Radier IO must be one of the most stupid addon ever.
Why do you need to be/use Radier IO just to join a guild.
First they surely said that I can join their raids and M+ but then why do I need Radier IO?
I joined the guild to have fun and to play with guildies.
This game is for everyone and not only for hardcore raiders.
So the best thing Blizzard can do is to ban Radier IO!
I will never ever use it.
When/if I make groups I will invite people who asking to join because as I said this game is for everyone.

It sounds like you came across a hardcore guild, maybe you could try looking for a more casual friendly guild? I mean I understand some don’t like Raider IO.
But if there wasn’t Raider IO people would look for different ways to sort out bad/inexperienced players (people checked armory or inspected applicants in-game when inviting, before Raider IO existed.)
It will always be something to make sure runs go as smooth as possible, which is why hardcore players use it, especially when running high lvl keys. So if it’s not Raider IO, it would be Armory check etc.
Best thing you can do is form your own group/guild or look for more casual friendly guild.

How is this the addons fault?
You could have found out more about the guild before you joined them and made an informed choice. But noooo, blame an addon.
Are you for real?

The thing is that people are using raider IO because they want to get some security that they will manage to do higher dungeons in time. So maybe that could be a reason why they asked you for your score. I think how you should ask your new guildies to help you with your keys and to offer you some guide regarding the m+ content. If you joined a proper guild the people there will be willing to do that.

First when I joined he/she said that they will run M+ with me and then after 30 min or so he/she ask for Raider IO.
I just said that I am not using it.

Just join another guild if you don’t like it.

I dunno. Back in the day you had applications to guilds through websites and the such. And you had people inspect you and all that.
If you’re applying for a social rank I find it weird. If however you want to raid and it’s a semi serious guild I don’t see the issue. Perhaps, obviously, you have a different outlook on the game.

I could be wrong, but this sounds like you got real excited to push some harder content than you’re used to then got angry the offer didn’t pan out

I’ve been asked many bizarre things applying for a guild, never the measure of my raider e-number though. You sure you were applying to a guild and not the pug fiesta of m+?

This probably needs some context. It is very likely that when you are doing +3 keys they maybe are not taking you through their pushing keys because you have no experience in that at all. This has nothing to do with raiderio.
They could have been asking just to get a gauge on your experience - not to judge you by it or anything like that. In my guild, we’ve recently had a lot of new people join and we’re happy to run keys with them, but there’s little point taking someone who’s really undergeared and inexperienced along to a high key - it won’t be a fun experience for them. None of us use raider.io but we do ask about ilvl and what keys they’ve done quickly before organising a run. We’ll never say “oh no, that’s not good enough, we won’t run with you” but we might choose a lower key or switch to alts so that we can bring armour classes who could share gear with a less geared member. So the guildies might be asking for perfectly legitimate reasons, and not because they’re being elitist.

Leave that guild. And you are right, game is for everyone, not just for people that already have skills.

They asked you because they have to know if they can count on your skills ? sounds like a legitimate question ?
You should have probablly state your intentions and proper communicate with the one who invited you in the guild on why are u joining their guild ?
And yet here you are blaming . raider , and giving directives that blizz should ban raider ?!?

Bit daft yeah, but people play different ways.
The next thing to do is find another guild that doesn’t have this system.
Man…these casuals expecting people to welcome people with open arms like they’re entitled to high end content.

To be fair, guilds are supposed to train you if you have to get to high end content.
I understand if you invite a nobody without gear or fundamental raiding skills and intuitive experience of “get off the fire!”, then yes. But thats why you have a skill check by a Raid Officer where they interview you and put you on a Target Dummy then take you to Raid as a trial member to learn the tactics.
But
How are they supposed to get experience without experience???
:thonk:

They probably would happily help in lower keys. It is not that strange they do not take someone without experience on pushing runs.
Thats why trial members are benched for the progression raid nights.
But being refused in to a guild, has two scenarios:
- The player who wanted to join has no absolute experience in raiding and needs to learn the basics.
- The guild is not as described and probably is a hardcore guild.

then again the proper question should have been, what is the highest key you done, not what raider io score you have, becuse someone could be extreamly good on a few dungeons, and then have problems on others.
I would have left that guild in a heartbeat, my self, becuse raider io should only matter if you pug and that is even questionable at times.
