It's 2020, and "Power Word: Shield" looks disgustingly outdated

Yes!
I think there is no shame to reusing that 3D visual which already dates to Wrath I think

Please leave my vertical halo alone. It helps me move quicker than a sleepy snail. It also has a cooldown so can’t offend you all the time. I definitely don’t want one of those 3D bubbles which look as if the person inside is in a fish tank.

Are people honestly bothered by clipping? In WoW of all places?

Oh yeah, a ton nit pick clipping since the original came out. And i always see a bunch of those crawl up over time. Every expansion. Over and over again.

I run WoW from 60 to 100.
It’s not a problem for me.
But still, no, keep the spell a thing.
We don’t need to change every little thing.
Don’t like the class? Don’t play it.

Seconded, PWS needs to be visually distinct as it has its own mechanics involved. And aren’t Divine Aegis & Prydaz shield effect exactly the same visually? Or is one kinda yellowish and the other whiteish? Quite hard to tell the difference on these screens. I seem to remember that Aegis was yellow “fish tank” bubble in Wrath.

Make it an option then like a glyph

Paladin’s Bubble uses Shader effects, others don’t… curious.

It’s as though graphic settings ain’t a thing…

But why? I don’t see any priests complaining in the thread. SPs have a lot to complain about, but our shield isn’t one of them

I could see it being due a facelift to shadow priests. Void form, devouring plague, shadow words and then shiny golden shield of the purest light!

I’m complaining.

Ah screw the long post I made, I just want to have a lovely visual for atonement. I want people to see I have their backs!

Be fair… it’s a DIVINE shield. :joy:

Because it is a really minor issue that I and probably others put in the backburner but since it was brought up it surfaced

Screw the Atonement, I want people to see my PWS on them preventing their deaths by fire in which they’ve foolishly decided to stand! Let there be no uncertainty that they all live at my mercy!

And Prayer of Mending. That annoying “ring-ding-ding” bouncing reactive heal. Hoo boy, was THAT fun to shield people for 1/4 of their HP, put on them a reactive heal for another 1/5, shoot a Penance or two to pump that Aegis up from critical ticks, and watch them never ever die, while being the very brightest and most plagued by ringing sounds spot in the neighborhood.

Yep, this. I may be that cloudy purple figure at the back zapping mobs occasionally, but I have the power to help you live or die when I decide whether to shove a vertical halo round you or not.

Ah, this brings Wrath Borrowed Time to mind, 25% haste after casting PWS. In case of morons standing in fire, click the PWS, then quickly Penance or Flash them before someone more competent in actual healing gets their HP to 100%. And hopefully they learn that standing in fire is bad.

I believe you mean Shadow-specced Priest in Shadow/Voidform, so Shadow Priest can still cast PWS? I’m kinda surprised. Wasn’t it pruned? You know, the whole healing on a hybrid spec thing thanks to which Elemental can’t heal to save its own life, having Reincarnation as “defensive cooldown” instead?

I do mean SP and PWS wasn’t pruned. We did have flash heal & prayer of mending long ago but they were pruned. We just have Shadow Mend now.

Thank you for explanation, I only play Discipline now on my priest and I did notice conspicuous lack of Flash, Mending, Prayer of Healing, Renew that all were there in Wrath, so assumed Shadow also had several “meet the nerf chainsaw” moments. Shadow Mend is kinda like casting Stagger at people and Penance is better DPS tool than healing one. Irony: You can prevent people from dying, but by dealing damage, not by healing.
