Just read the forum and see how they respond “well”, how they harass, how they bully, how they disturbe the others even if you don’t tell something to them. They are sick. I have no faith left for the lost WoW community. It won’t go any better.
Other games are waay more toxic than wow. But the toxicity we’re having now is kinda normal during an expansion launch. Mostly the returning players are causing it, dunno who they are, but they are in a hurry to burn out fast and furious.
Come back in season 2 and 3, less players, but I’ve usually have a good time in those seasons.
Yes but mostly games like league of legends and Dota2 and overwatch,CSGO etc… those games are more toxic then wow but when it comes to MMOs wow is leading in toxicity part.
The common denominator in all these games is that they are competitive games. I feel that this type of games has a higher proportion of toxic people.
What we are witnessing right now is the rise of competitive game modes in WoW, which in my opinion, increase the overall toxicity of the playerbase.
Very much agreed. To go a bit further, I’ve presumed in a previous post that having impatient and overgeared players in normal/heroic/mythic0 dungeons negates the capacity of new players to learn the game and get better, which is causing them to face M+ unprepared.
Oof i remember this when i was playing healer for the first time holy paladin and resto druid were my first choices that rush rush zero patience mentality was annoying to get past.
Yes preach my friend this is the message i am trying to convey here wow is missing the wider demographic of ppl because they are souleslly trying to steer the game in that disgusting direction wow is not ment to be an eSport period!.No MMO should be an eSport if Blizzard wants more players and money into the game.
They are developing it all wrong.Game should have it’s competitive aspect but not at the cost of it’s larger playerbase.
Let’s be completely honest here the eSports no lifers HC crowd is a loud minority these days.
Tbh i like watching eSports myself like league of legends and Smite and StarCraft 2 but i don’t play competitive myself I’m getting old and my brain cannot do it anymore i leave that to teens and gen zs to go for it.
I feel that Twitch really revolutionised gaming, as its importance in marketing practices made companies change how they would design games.
Nowadays, multiplayer (especially) games have to be entertaining, not only for the player who’s playing, but also for the audience who’s watching. The game went more and more towards this, as now we have fully endorsed races and competitions (in the form of events), aswell as game modes designed aound their entertainment potential.
This shouldn’t really be a person experience of the game lol.
Its a ‘game’ for a reason. It’s damn tab targeting MMO with extra wheels (addons) that people cant play without, and ****heads still manage to make it challenging.
They should raise monthly sub to 20€+ to filters all toxic kids and basement living asmogolds from the game.
And im pretty sure community would be much nicer.
True they are not obligated, but that’s what people usually do in MMOs - a normal person would help you if they can,if nothing else just some advice is welcome.
I mean, if someone is “pro” enough to be toxic.
Then im sure that person got some knowledge
If some would spend half the time they do whining in party chat about “bad palyers”, just actually writing some helpful stuff, PuGs would be hell of a lot more enjoyable.
wow is not not pure pvp trash. so i cant compare. but even in BALANCED games like chess apps there is no sick retards like in pugs m+ +18 keys.
and in games like warframe so mostly find chilled people…
Yes I honestly haven’t played other MMOs that much, just Dota2 and CS to satisfy my pvp hunger as I love that kind of competition.
Thing is, I don’t mind the banter in dota2, it feels much more missplaced in wow pve. And come to think of it, I think it’s on pair if not worse in wow, cause just a tiny little slip from someone, is enough to set someones toxicity on fire, even if we still +2 the key. Doesn’t make sense, and they are not even happy at the end.
In Dota2, if we win, we’re all mostly glad as a team, but in wow I’ve had dps flame the tank hard for small stuff while 2 chesting, just cause their overall could have been better with that and that pull pattern.
There is a toxicity problem in M+ but this particular point can be easily fixed by doing prior research. There are plenty of guides on YouTube that explain dungeon mechanics and they’re short digestible videos.
You shouldn’t be expecting other players to teach you the mechanics unless that was agreed when you formed the group.
short and digestable isn’t going to cut it, I had to look at Trell’s 40minute guides to actually stand a chance. If you just look at short and digestable, chances are you’re getting carried and not contributing to kicks/cc etc.
A big help would be to allow groups to pause the m+ timer, and actually telling them what to do. An example: Ruby life pools last boss. Very punishing boss if you do not drop the flamepatches on the correct side. A pause here after a wipe, to explain that you need to look at your WA that tells you which side you need to drop these on, will help a lot. If you have a tank that tanks him where he’s at, you could also tell him to tank him between pillars, and why.
A simple pause would go a long way, every other game have it but wow. Why?
The crazy thing is that it’s the least cool thing I’ve seen. When I see people acting like that online, it tells me that they wouldn’t dare in person and that’s coward [behaviour]. Nobody likes cowardly people that only act up behind their keyboards.
