Hi, ive been playing this game on and off for the last 8 years. I cannot activate authenticator apparently because I live in Pakistan and blizzard cannot send an sms in my country (smh) i cannot have access to creating my own premade groups except for the current key that i have. Ive created multiple tickets and I have the same answer, they cant send an sms in my country so I cant have access to all features a subscription paying member gets. Btw i pay in Euros where i get to spend extra on currency conversions, I have access to all other authenticators like google, apple etc but not blizzards. This is straight up discrimination. If you cant give me the access why take my money? I continue to play the game because I have alot of friends here and I want to be still in touch with them.
You’re taking this too personal. I doubt it’s discrimination. If you can’t access to the app, it’s most likely a regulatory thing, that has nothing to do with discrimination, or even company’s decisions.
well, u can run on other authenticators or or u can just give me the codes on my email.
I’m out of the loop here; what features do you miss by not having an authenticator in use? Is SMS the only means for adding an authenticator?

Ppl in Europe playing without authenticator (because they have no smart phone for the app etc.) have the same problem, deal with it. Let one of your friends with authenticater open up the group. It’s not blizzard’s problem but that of the state you live in. Tired of ppl playing victim to get attention.
naa, not playing victim have been trying to resolve this for last 3 months and when they can easily just disable sms requirement or disable authenticator for someone because it is for the users safety and has nothign to do with blizzard. its more like your government telling u that u need to lock your doors at night otherwise we wont allow anyone to visit u.
Just be glad you can even play the game from the place you life in. Few years ago that wouldn’t have worked in the first place. Not everyone can have everything.

Why’s the SMS service not available in the country anyway? Curious why Blizzard have limited this, especially if adding an authenticator requires it.
Hopefully it’s not just something silly like “The service we used doesn’t support it,” cuz then it feels like they should probably allow adding an authenticator through other means. If you lose your account you can regain access to it, and maybe a similar avenue could be used for the authenticator…

Could be Blizzards preferred service provider cannot communicate with those in your country. There could be a host of legislative reasons from either country that prevents this or simply the two technologies are not compatible.
Best solution if you cannot make a group in LFG is to either make friends with someone that can or join a guild and have a guildie help out.
google, apple any other authenticator works fine for me.
Then the logical conclusion is the US tech is not compatible with any of the carriers in your country.

I do not agree that it’s discrimination, the issue may not even lie with Blizzard. I’m not aware of countries being excluded. Has this been confirmed in a ticket?
Sometimes the issue can lie with the phone service or something elsewhere.
