Jmorph yay or nay?

I was just wondering. Been hearing about a lot of people using Jmorph to change the appearence of their character, but never got confirmed answer on whatever or not its bannable. Anyone who could bring me some insight on the topic?

i would hazard a guess it is bannable or at the very least subject to a severe slap on the wrist. I for one wouldn’t risk it.

Also whenever i see or hear morph written anywhere…

If it’s anything like TMorph, the answer is no.

Edit: Souldefieler… Morph was the best… Loved that little guy.

If you want to risk your account getting permanently banned, feel free to use it.

You might risk losing your account, however if you do decide to use such software it’s best to not tell anyone. People have been banned because they streamed or told someone they used the software. Keep it low profile.

Altering the data files or in-game data with external programs (outside of WTF), in any way, is bannable. If an addon can’t do it, then you should not try to do it.

So, a big big NAY.

Very bannable

OP you would be very silly to use it .

Sure go ahead and use it… what’s that account mean to you anyway?

You can just start all over again on a fresh account after years right? :unamused:

If you’re desperate enough to change files in your game so that you look better in-game while nobody else can see it, I think it’s time to play a single player game with better looks and graphics than WoW.

Rule of thumb, “if you gotta ask, its bannable” xD

arent you only allowed to alter sound files? everything else is a no-no iirc.

They even locked the sound files down.

Which is annoying, because their new sound effects for feral are physically painful. So much so that ferals are not underpowered but there are like 40 of them above 2.2k in arena. And 880 destruction warlocks.

They’re still not underpowered! Just feel awful to play because of the sounds.

As for jMorph, it’s bannable. People have been banned for it in the past. I believe they got the ban lifted due to the innocuous nature of what they were doing with it, but Blizzard said they wouldn’t be this lenient next time.

That means: They know how to detect jMorph, they have done so in the past, and they will ban you.

So no, don’t do it.

Here is a link to thread from 21 days ago with a lot of good replies.

You can use the teeny tiny hard to spot magnifying glass in the top right corner to search for topics on the forum if you want to. Took me embarrassingly long to find it :'D

Jmorph isn’t allowed. The way it alters your game files, nothing says it couldn’t alter things that affect gameplay: Size of herb nodes for visibility, as an example.

(edit: A wrong word, was thinking of magnifying glass not hourglass XD)

Any modifications that alter the client are bannable; there was a case in the recent past**. The main reason this is a bannable offense is because it can alter models, therefore make the game easier for some players, thus giving them an unfair, third-party advantage.

You can use it, sure. But you are at risk of being banned. Even higher risk if you actually advertise it. I personally advocate against it.

**
As far as I know a lot of people got banned because they used mods that altered their client (to be specific, 6 month bans; some were appealed and reverted though, as it seemed to target a much, much higher audience than those that used it for vile intents)

oh dang, didnt know that, thanks!

Not sure if Blizzard’s stance on character “morph” mods has changed on not, but in the past, streamers such as Cdew have openly used it on stream and never been punished for it.

If a blizzcon champion has used it and never been banned… I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Its bannable, they don’t support it–but its something they don’t seem to ban people over cause they likely cant prove it? This is cause software like tmorph/jmorph only change things on your end of the game, nobody elses. So it still makes it bannable yes since it can still give you a “advantage” over other players.

Personally I think a lot of these recent “My friend was banned for no reason” threads are down to these programs, and no they are not addons.

Oh, they can detect it as it alters the games memory. There was a banwave about early Mayish?

Pretty sure the answer was given last time.

No it’s not allowed.
