It seems that Ion has given the elitists everything they asked for. There was zero input taken in the beta from casual players and everything was decided by a group of selected few that were adamant at keeping everything under a raiding barrier. That is why there is no loot in Torgast, why M+ offers inferior gear vs raiding, why leveling is a joke, why covenants don’t matter, why the prepatch is a joke, they even delayed the expansion because they cried enough and other changes that are catered to the few that have the luxury of treating this game as a job.
What is the point of playing SL if you do not raid? Alts? Not sure how this makes any business sense, maybe it was a mistake to hire as main designer somebody that in the past was the moderator of an extremely toxic forum literally called “Elitist jerks”, who knew?!?
If you agree with me, it might be time to speak up with your cash, they 100% do not care what the “normal plebs” say on these forums and instead just chat with their friends in the private channels, but if the majority of us take a stand with our wallet they will not be able to ignore the financial loss.
If Blizzard wants to restrict this game to just the 1% that raid Mythic, that’s fine, but at least stop false advertising it so we can stop paying for your product.
The only reason why you’d need dungeon gear is to raid. The question is not about Shadowlands, but the entire game - is there a point to play, if you won’t raid? Why play if you’re going to miss the best and highest production value content in the entire game? You’re going to play for 2 years running the same 8 dungeons, instead of enjoying a full blown raid released every 6 months?
To me gear isn’t a goal, it’s a means. I don’t care about ilvl, I care about what that enables me to do. In my opinion, running dungeons is completely pointless unless you intend to use that gear to raid. Running raids is rewarding on its own, but then you get gear to wipe people in pvp - even better. To me m+ is a cancer and needs to be removed, but pushing higher keys has never been a solid motivation.
I guess this is their vision of SL , everyone raids like in the past , this awesome inspiration from classic .
I never understood this type of critic u don’t have to buy or play .
Of course there is, there is infinitely more to do than just raid.
The reason why Torghast doesn’t offer loot is because it’s meant to build your legendary there.
M+ offers inferior gearing so that M+ serves as a stepping stone to Raiding while still giving great rewards through the M+ box.
Leveling is a joke because the design of leveling is outdated, not to appeal to the “elitists”.
Covenants absolutely matter lol, they are insane power gains and give nice cosmetics and lore.
Honestly you’re very out of touch if you think that’s the reason.
The Maw was unfinished.
Bugs everywhere.
Tunings nowhere near finished.
Issues with gearing progression.
Leveling unfinished.
Etc.
I don’t get your point here? Unless you mean the absurd amount of grinding people had to do in Legion and BfA in order to get to mythic progression. SL is a lot more friendly towards the players when it comes to grinding thankfully (a lot of the most important stuff is on a weekly lockout), and while I still think there are lots of issues with the systems they keep coming up with, endgame mythic raiding progression overall became more accessible.
All I read in your post is hate towards mythic raiders with the usual mentality “Mythic = toxic, no lifers”
There are many other reasons to play the game without raiding, honestly if gear is the only thing you care in this game, I feel sorry for you
My 2 cents : They don’t have interest in creating an equality in the way you gear up . It’s just a tactical advantage is putting more players where u want to put them .
Let’s say your dev team brainstorm awesome bosses in raiding , ofc u dont’ want ppl doing that much of pvp or whatever .
Still wow has a lot of ILVL wores , no offense =))) .
The reason is to stop gear trading. I don’t agree with Blizz on this one, I think the gear distribution in BFA is fine. If we had master looter, then it would be fine for dungeon gear to be weaker than raid gear. Right now, it only serves to slow down gearing through raids.
I personally use my 127 ilvl to do the quests in Durotar.
It does not matter what you personally do. What matters is that there are two main forms of competitive PvE scenarios, and both should reward equal gear.
You need to find a motivation to play beyond the gear. Pop put it well even if i don’t agree with their stance on M+, you need to ask why are you gearing?
You can gear to climb M+, see how far your gear will take you, if enjoying dungeons is what you like.
Or gear to raid.
Or PvP.
Gear is a tool to enjoy the content fully. We’ve established you don’t enjoy raiding, fair enough. Do you enjoy M+? If so what does raiding have to do with it? Why can the M+ gear not be your route into higher M+?
Because raiding offers 3 ilevels better ? Does that impact your ability to enjoy the M+? If it does, I don’t think the game being catered to raiders is the issue. The issue is you focus on the hypotheticals of the stuff you don’t enjoy and let them impact what you do.
Just ignore it. I hate arena. So in BFA I carried on like CandS didn’t exist. Yes, on some imaginary chart it hypothetically meant I wasn’t as good as I could be, but why on earth should I let that force me into something I hate, or cause me to be miserable in content I like?
One requires organizing 5 people to infinitely spam content. The other requires organizing 20-30 people to do content once a week for 3 hours. They already are not equal.
Dungeons are filler to help you fill some gaps in your gear until you can get the real pieces, which come from raids.
+15 are not even remotely comparable to mythic raid, 5 ilvl below it’s already too much. If they up the gear cap to +20 then sure, but +15 are way too easy, counting that you can also take 2 hours to clear it and still get the weekly chest
