Item level brackets

It’s time when gear matter so much to make people at least to be grouped with nearby ilvls.

Current PvP state is so bad to item level, so this is needed option.

Been saying for years that item levels should be grouped together, the argument was that it would take far longer to get in to BG’s. I’d wait.

Wouldn’t this yield the same end result as scaling / templates!?
(similarly geared players grouped together …but with longer queue times)

In Legion developers have equalized all pvp players with the help of Principles of War if you remember/know.

Ask them why they abandoned this idea?

You’d just get people min/maxing at certain ilvls and blowing people to bits with trinkets and traits that other people dont have.

Plus the queue at top ilvl would be enormous, at least for horde.

This is not going to happen. The goal for Blizzard was to give the opportunity to as much as many pve-players to participate in pvp activities (as a secondary aspect of course). Gear advantage these guys have in random bgs and low brackets arena is therefore necessary…

they abandoned this idea as part of a bigger plan: their purpose was for players to demand gear progression and customization such that at the end the game to be totally subordinated to pve activities. With templates they created a trap in Legion just to get rid of the pvp vendors in the next expansion… With my priest i play every day pvp and cannot acquire gear above 385.

It’s not just about your queue timers.

To be honest I don’t like all the randomness in azerite traits, and when someone stack the right one can outperform other one in PvP, when they are equal in skills.

Now ilvls bring too much stats, how you can be 60-80k when just get up to 120 and with 390ilvl /as mine/ 208k.

In previous expansion:
I like no PvE game with trinkets, now is the step back, when trinkets means a lot and some classes are OP with special one.
I like equalness with Principles of War, you get stats, but for several ilvls, not with each one. If I remember right, was 12 or 10 ivls = 1%.

Now PvP, is PvE mess, with so much randomness and variables, which don’t means skills. You can win, if RNG god is with you

I think if have ilvl brackets some ques can be bigger, but will be more fun to play. Good geared people to meet each others and lesser one to meet equal geared.

Now one character 80k is nothing compared to 200k, will be nice Blizzard to see what is created in PvP and try to balance it.
Ilvl brackets will affect and lovely PREMADE makers, which is good to be achieved.

That’s what an MMORPG is. The guy with the good stuff will just do more. And it should keep being like that. Someone who farmed and did more content than you should have better stuff than you, making him better.

With templates, the player had no control over their stats, trinkets were disabled, etc, so item-level based brackets would be different from templates.

I feel it might be more realistic (from the perspective of queue times) if the matchmaking system aimed for a comparable average level for each team, so that both sides would have well geared and lesser geared players. Then again, I mostly see premades/partial premades and class balance as the bigger concerns in Random BGs.

Pretty much this but a lot of people are in denial that they’re not as good at the game as they think

Cut the crap, you can do good as any class even with trash traits. Especially in random battlegrounds.

You can also win if RNG is against you. Can we please stop using RNG as an excuse.

Yes, it can help. But if you have no clue what you’re doing it won’t make you win. Decent communication and tactics > gear/traits.

Now I don’t really enjoy meeting players with much higher ilvls, but so be it. It’s not like you have no chance. Often enough you notice they’re pure PvE-ers trying out PvP with their awesome gear. They stand no chance…

What about Russians who use cheats and hacks all the time?

They just can’t win otherwise. It’s necessary immediately remove them from the game!

But.

We must save the game!

In term of this, rated PvP have it as self ilvl control.

Ilvl brackets will support non rated BGs. Because things there are random. Now premades kill casual PvP, not because they are so good, but because have heal and ilvl advantage.

As alliance in epic BGs a lot of time we have 2-3 heals versus 7-8, this lead to loose from start. In one we have 13 healers /lucky rare one game/ and because of that, we crush, strong geared german premade, but how much luck of this can we experience, very very rare.

Heal balance fail, when blizzard try it, but ilvl balance will be different, base of people is the same, not oriented to role.

Now good geared premades with healers, just smash casual pvp, there is no fun in this.

I play 1-2h max, not every day. I want to do fun PvP, I don’t get angry to be beaten by teamplay win, but get farmed like 200-300HKs versus 30-40-50 in 40vs40, problem is in advantage of ilvl and heals.

To get back, now PvP is terrible designed to ilvl, previous expansion wasn’t, so this is needed future.
