As many know, the alliance has it tough getting rend buff. Getting mind controlled and such by a horde, risk the biscuit on mind cap failing on a guard and then get ganked by a horde and lose your buff… Or spend 500g on some shady guy that ditches you. Gladly a lot nowadays you are allowed to pay afterwards.
There is a spot, it’s out of bounds, it is reachable by walking up on very tough terrain, jumping, fearing just to get up there. Tough job, but if you can get a summoner + 2 clickers up there. Oef that’s so nice. Cause:
If you get summoned there, you won’t get pvp flagged as alliance or horde.
It’s in the barrens (sorta? game says unknown), but Rend does drop there.
With help of /duel and /forfeit you can give anyone rend buff without activating PvP flag.
Is using this spot to create a safe place of getting rend bannable? cause you are, well exploring out of bounds territorium which you can get to reasonably easy… ish… but it’s all flat and straight walls and such, so it was not intended to be explored. I somehow can’t seem to find anything about it, but a friend said it might be bannable. But I can’t find out for what or where I can find this information.
I don’t want to risk my account, but I do get bit tired of griefing horde, searching till the end of time for you and your rend spot, Having tons rogues all over the barrens and orgrimmar just to find you and kill you when rend dropped.
Could someone help me out with this question before I venture out there and make a summon spot for rend. I want to be safe in mutiple regards ^_^.
Going out of bounds is technically bannable, they may only take action however if you take advantage of this somehow and you would be pushing your luck. For example, this player got banned for exploring quite often instead of “accidental”.
But, players camping spirit healer & my corpse constantly, probably the same person kinda becomes griefing. Probably I killed him once in world pvp or something? No idea, not searching for reasons but the camping of my body & spirit healer kinda becomes a big nuisance, often to an hour after a rend pop.
But damn, getting out of bounds is bannable, so I assume taking advantage of the no pvp zone within the barrens area (out of bounds) to get rend… Is taking advantage of it I assume. That sucks. Not gonna risk it. I guess I’ll just another alt with completely different name and just hope I won’t get camped so hard on that one.
This includes situations that may be considered dishonorable such as corpse camping or killing players well below your level. Which I already mentioned in my post above is what Blizzard considers actionable based on their ToS, which they do not.
Any outside definitions does not apply to the Blizzard platform, your opinion on griefing is not taken into account whether if GM’s will enforce the Blizzard rules.
In the past entire zones became battlefields spontaneously for weeks at end and is not considered griefing.
Well as far as I know the definition of griefing is (oxford english dictionary): In online gaming: the action or an act of deliberately spoiling other players’ enjoyment of a game by playing in a way that is intentionally disruptive and aggravating. Cf. griefer n.
Corpse camping + spirit healer camping is deliberately spoiling other players enjoyment of a game in a way that is intentionally disruptive and aggravating. Especially for hour(s).
Entire zones became battlefields spontaneously for weeks is not griefing. As it’s not an act of deliberately spoiling others players enjoyment. It’s an activity that just happens cause of the players colliding with one another what happens frequently ( like AQ opening farming pvp back in the day).
Like I do enjoy world pvp don’t get me wrong, killing one another at times, sometimes at unfortunate time. But intentionally camping corpses & spirit healers (like what in some degree at DMF buff). Yeah sure, fine that’s part of the world. Escape and be done with it, they tend to keep eyes on spirit healer / dmf buff capper. Not people that run away for 4th time reviving, you too far away.
But for the ones camping me for example, well they chase you to the ends of the world and hopefully when you log back in hours later they might not be there. That’s intentionally disrupting gameplay.
Anyway, was not a question about the specific griefing, more about getting out of bounds of the map and getting rend somewhere out of sight / eyes where pvp doesn’t toggle as alliance(&horde) and still able to get rend. But yeah won’t use that spot, cause not risking it.
