Totally doable. I have 445 ilvl and i haven’t even played for 3-4 months and i haven’t been doing any mythics or LFR or such, just world quests, world bosses and few visions (cloak lvl 6 lol).
It doesn’t matter ( I didn’t know that ) but he can do wq,expeditions…mythic dungeons and LFR.

Blizzard NEEDS to stop punishing players for being low ilvl.
You are punishing yourself by not taking advantage of the social aspects of the game. You know, making friends, finding a proper guild, joining a community.
You expect higher ilvl pug players, who don’t know you, to carry you, that’s not going to happen. If i pug and i see 2 players que up, one is 446 the other is 460-470, and i don’t know them, obviously i’m not going to invite the one who is more likely to make the run slower.
The 446 because he’s going to do less damage and there is a bigger chance of him not knowing what to do / the affixes , at least if the 470 has a clue and is not boosted

Nope. They think because you got your score as other roles, it means you don’t have essences for the role you’re signing as. You also get people going all “Can you tank?” NO, IF I WANTED TO TANK I WOULD HAVE SIGNED AS TANK.
People didn’t mind my rio score from playing DPS last patch when I geared my rDruid.

This is where you ask your friends, guild or community to help you kickstart a character.
That should not be the case, I should not absolutely require a bunch of friends to help me kickstart a character. I should be able to slowly gear and climb up just as I did with my main when everyone had the same ilvl. That is the problem, Blizzard gave players every tool they could to do content and start playing properly, people are just abusing it and are going for a line of least resistance.

How am i supposed to gear alts that are dps?
You get accepted nowhere under 460
LFR groups and +0 groups are somehow always people who came back after a 5000 year break and don’t bother reading even the slightest about tactics. (No possibility to do easy content for gear because people are lazy morons expecting to be carried)
People kick you or leave if you don’t do 50k+ dps (so sorry for my 420 alt not being able to do that wow thanks)
Opening my own groups? Sure. It’s totally fun having no one joining you for seeing your low rio and low ilvl on that alt. TOTES.
Find a guild? Sure. I bet guilds are starving for low ilvl chars.
The only option is to literally buy boosts until you’re 470+ i can clearly see why the business of boosts is booming because the game is literally unplayable for low ilvl dps. I’ve wasted easily 20h trying to raise my dps alt chars ilvl and it was simply not possible.
Blizzard NEEDS to stop punishing players for being low ilvl. Something needs to be implemented. How about rewards for groups who take people with lower ilvl? It could be that simple but no. I highly doubt any of devs actually play this game because it hasn’t even arrived in 2010 yet.
i have 13 alts with average itlv of almost 461 that havent done a single normal/hc raid , not a single mythic + , not a single arena match in 8.3 which begs to differ your theory about being unable to gear up
and i play minimum amount on very casual level
moral of this is - you should learn how to optimize what you are doing in this game

That should not be the case, I should not absolutely require a bunch of friends to help me kickstart a character.
It doesn’t require it, it’s a possibility. The alternative is enduring being low ilvl and being restricted to slow gearing because of your ilvl. Nobody is going to carry you along.
mustly it is the ilvl 470 whos the clueless one becourse he bouth boosts u can get up to ilvl 483 simple buying boosts …
Just try to put yourself in their shoes.
Would you take 420ilvl if bunch of 460s apply?
It’s called being effective and gearing fast instead of being lazy and blaming others because you can’t gear
Takes a weekend. A full one. To get from freshly dinged 120 to around 460 doing M+. Sure, you won’t have BiS, and you’ll have a ton of catch up to make, but it’s there.
OR you can come and whine. But it won’t help.
op you are just making excuses, it takes just a few days to get a freshly capped alt to 450ilvl without any major effort.
all these activities are doable and would raise your ilvl:
LFR rewards 430 and MOST bosses die after max 1 wipe, mechanics are forgiving even for people who joins for the first time without knowing them.
hc warfronts reward 470 gear.
visions reward increasing ilvl gear (up to 470 ) and can be soloed.
low m+ keys do not require a rio.
even HC doungeons would probably get you upgrades at that ilvl.
put in some basic effort and you’ll be 460 in no time, stop expecting to be carried and do the content designed for your ilvl.

You get accepted nowhere under 460
Not true, but since there are so many players over ilvl 470 that even apply for lower keys/raids these days you will see your chances be lower than usual as people will also gauge this as a factor for their keys/raids being more successful.

