What? There are some tactics that are only available in Mythic+ (e.g. affixes). Everyone has to start from somewhere and learn. No one is running Mythic0s anymore. Mythic +2 to +7 is a good place to learn dungeon routes. It’s probably not a good place to learn your class however, I’d recommend learning the class before Mythic+ such as levelling dungeons.
This whole “go watch a video to learn tactics” is stupid, was everyone watching videos in the first week of Dragonflight… ? Of course not. They were going in and figuring out how it all works. It’s unfair to expect new players who are joining later on in the expansion to have to sit through videos on Youtube to learn something that they can just as easily pick up by playing the game.
Also - trash and boss tactics aren’t really a thing in low level mythics, nothing is really that dangerous enough that it will cause a wipe if one player of the group doesn’t know it.
Ok so “no one is running mythic0s” was an over exaggeration. But even so, most of these will take a while to fill up, at least judging by my list when I look at last created time - there’s also a lot of HoI because of the Spark of Ingenuity quest. Compared to Mythic+ there isn’t a big demand for them.
Still though the main point of my post still applies - low Mythic+ is an acceptable place to learn the dungeon and boss abilities.
It’s not. There are some individuals that are bad, but they are bad usually because they make mistakes, and put the blame on everyone else.
What i do notice though is people that go into content that they are clearly not prepared to do, and then complain about cosmic injustice when others aren’t happy and supportive of their mistakes.
Just so everything is clear i am not your friend, i didn’t consent into teaching people how to play their classes during content that i want to actually finish, and i bet a lot of people think exactly this, and that’s why they are so unwelcoming of basic mistakes.
Is that clear enough?
Like what did you think was gonna happen exactly? Oh yea you could potentially brick my key and i’m supposed to smile and pretend that i’m happy with it?
How about you people take some personal responsibility?
OP said she was fairly new so its safe to assume shes gonna be doing relitavely low keys. For low keys you dont need to watch a 40 minute guide on one dungeon. As long as you grasp the core boss mechanics you can clear low M+'s without issues. Missing interrupts on +2’s etc isnt gonna wipe your group.
How to get good without being a dead weight first? Not that we have a training dungeon with AI npc instead of real ppl where one can improve without bothering others with their lack of skill.
Normally that happens within guilds. People of like minded people that can show you the ropes. Many either don’t have the time or patience to train players in their class or spec or even mechanics. Unless forced to in wipefests.
There are a lot of players that are carried through content. But often times people assume that high gear score does not mean a skilled player.
So before going in to the larger pugs and stuff. You start somewhere or announce at the start a quick message like: First time here btw. or: new to healing.
It tends to get a more receptive approach from others.
This sounds reasonable. I usually say when I do runs with new players (some of my friends), “there are new players in the group, please be patient”.
All looks good…but no. One of them went alone to pug, wrote he’s new and was kicked. He told me he doesn’t want to do dungeons anymore. Haven’t done any after this. I think he’ll change his mind at some point. But I’ll make sure there are 3 of us so the vote kick to not pass.
There are very serious issues with toxic behavior. Some things you can’t even report (like unjustified kicking) Guilds, ingame communities are merely a small bandage on a huge wound.
