is there actually any point in reporting AFK players in Alterac Valley?
In almost every game, I end up reporting 3–4 people who are just standing AFK in the cave or hiding somewhere on the map, doing absolutely nothing.
Despite reporting them, they stay there for the entire match without any visible consequences.
It honestly feels like the reporting system is completely useless.
Is Blizzard even enforcing participation rules at this point, or have they just completely abandoned any attempt to deal with it?
At this point, it feels like players who actually try to win are being punished, while the Cavemen collect free rewards without lifting a finger.
Has anyone ever heard of even a single player getting banned, suspended, or facing any kind of consequence for AFKing in AV?
My brain is about to explode when there aren’t enough people at Vanndar to kill him, or when Balinda wipes because Alliance shows up and you see players still napping in the cave.
Watching these people just sit there, contributing nothing, while the rest of us fight and lose because of it, is beyond frustrating.
From what I understand, the 14-day ban you are mentioning was on the US servers.
The player even said, “I definitely got the deserter buff a few times.”
In the cases I’m seeing now, the players sitting AFK don’t even get the deserter debuff before the match ends.
Just in case the problem with ppl AFKing goes both ways, and yes, ppl get banned for 7 fays for the 1st time, if enough of reports are submitted. Subsequent ban periods can be extended as far as i know up to 14 days usually. Haven’t heard of permabans for this reason.
