Joyous Journeys – Summer XP Buff Event

I get it, instead of a 50% xp buff for the whole summer, they’re going to give us a 100% xp buff for what remains.

There is still 6 or 9 weeks of summer left, depending on which way you go for Summer ending. Also the buff is called Joyous Journeys buff not the summer buff. Pedantic I know but true, they also never said if it would end in summer or Autumn (Fall).

I expect it the week after the consolidation, so the 17th August.

Yeah, but the title says “Summer XP Buff Event” quite clearly.

In addition:

So everyone who wanted to level an alt has been postponing it so they don’t feel silly, but that was 4 weeks ago. (Imagine buying something at full price when it turns out ‘tommorow’ you get 50% off, of course you’d be waiting.) Now, it’s just mean

Gib!

Does it mention on which day it will start or even end? I think it will start in about 4 weeks, either the week of the consolidation or the week after.

It is called the summer buff so the obvious thing is it ending on 21st September, I know there are two end dates for summer but that would be 2 weeks of the buff and a month of the pre-patch, with the buff starting on the 10th of August.

I have to agree but they need to test the beta, which only started a few weeks ago.

That’s a bit of generalisation, I’ve two friends leveling alts right now. Of course they are waiting for the buff to hit the servers, but they do quest now. Also, I’m currently doing remaining quests for the upcoming Loremaster achievement, and man- there are so many players enjoying the game in the Barrens! I honestly don’t know if I’ve seen so many when I first leveld this char.

Imagine that alt could be level 50 in 4 weeks of lazy leveling.

It’s about the effective use of time. As time is the most valuable thing any of us has.
Isn’t it better to spend 2 weeks of lazy leveling to hit 50 and use the remaining time to whatever else?

Well, yes, if You playing the game isn’t fun for You, then probably it is not the best use of Your time.

Well I leveled Horde priest on our region PvP realm to lvl 68 in case our small PvE realm dies and got full t3 except for boots (what troll needs boots anyway?). But I could have had waiting for above mentioned exp buff doing nothing and then start leveling few wekks before prepatch only to find out that I wouldn’t get done leveling to 60 in time. Rven if would play more and managed to get 60, there would be insane competition for the from thouse who awakened at very last moment before prepatch.

That depends. Does one want to play a character now or not?
With that logic, may as well just start playing LK when ICC comes out as it will take less time overall to gear up and go through all the content.

I agree that if someone wants to play a certain class rn, then it makes no sense to wait. BUT I believe that there is a significant amount of people (including me) who just wants to prepare an alt for Wotlk… and in this particular case, I don’t really want to spend more time than necessary.

Prepare in term just hit 68…70 or have some honor for arena weapons, some gear from t6+ for fast leveling?

They announced this a month ago, you could have leveled 3 characters during that time.

Its like waiting 50 min for the buss instead of taking a 5 min walk, but also in the main time calling their support line and asking when the buss is coming. “So you dont feel silly”, min/maxing made monkeys out of people :monkey:

To begin with, not everyone can play 7 hours a day or similar to level up so many characters, at least did you take into account the end - game? or even raise without “boost” system? why upload 3 characters in 1 month unless you are an expert seems quite complicated to me.

I’m not going to waste a week raising my mage from level 61 to 70 so that just when I finish they put the buff and it takes half, or less.

People have mostly stopped playing because of the buffo to be able to upload not just 1, but multiple characters.

I hope they stop making you dizzy and don’t take long to give an answer because lately blizzard is only making us dizzy.

Or you could finish your mage now and use full potential of bonus exp buff duration for another character.

3 characters from 1 to 70 within a single month is completely unrealistic even for a teenager with unlimited time. Unless u count GDKP runs, then maybe.

I recently leveled an alt together with a friend and just leveling from 60 to 70 took us 3 weeks playing approximately 4 hours a day. And we know the quests perfectly/use addons.

So the XP buff is well needed. It will save way more than just “5 minutes” lol.

I mean, by the time you level it up - the buff will be available… but then you could be leveling another alt etc instead?
I’d understand, if you didn’t want to level an alt from scratch… but you’ll be waiting longer to level that mage for the xp buff than leveling normally.

Kioha is min/maxing it to a point where you will have to wait for a pee longer than 16 sec for a reply, wouldnt want to waste time typing and not doing anything else … like a fool.
