get some easy 680-700ilvl gear, and return later in the season.

The nemesis part of the whole delve system is by far the weakest and worst part of the whole delve system.

I hope they do something different in Midnight.

Bliz wanted to make a fight you can’t overgear and steamroll for once. The skill is in learning and executing the encounter.

They tried to make a class agnostic fail condition to tune solo content when they added visions and the sanity system but you all complained so much they scrapped it. So now the only way to make tanks care about making mistakes is to one shot them, and DPS too.

For mistakes to matter you either need to take damage that can’t be recovered, remove nearly all the self healing classes / delves provide, or create some other class agnostic resource that tracks and accumulates mistakes. Otherwise the fights, similar to actual delves, end up trivially easy depending on class.

Gear is only going to take you so far in a fight where every mechanic is a one-shot - unless ofc gear makes you capable of one-shotting her. Which not even mythic gear is going to let you, so I’m having a hard time seeing how that would make a difference

Depends how geared.

If you’re 700 ilvl, getting to 710 won’t make a whole lot of difference. But if you’re 680 then it absolutely would.

The fight’s a test of your endurance as much as your reflexes / intuition. Doing it for 5 minutes is much easier than doing it for 10.

Depends which mechanic you die to, then. I’m never going to make it past the “find Ky’veza among the rest”-phase, which means the only way to defeat her is being able to down her before she reaches that. I find that to be unlikely regardless of gear while TWW is the current expansion.

Or you know . Stop trying to make the impossible and make different skill sets for different roles , so it is equally fun and challenging .
Like we had with Legion mage tower .

But whaaat ?!? You will need to actually spend more than 5 minutes to make a very popular mode of playing , actually fun .

Naaahh better swap on some oneshots and visual mess and call it day . Why bother actually thinking how to make the encounters fun for everyone , when you can just make sure they are UNFUN for 99.9% of the player base and call that CHALLENGE . Because when only 0.01 % bothers to complete it , it surely was challenging .
10/10 would play again . Thanks .

I have an idea for the next Spec Agnostic Nemesis .
You need to jump over a one shot beam that randomly spawns and you have 0.02 seconds to react , 25000 times .
There is no boss . You just jump over the beam for 8 hours straight . When you complete it You get a duck mount , because you just got ducked .

Mage tower was 5x the work at least, significantly easier for the vast majority of specs, and still nowhere near balanced.

And yet it was vastly more fun for everyone than the last 2 nemesis , ever were .
