Everyone are faction changing but i’m still keeping my rp characters.
Just everyone with the sheep mentality are faction changing.
No, it is not. It is giving the illusion of being based on that in order to trick you into a tribal idemtity and build a superficial emotional connection. The only two instances in the entire 16 year history of the game when the faction war mattered for the overall plot was the first five minutes of MoP and the first half of BfA. The only instance when it mattered mechanically waa the Dazar’alor raid, and even that was largely just a gimmick.
The faction divide is antiquated, pointless, artificial and flat out prevents people from playing the game together. I have a great pack of friends on Horde but can very seldom play with them because the bulk of my high end play is on a different realm and in Alliance while they are way more casual. I would love to do a low Mythic dung with them from time to time but I can’t because of the antiquated, pointless system.
If you still want to keep this awful faction system, then fine. But AT THE VERY LEAST, there should be a version of Mercenary Mode for raid and dungeon instances. Let me talk to an NPC that gives me a 3hr debuff that switches me to the Horde version of the LFG tool. I can even live with it if you have to temporarily racechange me into a cow or some crap. The technology is there, as evidenced by the Dazar’alor raid. Heck, the faction changing tech in that worked so well that initially there was some trouble using mage portals and hearthstones to Boralus when we were changed.

Something needs to be done for sure. Alliance is a dead faction. Just look at the World First race there is hardly any alliance guilds to be seen

They’re keeping the factions, they stated that many times.
I personally think it’s absurd to wipe out so many years of conflict between Horde and Alliance and pretend that nothing happened, there’s no tensions between them.
All of a sudden you find Talanji giving Jaina a handshake and saying yeah, good work for killing my dad, I really appreciate the favor.
If anything, having this friendly cooperation for the sake of plot feels more forced and unnatural than actually having faction conflicts.
Removing the faction barrier should be done gradually, if it really needs to be done. It needs 3-4 expansions of story development to get to the point where we can say “now we’re really friends”.
Then how come so many allies are trash at this game i litterly was in a m+ group with a noob who woulen’t comunicate and did trash dps and there took the wrong portal in de other side.
Even i an Alliance fan is concidering going horde as i can’t take these braindead noobs anymore.
That single noob is reason to classify all Alliance as trash? You wont be missed with that attitude.
No one is arguing for wiping out the tension between the races.
Perhaps you diden’t read what i wrote then i’ll say it again. There are so many trash allies and many are more then one sorry that your english teacher failed at teaching you that.
I hope they do some kind of time jump at the end of the expansion and use that to completely shake up the factions and old world

Tbh I find it impossible that neither veterans nor new players would even be curious to at least read or watch some of the story. Most RPGs and MMORPGs are played for the story, usually people who are not interested in story play FPS or MOBAs.
Thank you! This will solve so many problems! Server population will not matter anymore for raiding and you will start seeing people play more varied races! It will be so much easier to find a guild and will not need to separate from your friends if you really want to play a different faction char.

Removing factions? No
can keep factions just remove the race restriction on what faction they have to be in, even though I do think factions should be removed, it is an ancient system that doesnt work, and almost never has.

Especially with faction wars, since no faction can ever truly win.
This thread is arguing for having a two faction-system, so we aren’t removing the factions. We rather merge the two we already have and a new second factions of Twilight organisation position themselves while we are in Shadowlands.
