Heroic and +15 guilds really dont care about your skill or gear. You can get both (gear and skill) by doing content. Just bring a healthy attitude.
470 wont help you much without azerite, essences and corruptions.

You get invited if you got +430 to mythics witch isn’t hard to get really, I got it in 2 days and my cloak upgraded to 6.
Do epic random battlegrounds, listen for war supplies to drop witch gives you 50-75 conquest witch eventually gives you a 440 weapon. Don’t go into random battlegrounds however, you will only drag down the team.
I have warlock that I had as main a while, he have 444 item level and came into +9 without hardly any rio. It should be enough for a while until you have proven yourself with the rio.
Blizzard doesn’t punish you, it’s you who have been either lazy or have a hard time to understand what is the easist way to level up neck and gear.
Don’t need community or guild even if it helps a lot.

Nope. They think because you got your score as other roles, it means you don’t have essences for the role you’re signing as. You also get people going all “Can you tank?” NO, IF I WANTED TO TANK I WOULD HAVE SIGNED AS TANK.
It is just as well Blizzard faults for not implenenting any kind of protection to prevent this from happening at this scale. If you actually read my post you could have made sense of that yourself.

@ Radium in fact i do not reject lower ilvl players when i’m doing things on my well geared tank and when i know i we can still succeed in whatever content we’re doing. I did +15s with 450 players. Why do you assume so?
@ Nathara it’s a bit hard when your friends have an actual life and can’t help you all the time. I also can’t play all day since i’m married and have a job so to schedule our playtime together is a bit tough. And guilds? Good joke. Try getting invited into a guild with 420 ilvl. I have ZERO issue with any of this when i play my tanks. For DPS its still impossible and trust me if you would see the actual garbage that is happening and how unlucky i am when gearing dps you would not believe your eyes. People don’t even join MY KEY or +0 group when they see i am just 420 ilvl. Let alone me queueing up for other groups. It’s a simple solution to implement some kind of reward for choosing lower ilvl players. Of course i am not asking to be boosted +15, but at least getting into a +2 with my other 450 alt, that would be nice, which is literally not happening. I tried and waited for hours. And if i get into a group it’s people who don’t know any tacts of 2 year old dungeons and therefore wipe and fail the run. This happened to me at least 10 times in the last week and i simply give up trying to gear my dps because it’s literally impossible. LFR is also by far not option. I have yet to encounter a group that actually manages to kill nzoth in LFR. I’ve been to at least 30 LFR with my alts. Not possible. It simply isn’t unless you’re insanely lucky. I’ve been playing this game since cata. I know how to gear up, the problem is none of the known ways of gearing are working for me the slightest, literally the only option right now is to buy boosts which i’m not willing to.
And yes, blizzard is punishing players for other people’s mistakes or expectations because they hold the power to implement systems to prevent it. Everyone is paying to play this game and i’m not accepting anymore that i’m paying for unecessarily wasting hours and hours to get NOTHING. I have far better games to play and if shadowlands does not adress these issues i won’t recommend my friends either to even buy the new expansion as they face these exact same issues if i’m not helping them with my 470 tank to carry them.
It’s a complete joke and the game is far from actually being updated into this decade.
I really just wanted a proper discussion but some people here are clearly unable to understand the real problem here and rather choose to be saracastic and joke about this. I can see why blizzard often won’t listen to people when they downplay and joke about real issues. I feel sorry for the many other people facing this same issue. Just to be clear again. NOBODY is asking to be boosted +15 here. It’s about how the expectations from people are way higher that actual requirements for certain content. This is simply fact, everyone who has geared alts in the last few months has faced this issue, maybe not as bad as me, but there are thousands of people facing this and it’s sad that Blizzard is not doing anything about it. It could be as simple as giving small rewards for inviting lower ilvl players to groups. But as i said i see why blizzard mostly doesn’t care about people’s opinions and suggestions anymore. I wouldn’t either with a community like this. Anyway, i’m out. There’s tons of simply better games without these issues.
Because there is nothing Blizzard can do this player made issue. You would have to pretty much pay me a wow token at least before I even considered allowing some 420 to tag along my +15 and above run. And…thats what pretty much boosting people do anyway?
I really doubt Blizzard can implant a system which gives me a reason to carry a a random stranger ilevel 420 somewhere…

Amazing how players nowadays want everything ready to use.
Gearing an alt? You have:
- WQ.
- Normal/Heroic dungeons.
- LFR.
- M0 and M+.
- Visions.
- Assaults.
- Benthic gear and Assault tokens.
- And this week TW dungeons.
I geared a Warrior from 265 to 365 in less than two hours.
She’s now 442 with less than three days played…
I did my key as DPS, nobody complained about my ilvl (it was 420) or cared about my damage; I invited the first player that queued up.
Then I changed to tank and pushed my key, I got my score from 0 to 541 playing M+ for a few hours and even got a 10.
Basic gearing takes nothing nowadays.

Most guilds are starving for thoughtful, kind and helpful players and don’t give a hoot what ilvl you are or what your progression is 
Consider looking for social dungeon guilds/communities, rather than one that’s already got a solid mythic raid team and doesn’t need more players.

I have 2200 rio atm on priest as healer.
I would not roll a dps and straight que as DPS on 15’s…
You do have to up your rio as dps, why would they trust someone with another spec xp? Makes sense…
Even at 2200 i would first lets say do all 10s in time then start going deeper, afterall i find zero reason to go over 15’s but…Anyways
The issue wasn’t my experience though. They thought I didn’t have essences. Yeah, I’m just going to play a spec without having essences for it. Really.

People were complaining about how easy the game was and now complaining about how hard it is.
Idk What is the problem if you play the game 4-6 hours a day for a week you’ll get 460+ ilvl quickly or even 470+.

Just queue some bgs and do heroic dungeons and you’ll get 445+ ez
…? BGs scale to 425 max. Heroic dungeons are 415.
I love how you skipped that whole part of gearing up like everybody did before you.

You mean you need at least 9~12 levels of your cloak before you can start getting … 445 gear? Vision gear rewards are a joke.
Play with friends, your guild or a community.
You said it’s an alt… Join with your main first.
You’re not being punished for having a low ilvl, you’re not doing the best you can to get higher.
So you’re basically like those people who make a group just to get carried. I’ve seen my fair share of these tactics and I leave asap. I don’t join raid groups to carry someone.
This is where you ask your friends, guild or community to help you kickstart a character.
Do world quests and emissaries. They always give a higher ilvl (with a cap) than your average ilvl, and this cap is way above 420.

As people already stated, you can gear up solo up to a certain point. I beleive having arround 445ilvl gear is doable without stepping into any mythic+. Just do visions, emissary quests, world quests etc.
Also i refuse to beleive that you get declined for every mythic. Most likely you just get disapointed really fast. Apply for any mythic +2 and you will eventually get invited. Unless you aim for a +8 or +10 mythic while you have 400ilvl gear
