In the end I went to Milan by train and it was amazing!! So glad I did it. It was a great day and I found an adorable mid-19th Century Flemish painting. I already saw it last year but I wasn’t sure, it’s crazy that it was still there waiting for me! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Just got back. It was a Faction Event, so only about 150 people there including the ‘bad guys’, but usually a couple of Thousand or so, This particular one was on a Scout Site just outside of Doncaster, but they tend to run in differing sites in the UK (Though other countries have big LARP fest systems too, I know people who have been to Drachenfest in Germany and raved about it)

As for too old, Pshaw! Even if age or circumstance slow you down, there is still plenty to do. I can’t fight anymore, Brittle Bone disease and all that, but I have great fun with the magical game, the diplomatic side, being a general ‘know it all’ type sage and so on. One fest system I play at, there is a great grandfather and mother, a grandfather and mother, father and mother, and now two of -their- kids running around… Big business these days, it’s not running around in the local forest wearing your mums curtains as a cloak anymore like when I started 30 years back!

Give it a whirl, it is the best fun you can have with your clothes on!
