Just a quick question about levelling to 15 on Horde on SoM

How long do you think it would take to get to level 15 on a horde the quickest?

I’m open to any class and any race but it has to be a PvE realm. I have a certain recipe that sells really well on the Alliance side on a PvE realm and but it’s only available on the horde side and don’t want to compete with the farming bots on Wrath for mats to sell for gold.

I figure the 100% boost will make it quicker.

I have tried to level a Rogue on the Alliance side and am at just under 2 hours to get to 9, but that includes a few side trips to Ironforge.

I know people will say pick a class you like but I am not bothered about that I just want to do it as quickly as possible and with the gear you get from levelling and as I haven’t levelled much in SoM I’m out of touch of which is the quickest.

I keep a spreadsheet of all my chars with levelling times (nerdy, I know  ) - for SOM the levelling times are between 5 and 7 hours played (no rested bonus involved - a total of 10 characters levelled), with a holy priest being the fastest (get a wand at level 5!) and a shaman close by - Druid being slowest by far.
I haven’t levelled a Hunter, Lock or Rogue, so no times for those.

I was thinking about Priest but getting a wand at level 5 may sound easy but this is SoM, when I looked there aren’t any for sale. The AH had two pages of stuff and none were level 5 wands so I would need to farm greens to disenchant to make them. Even getting enchanting to level 10 would not be easy.

The first one would need to not be a priest to make it easier to get to 15 and level enchanting for the wands.

I think hunter would be good once you reach 10, same with lock. I’d discounted Druids because until you get cat form at 20 they are clunky and slow.

I would be speed levelling with no side trips anywhere, just getting to 15 asap. I would prefer a Tauren, Orc or Troll class as the thing I want is in the barrens.

Indeed, but the time up to 10 is very slow.
Warrior and Mage is a good option too, althought you might need a little luck getting a good weapon for your warrior.

if i took from durotar → tiris → silverpine then its probs quicker.

Zabra say shaman.

You can cast and melee, heal and use two handers, one handers + shields and cloth and leather. Covers most bases.

Also, rockbiter is really good at low levels. Big damage.

I think I’ll start with a troll shaman, then maybe an undead mage.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Edit: I just hope I get to move them to the right wrath PvE realm. I got to 50 minutes and level 7.5.

btw, there are 10 people online on Kingsfall.

I think I know which recipe you’re referring to! It’s dropped a couple of times for me.

Shaman is indeed very strong in early levels, as Zabra says. Stoneskin totem (I’ve gone blank on the name, but I think that’s it) is very strong at least in the starter zone, and Earth Shock is a very reliable interrupt.

I know you mentioned Mage - but if you happen to go for Warlock, I’d go Undead - the Voidwalker quest is a lot easier, if memory serves.

So far I have a rogue 9, mage 6 and warrior 7, I’m skipping between them to stop the boredom and by far the easiest was warrior, I’m sure that will change at 10. I’ll probably try all classes except Druid, not a fan at low levels.

The recipe is not a drop but a quest reward for Horde only and it’s not the healing potion one. If it was a drop I would farm on a level 35 hunter I have on the right realm but it’s a one time reward at 15.

I already have quite a lot of the item you need to complete it and can get cooking to the right level easily now.

on horde you can buy wands in UC . no equivalent on Alli ?

Yes you can but 2 things, the cheapest is 29 silver and it’s level required is 15, the level I want to reach. I am playing on the Horde side. Classic SoM has the hour delayed mail too.

Also the enchanting ones are powerful for their level 5 (10 ench) and 13 (70 ench).

I’m kind of hoping a shadow wand drops from a mob.

what is happening at level 15

I can get a recipe that sells for a lot.

i am very intrigued and i understand you will not disclose which one it is. i would comment that if it is for ERA, there i found very limited value of gold (i.e. stuff you can buy with it, outside pvp) and if it is for WotlK - are you sure it is a lot ? those lvl80 quests pay off well you know …

I have sold 3 recently for between 1500 and 2000g in Wrath on a full realm. I know it doesn’t sounds like a lot but it’s far easier than farming mats with all the competition.
