Explain to me how being able to craft PVP offset with any stat that your class needs, and even duplicate stats on rings (which was not possible before) is not pay to win(via wow token) when those materials cost like 20k gold per item (after you farmed the conquest requirement for the Heraldry).
I mean it started with the Embellishment addition in DF which became a must in PVP even for casual play, and now you allow stat variety for PVP items, but instead of giving us options to buy what stats we need from the PVP vendors, we are forced to craft those items? Need Versatility/Mastery boots ? No worries with the right amount of gold you can have it, you donât have the gold, well too bad, but that token is only 20$. This is 100% intentional and it is some sick marketing for a subscription based game.
Furthermore the PVP stats were controlled because of this limitation and it helped balancing, now god have mercy, we will see all sorts of OP builds, I donât think they can handle it.
TL;DR Blizzard added stat variety for PVP items but this âfeatureâ is only accessible through crafting. Why BIS PVP items (best stats or embellished gear) are locked behind crafting which requires farming gold/materials?

Implying itâs difficult to make gold⌠you can make 1m within the week right now with dual gathering, earned gold strictly ingame⌠er go not âP2Wâ.

Choosing stats was possible from DF S1 âŚ
PvP Items scale you can craft trash items with rank 1 mats and still be max item lvl.
Even as a pure PvP player you can earn gold by selling Blood Stones.
No problem here âŚ
You could craft PVP items from DF S1 but the PVP ILVL was low (I just double checked in-game), now in TWW you have conquest ILVL with any stat you want. When I gave the 20k example I was talking about the lowest grade materials. If you play 2 hours a day you canât possibly make 1M gold within the week. I sold bloodstones and recipes since the release and I have about 120k gold on the character on which I PVP.
no its not p2w lol
a good player with conquest gear will beat a bad player with crafted gear. you arent losing because some guy has 400 haste and you have 400 mastery lol
It is still gaining an advantage. If the players in your example had equal skill then the player with better stats (for their class) wouldâve won, no ?
I am just saying, why are we forced to craft in order to have stat variety in PVP? And please be aware, I am not talking about myself, I just observed this, saw the potential problem and raised a question on the forums to see what others think about this. If they want to add stat variety (which is a very bad idea for balancing in PVP IMO) then let us choose the stats when we buy the PVP item from the PVP Vendor. Why is this âfeatureâ limited only for crafting?
the chances of getting into a fight where 2 players perform the exact same actions, have the exact same uptime and get the exact same number of procs while getting the exact same number of dispels and heals and help from their team and it all coming down to the 400 haste vs 400 mastery is so low a number that iâd wager its on par with winning the lottery.
its not p2w.
and its not even that much money. just do the gold wqs on the map, pick flowers and mine ores, turn your honour into bloodstones to sell and buy the cheap crafting materials. this is at most 75k per character for the whole season. i have 70,000g worth of bloodstones in my bags just from doing bgs for the past 3 days and looting war chests and so on.
Yes but in the past 3 days you played wow full time. The majority of the playerbase work full time.
If your question is:
âDo I have to have to play the game to get the 0.33% gem sockets and 1% crafting pieces?â
then the answer is yes. If you still want these increases but donât want to play the game, you can buy gold with the WoWToken and enjoy your character that is slightly better than someone elses, who will immediately stomp you into the ground because they know the game better than you and 1% increases do not matter at all in any context outside of like tight enrage PvE encounters.
If you PvP, you get so much gold from selling Vicious BLoodstones, that it pays for your embelished gear.

Really? I am talking about predatory marketing and ulterior motives for locking this feature behind crafting and you are talking about âskill issuesâ? And itâs not even only about the new crafted PVP gear, it is also about Enchantments and Embellished items, which are affecting negatively PVP experience for the casual player. It is not pay to win, it is pay to progress faster via wow token, which is still pay to win.

i really need you to understand the concept âyou dont need it.â
you dont need the tier 3 enchant. you wont do anything with it. the tier 2 is fine.
you donât need to change your boots from haste to mastery. you wonât notice the difference.
the âpredatory marketingâ is in your head. log off for a day and see how much it bothers you that you donât have the tier 3 enchant. Spoiler - it wonât, at all. You wonât even think about it.
relax and play the game, or donât.
And why exactly are we forced to farm honor to sell Bloodstones on AH to get gold to craft Embellished gear? PVP should be self sufficient, you get honor/conquest and you buy the items from the vendor, and thatâs it. If this seems fine to you then okay, but it feels wrong to me.
it is lol
people made millions selling bloodstones. i was a slow poke so i only made about 400k.
you arenât. i promise you you will not die if you dont put on the embellishment gear. you have the Leeches seal of authority as a long time gamer that your heart will continue to beat and your lungs will continue to hold oxygen even if you donât farm honour for gold
Itâs maybe pay to win a little faster but as you can obtain that amount of gold in game in a relatively short period, it isnât strictly P2W.
Nah, you get honor passively from doing PvP. No need to farm anything.
I played all DF season up to elite at 2.4k - the crafted gear had the same itemlvl as conquest gear in PvP because you used conquest trophies to craft them - it is the same system as now - but without the need for the PvE sparc.
Its still a MMO, farm some gold its part of the game. The costs are not astronomical and you pay them once per season.
Scratching gold together was part of this game since its release. No need to buy tokens.
Money literally lies on the ground. Disturbed earth, herbs, ores, fish and treasure chests.
Or play the AH.
Thank you for the answers, I am frustrated since Blizzard added the token into the shop and I dislike that they keep making it easier to get items with better stats by using gold, instead of these items being available directly in the PVP vendors. I agree that it is a MMO and that you can farm but they should not give the easy way out if you swipe your card, I dislike this in a MMO that has a subscription system already in place, it is plain greedy. Maybe for PVP is not that big of a deal, having more of a specific stat may not impact PVP that much, in the guides I donât see people using the crafted stats too much, but I still see a problem with it, maybe not now but in the future, I still think that some classes may take an advantage if they stack a certain stat.
Regarding being to craft PVP offset items with various stats in DF, except for embellished gear which had conquest ilvl scaling for PVP, you could not craft AFAIK pvp gear (e.g draconic combatant) with more than 502 ilvl pvp scaling which was less than the honor gear ilvl. Maybe I am wrong, except for the embellished gear I did not craft any PVP gear last expansion, but I checked twice in game crafting order on DF gear and I canât add conquest sparks to them to increase PVP ilvl. If that was possible then I am sorry for the confusion, but it still doesnât disprove my point.
The developers should just add items with all stats variety directly in the PVP vendors. I just wanted to see what other people think about this, it looks like other people donât have an issue, which is just sad, but it is what it is. If people will keep eating the bullsh*t that Blizzard gives them and support them while doing it then the game will keep getting worse and worse.