LFR groups and +0 groups are somehow always people who came back after a 5000 year break and don’t bother reading even the slightest about tactics. (No possibility to do easy content for gear because people are lazy morons expecting to be carried)
Or they had a few bad moments, it happens sometimes. Also there is nothing wrong with new or returning players learning dungeons without scouring the internet for tactics or video guides first.
I can imagine what being in a dungeon as a new player would be like with you. No thanks…

People kick you or leave if you don’t do 50k+ dps (so sorry for my 420 alt not being able to do that wow thanks)
Not saying it didn’t happen but I’ve personally never seen that, to me or another player. Context is important for this too. Did they tell you that you were being kicked for this reason? And what level content were you doing where this happened?

Opening my own groups? Sure. It’s totally fun having no one joining you for seeing your low rio and low ilvl on that alt. TOTES.
Rio is flawed either way but not totally useless if the information is used wisely. Usually (unless its a higher key) people aren’t bothered about the RIO of the key holder unless the key holder is significantly under-geared.
Only at certain times does it take a very long time for your own keys to form, and usually that is because you’re waiting for a tank/healer or both.
Listing my own keys has been the most beneficial way for me to progress in M+. I’ve not bothered with raiding as I’m not in a guild (but I should look for one) and pugging is like playing a waiting simulator after each boss.

Find a guild? Sure. I bet guilds are starving for low ilvl chars.
Many guilds are recruiting on all different levels, however what happens after joining a guild is a different story.

The only option is to literally buy boosts until you’re 470+ i can clearly see why the business of boosts is booming because the game is literally unplayable for low ilvl dps. I’ve wasted easily 20h trying to raise my dps alt chars ilvl and it was simply not possible.
No you don’t, I’ve gained my gear (ilvl 473) primarily from listing my own keys and haven’t paid even a copper for anyone to be in my group.
Boosting is booming because laziness is becoming the norm and the boosters are capitalising on it. Yes the spam is annoying but its either leave trade chat or get the badboy addon and block keywords. Blizzard already doesn’t care about the spam because they still make money from it.

Blizzard NEEDS to stop punishing players for being low ilvl. Something needs to be implemented. How about rewards for groups who take people with lower ilvl? It could be that simple but no. I highly doubt any of devs actually play this game because it hasn’t even arrived in 2010 yet.
Blizzard isn’t punishing you for your ilvl, thats more to do with the perception from other players.
Introducing a reward system like this would just be abused even more and could potentially be used to promote boosting. You’re advocating for boosting to benefit yourself but the booster getting a blizzard reward which wouldn’t be much anyway.
Every time I see these posts I think of the hundreds of people I’ve invited to pugs who were lower ilvl than necessary or at the correct ilvl for the content. I don’t like overgearing dungeons, it’s boring.
I’m 100% sure I’m not the only person who does this.

Thats how i geared up the super trash tier Hpriest in 2 weeks to max ilvl in the “LF RDRUID” S3 inside M+
What’s max ilevel? Pretty sure there isn’t one with the infinite neck leveling.

What’s max ilevel? Pretty sure there isn’t one with the infinite neck leveling.
At this point, 480 is not easy to achieve with the max being around 483 or 485(not 100% sure).
The neck wont give you that high ilvl, the loot from 2 last mythic bosses will and those die only by 3% of raider playerbase so…
This game in general alts-unfriendly and pretty painfull for catching up for those who didn’t start in 1 time with others, race “donkey and carrot”. If only ilvl was a problem, i will be happy. There is - cloak, proper azerite traits, corruption, secondary stats and METa classes.

I should not absolutely require a bunch of friends to help me kickstart a character.
It’s not required, its just a faster way. The game already throws normal and heroic raid gear at players for the easiest contents in the game.
- You can create your own groups for Mythic dungeons. They drop 430 loot, you will get a key which you can then use to progress up through. Just progressing M+ keys will give you both gear and experience, allowing you to progress further, each week you get a cache.
Darkshore Heroic - Never been declined on any alts, 100% guaranteed 400 + 460 item. Stromguard giving a 430.
Timewalking/Mythic dungeon weekly - Giving normal/heroic raid item
Dungeon world quests - Can be done on normal (which can be solo’d easily) and gives an ilvl430 mythic dungeon item.
PVP Conquest - Takes barely any effort to get 500 conquest a week, then you get a hand in for an item of your choice + a weekly cache.
Visions - Self progression in this will take you up to ilvl 470. By the time you’re doing 5 masks you will easily get a 470, 465, 460, 455 item every week
World bosses - Once per week, 445 ilvl.
World Quest Emissary - Regularly gives 445(450) Azerite, weapons, trinkets, rings, armor.
LFR - You turn up and go through the motions, chance of ilvl 440 loot per boss.
If you’re ilvl 420 on your alt you should not be invited, because that means you’ve barely even done any solo gearing… Just mentioning ilvl 420 alts not being able to do 50k dps gives me the impression you think people should be happy to carry your woefully undergeared character.
