Do you have tested it? Why mob like this despawn after 3 seconds? Do any one in Blizzard developing team have even play computer games?
I believe it has a very short window of opportunity to catch after the first person throws their lasso at it.
Thats why it is stupid idea, you need to drop lasso and you need camp for mobâŚ
I quite like it. We rarely get 100% mounts nowadays that you can just camp once for. Had to wait around three and a half hours for mine. Met some nice people who were also camping there.

Whahahahaha
Yeah I had to camp for it. So do you. If you want it, you gotta do what it takes to get it. Itâs just a cosmetic thing. You donât need it.
doesnt mean its good design
I spend 14 hours and he spawn 4 timesâŚ
Nope, it doesnât mean itâs good design at all.
So just turn around and walk away from it.
I could understand if you were frustrated because you had to get it in order to compete or get invited into groups and enjoy the game, but you donât.
I used this macro, camped the spawn point and got mine first try (I guess I was lucky). A friend had to have two goes as he wasnât fast enough the first time.

I will wait for him again when I will take holiday next year. I donât like playing with other players 90% who I meet are idiots.
bad ideas and BfA? nahhhh you must be making stuff up
Why is it a bad idea? i got this mount aswell and was fairly easy, what problems did you encounter?
It doesnât respect the playerâs time.
Thatâs a common problem with WoWâs design in many aspects.
âLetâs make a rare mount!â
âSure, awesome idea!â
âHow about we put a respawn timer on it to reinforce its rarity?â
âSounds great! How long should the respawn time be?â
âHow about an hour? That sounds reasonable, doesnât it?â
âLetâs make it 3 then.â
In my opinion Blizzard too often asks the player to spend more time on something than the gameplay supports.
Is it fun to stand around waiting for 2-3 hours? No.
So either the designers should make it fun for the player to wait around by having enjoyable gameplay to support the wait time, or they simply shouldnât ask the player to spend so much time on something if itâs not designed to be a fun activity in the first place. Thatâs not good game design.
So the problem isnât with the mechanic of acquisition, itâs just that the respawn is too long? Iâm also farily sure there are a lot of mounts with a far longer spawn cooldown.
Design-wise theyâre two sides of the same coin.
All Iâm saying is that Blizzard have made a gameplay activity that essentially revolves around waiting for a long time.
From a game design perspective, thatâs hardly something that anyone will praise as being a good idea.
Getting this mount has given me so much anxiety. Yesterday evening, waited an hour in a big group, the second I look somewhere else, it spawns and disappears before I get to use the lasso. Yeah, not the best with the spamming macro. Didnât even see it among the other players.
I have better things to do than sit 3h to camp a 5 sec spawn (for which I need random drop item begin with). I likely end up deleting that item as its waste of my inventory space.
Thatâs definitely a huge issue with WoW right now.
But this really is an activity that you donât have to do. Itâs one you do if youâve got some time to burn.
I literally watched a movie while waiting for it. Just stood in one spot and waited for it to fly near me while spamming a macro. Used my browserâs picture-in-picture mode.
Is it engaging gameplay? No, not particularly. But thereâs plenty of engaging gameplay around that you can pursue if this particular activity bores you. Again, you donât have to do this one to compete in anything.
Rares shoud have short resp and low drop rate, or long resp and high drop rate.
Tbh this is not the first rare mount with big resp time.
I got it on the third Day after i got the lasso.
Just make a macro.
