… I have to wonder how much do i hate myself to come to the wow forums and waste my time reading first world, unimportant complaints 24/7 from people whose life clearly revolves around nothing but wow.
Seriously though, get a hobby or something. I can’t recommend this game to any of my friends because i am ashamed of this community, and my wife literally asked the other day if the forums are only filled with this kind of negativity all the time, when she saw me scrolling through.
If you hate this game so much, do yourself a favor and just please stop playing.
It depends if people should stop playing or not.
People who don’t provide any positive, constructive feedback in their posts and don’t want to play the game anymore… yeah, they should play something else for a bit atleast or just go out.
People who are upset with some changes, decisions made by Blizzard BUT want the game to be great and play the game should be able to voice their opinions and concerns on the forums. It all depends how it’s written.
People who say “vavava Blizzurd bad, i refunddd, wow ded” should simply leave but Blizzard cannot listen to that all…and when Blizzard looks at the forums and see those kind of posts they think the majority of the community is like that…no wonder they don’t communicate here at all.
People who actually care and provide feedbacks, report bugs, form thoughtful opinions and ideas are absolutely great and productive to the game’s development and we all have to admit that Blizzard is SUPER good with those people in terms of communications. Every person who is known for their testing betas and such all say the same, Blizzard is really good in communicating right now.
People on these forums are like siblings, we complain at each other, get elitist on each other, but by god you attack our community will come down on you like a crashing wave, if you speak poorly of our community. I love our community!
One thing this community has in common is we are all passionate about WoW!
People love to complain on the forums. People who enjoy the game are busy playing. The people who don’t enjoy the game (but used to) usually come to the forums to vent.
Also not all negative posts are bad. Or maybe rather, constructive criticism/complaining about certain things actually does get Blizzard to fix them.
Like Blizzard choosing for Covenants to not work outside of Shadowlands got them patching the beta pretty darn fast.
The complaints are indeed unimportant when considering the larger problems of the world IRL. However, this is the place to voice our unimportant complaints, because they’re about this game, an inherently unimportant thing.
It’s a WoW forum. It makes sense that WoW is what we’re talking about here. I have other interests, but on a forum dedicated to World of Warcraft I prefer talking about y’know, World of Warcraft.
I have a hobby. It’s called World of Warcraft.
This one’s fair. People generally come on here to complain, people who are happy with the game rarely post about how happy they are, they just silently enjoy it instead.
This leads to negativity being dispoportionally represented.
Yeah, some people take it personally when Blizzard nerfs their spec/class. I’ve been guilty of it too in the past. Nothing worse than when you’re enjoying something and someone comes along and goes “No more!”.
I know it’s not personal but when you play the game for so many years you do get attached to the characters/specs you play. And no one wants to hear a nerf about their class, or a rework when they were content with what they were playing to begin with.
If blizzard didn’t type the hotfixes, we would never notice
My dps of choice has always been marksman hunter & affliction warlock, considered the ‘‘trash, useless on the bottom of the dps meter’’ this entire expansion
Welllll… no. Most MMORPG developers know that the forum community makes up a tiny fraction of their player base. A big one like Blizzard most certainly is aware of that. Forum users are a loud minority. Not one you should ignore, certainly, but not one you should take as the sole avenue of input either.
