I’m here to share with you the psychological pain I’m experiencing as you are the most relevant people that can understand me.
I’ve been farming a mount called voitalon for quite a while using the “class trial on different CRZ servers” methodology… and yesterday (Tuesday night) I found an Edge of Reality portal.
I quickly took a picture and approached it as fast as I could. I spammed right click while I was in range. The portal disappeared, and the dungeon-enqueue sound played. Although I didn’t enter a queue at all… And 24 hours later, I haven’t received a mail from Khadgar with my mount either.
I’ve opened a ticket and a GM informed me that it was “working as intended” as “class trials can no longer farm rare mounts”. However, being a member of the WoW Secret Finding community for quite a while, I know for a fact that voidtalon is completely farmable by trials.
Sooo let’s try to figure out what happened:
Option 1: Bugged out?
Option 2: GM was right (I doubt it)
Option 3: The dungeon enqueue sound played in my mind as I had 150bmp heart rate at that moment and the portal despawned 1ms before clicking it.
Also, I would like someone to confirm that voidtalon is still farmable by trials as the whole situation has made me kinda paranoid.
TLDR: I saw an Edge of Reality, I clicked on it (I suppose) but never got the mount.
Yea, i’ve done it recently as well. On 19 April 2019 to be exact (less than 2 months ago) while on a class trial character. I did have the fully functioning queue + instance pop.

Ironically, when it comes to the Edge of Reality, you’re kinda forced to use class trials. Not because of the usual reasons of being able to farm it on some dead RP realm (although that helps too), but because characters that have actually quested in the area don’t have access to many of the portal spawn locations anymore, (probably due to the areas phasing i assume, but i can’t remember for sure).
The queue bugging out when you click a portal is a fairly common thing, but that usually should result in the mount ending up in your mailbox, so you were def right to make a ticket. I too believe support is misinformed in this particular case, unless it is a very recent change.
Yes indeed, but that bug has been in there since WoD release most likely, so it being fixed at this point is both unlikely and, to be fair, kinda too late to matter.
I also can’t really see a reason for them to “nerf” class trials in this way at this point. That is unless there is some widespread exploiting going on or the like that i haven’t been made aware off.
Class trials have various limitations, the support person is right about that, but afaik they mostly apply to not being able to farm instance mounts (like say invincible) not outdoor stuff like this.
