Item restoration

Back in September friend destroyed an item. he didn’t know is very very good. he got the item from quest. now he want it back but because is green item he can not get it. what can he do? ticket was not successful. so why you cant give it back. is not a drop to farm it. he should be at least able to do the quest again.

better luck next time. You do get a box saying “Are you sure you want to delete this item?” when you delete something. You also have chance to buyback from vendor.
sorry x

he did not know the the value of it back then.

too bad. sorry

No way back from so long ago - your friend made a bad choice - it happens- you can’t expect Blizz to restore that

If it had been in the good old Vanilla days a ticket to a GM would have solved your friend’s problem. But no, no. There’s nothing to do. So sorry.

A GM would not have restored an item discarded 4 months ago during Vanilla

It’s Carrot on a Stick, isn’t it?

“Hey GM I deleted an item MONTHS ago…” No one intended for these items to be obtained outside the quest. It was not intended for the quests to be re-playable. And the game is over 15 years old. Also no idea how far back the logs go but that was almost HALF a year ago.

"The WoW Classic team has been working hard to authentically recapture the original World of Warcraft experience for adventurers old and new . Our approach to Customer Support for WoW Classic is built around upholding the integrity of that experience, while helping you with issues that keep you from playing."

Thought Blizzard wanted to stay true to the authentic experience of original wow but hey I guess customer service isn’t part of that experience… >.>

You can, but they won’t.
They expect you to simply make a new char and get the item again. It only takes like 4 hours to get the max level anyway, right? - Retail GM.

“The WoW Classic team has been working hard to authentically recapture the original World of Warcraft experience"… Unless the Horde has a problem with it.

Why not? 4 days, 14 days or 4 months? A look in the logs and “here you are”, as easy as A B C.
You had to ask a GM to have your items back in Vanilla.

There’re basically no GMs in Classic. Support for all the games is outsourced to some low-paid guys in third-world countries.

It’s sad, but you can’t expect a company to change its ways just so a particular game they release is more authentic.

Yes it’s sad indeed. The very least they could do is be honest with us instead of lying and claiming that the experience will be authentic. At least then we know what we sign up for and have no reason to complain.

@Warecs: Because the records do not go that far back. If I am not entirely mistaken, some logs only go back 30 days, some a couple of weeks and I think some may only last a few days or even less. Four months is simply too long a time…

I don’t remember exactly, but in Vanilla I had items restored … Not only the items; I actually had a whole character restored with all her items I had sold or deleted. And this happened after a fairly long time. Maybe not 4 months, but more than 2. I stopped playing for a time, and upon returning, I was so sad to have deleted my first toon, that I wrote a long, sad letter to a GM. And as a result I had her back in all her glory. She still exists, sitting in Dolanaar (same as all my Retail toons sitting in their starting place.)

@Warecs: Character records (at least for higher level characters) are held longer as names tend to stay reserved 90 days, if I am not mistaken and one would assumably be really unlucky, if one would get backed up between deletion / sale of items and very rapid character deletion after that. So most likely the whole character and inventory would come from a single, older backup of that specific character.

Very positive feedback

Chances are the player ran out of currency and vendor Ed it for food / water

It’s a player choice - a bad one maybe - but they should live with it - like I said - don’t see why it should be restored
