It’s the end of Warcraft

So…is it?

So far we have;

A new talent tree system (don’t trust Blizz with this one bit) which will no doubt end up the cookie cutter bs we have now with stupid choices…

A UI overhaul! Amazing! Not like we don’t have a gazillion add ons for this that do it better.

Low effort new race!

Low effort new zone!

Customisable dragon mounts. Yippee.

Still gutless classes with certain specs suffering more than others. No sign of fixes.

Ion has confirmed they want to bring covenants over. Oh joy. Don’t spill the beans too soon, dragonflights will be the new covs.

No news about heirlooms or alts.

No news on curbing addons such as Gladius, recount/details, and call out ones.

No news about levelling - if we’re forced to do SL every time we want to hit the new max level.

No news about an effort to create a decent approach for not only solo players but also world content and the gearing with it.

No news on raiding, are you going to drop the 1% focus of mythic and focus on the majority?

Any plans to circumvent the painful M+ grouping? I still see rets and even boomy/feral still getting slammed and either instakicked or not invited to anything 10+.

A oh so slight ‘update’ to Ogrimmar and Stormwind so far…

KSM mount will probably be another whole expansion of the same colours just in different orders.

No word on making PvP balance a more dedicated and separate entity even though they clearly have the means.

Was it just a back burner expansion whilst you focused on the new cash cow mobile game Arclight?

Place your bets. They gonna want £45/£50 minimum for this aren’t they? Don’t forget the super deluxe omega version which includes god awful transmog and a level boost! Maybe even a new mount, bet it’s a reskin dragon.

I bet this expansion will kill it for sure. Just like all the others did. And all the other “WoW killer” MMORPGs. New World is doing pretty amazing I hear

No.

If they focus more on casual progression maybe not i still don’t see a point in legendaries and covenants keep it simple and open the game up to a wider audience of gamers

*ahm, a 1, 2 and a 1, 2, 3 GO!

That’s great, it starts with an earthquake
Gnomes and Trolls, and Tauren Maids
And Anduin is not afraid

Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn
World serves its own needs
Don’t mis-serve your own needs
Speed it up a notch, speed, grunt, no, strength
The mythic ladder starts to clatter
With a fear of new flights, down, height
Wire in a fire, represent the seven gnomes
And a horde council for hire and a battleground site
Left her, wasn’t coming in a hurry
With the Fairies breathing down your neck

Team by team, raiders baffled, trumped, tethered, cropped
Look at that low damage, fine, then
Uh oh, overflow, population, common group
But it’ll do, save yourself, serve yourself
Warcraft serves its own needs, listen to Sylvanas bleed
Tell me with the Rapture and the reverent in the right, right
You vitriolic, allianceholic, slam fight, be one with the light
Feeling pretty psyched

It’s the end of the warcraft as we know it
It’s the end of the Warcraft as we know it
It’s the end of the Warcraft as we know it and buff shadow priests….

Six o’clock, Murlock hour, don’t get caught in mage tower
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn
Lock serves some uniform, book burning, bloodletting
Every motive escalate, Dragonflight incinerate
Light a candle, light a new skin, step down, step down
Watch your heel crush, crush, uh oh
This means no fear, paladin cavalier, renegade and steering clear
A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline….

It’s the end of the world of Warcraft as we know it (I had some time alone)
It’s the end of the world of Warcraft as we know it (I had some time alone)
It’s the end of the world of Warcraft as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)
I feel fine (I feel fine)

I do see some merit in dragonflight, it’s not a feature heavy expansion so far however it does seem to be sort of a soft reset expansion where they attempt to fix a number of issues with the game. However as things are going right now I’m not sure how many people will be there to play it because the servers are just empty. The game seems to be bleeding out at a mighty fast rate right now.

Pretty sure FF is slaying WoW rn and has been for awhile.

Heck even SWTOR and ESO is pumping out better looking content.

Not to be too deep, but in the grand scale of eternity does it matter? It’ll either be good or it won’t.

Worst case scenario we all buy it, it is terrible and we all waste ~€/£50.

Is that really so bad?

I wouldn’t define it as ‘bad’.

More sad if anything that the game can get to such a state in the first place. Appreciate no king rules forever, but when your expansion reveal revolves around a half assed race, a talent tree system like we used to have, then a hefty chunk on a barely revamped UI….weak.

With the cost of living going up if blizzard truly want to make a good gesture and show people they aren’t completely whack this expansion should be free don’t think too many people want to dump 50 quid on an expansion when the past two haven’t been the best, not like they cant afford to give us some free content with thar subscription we all pay

If there’s any cookie cutting to be done, then that’s on the players. The players with the ‘performance first’ mindset. Those are to blame.

Maybe, but having it be baseline is an improvement.

Mmmh… I feel differently. I feel they are putting TOO MUCH effort into this one. Because I personally have no interest in it, so yeah; selfish reasons. But still. I really wouldn’t call it low effort.

Not at all. What we got to see so far already looked amazing. Their ideas sound good.
I’m psyched for the new zones (zones btw; not zone. It’s plural).

Not for everyone, sure, but that’s fine.
It’s not something I’m personally looking forward to either, but meh… It’s fine.

No sign? How about those talent trees you mentioned earlier.
They could be fixing a LOT. We simply don’t know yet.

No he didn’t. They want to bring Renown over. Totally different thing.

There have been numerous interviews where more alt friendly features have been discussed. Heirlooms are never part of the innitial part of an expansion; they’re always added in later; so it makes sense we haven’t heard about those.

False. They’ve said they’d like to curb addons, but that it’s a problematic thing. Because players don’t like it when things are taken away. But it’s definitely on the dev’s minds.

Also false. Chromie time will still be a thing and updated; you can level where you want.

Again false. They’ve made various statements about this - something I’m very glad about.
They’ve made the world content team bigger and they’re aware that ‘the silent majority has not been served well’ and they are doing things to address that.

There will be new raids; so again that’s not ‘no news’.
They don’t focus on mythic, but it’s still something that is prestigious and deserves at least some attention.

Don’t know, don’t care.

That’s for 9.2.5; it’s on the PTR right now.

So?

More false claims. They’ve addressed these things; won’t go into them though since I don’t care.

It is going back to basics. Something a lot of people want.

In short; you are badly informed and are basing all of your claims on your negativity and bias.

You’re basing yours on a lot of ‘saids’.

Cool. Show me the changes or proof. We’ve had saids for ages and no change.

I thought not.

As long as it fits ‘your’ little bubble of WoW all is good. K Ty. Thx. Bye.

WoW’s had so many nailed coffins by now that they started supplying funeral parlors with them.

Blizz are completely whack. They put time gating to keep you subbed even for people who commit to a 6 month sub that is paid up front. Why do they care if me and my crew farm 50k Valor a week?

Regarding the cost of living, people can wait until it is on on sale, I do that with store mounts. The game is most fun in the .5 patches anyway, as you can play at your own pace.

I frequently wait until games are on sale to buy them if I don’t think they are worth full price.

That is indeed a possibility.

Though I despise giving up on it.

Duh.
That’s way more than what you are basing yours on.

We’ll have to wait for beta (maybe alpha) for proof that they’re keeping their word.
Have patience.

You don’t know anything. I don’t think ‘WoW is all good’ at all.
But I at least look at what is being said instead of yelling ‘the sky is falling’ just because I’m negative.
If this is how you feel; don’t buy DF. Bye bye.
