I think a cross realm LFG would be a solution to low pop and high pop servers.
Just look at the state of Gehannas right now. The lag is really bad. The queue is bad.
Cross realm RDF would make it worth my while transering to Mograine.
As it is right now. I wont transfer to Mograine.
Why should I?
Why transfer to a soon to be dead server.
I have paid for enough char transfers already.
cross-realm rdf is highly unlikely. Its not the RDF thats the problem, but cross-realm. Cross-realm brings to much anonymity which lets people behave without any consequenses.
Sigh… If only blizzard was a company that actually gave consequenses to such behavior… Maby they do all this to make sure Classic dont exceed Retail? Just a conspiracy theory.
And which way is Classic? I feel like the one-sided mega-servers are just as bad as retail with its cross-server sharding. Personally I’m playing on Hydraxian Waterlords (dead server spared from termination due to it’s RP tag), but I realize I’m in a very, very small minority. If I was forced to move to a mega-server I’d likely quit the game. They seem soulless. But they are what “the majority” wants.
No, it’s all the same game design philosophy. Fast, random, cross server, boring content, where the game devs thought, that only raids matter, and the rest is just for casual collectors, who wanna see the story. Mmorpgs without a soul: Basically retail, and alot of other mmos on the market, that also have rdf
They added RDF cause it was no longer novel to pretend a game was just a giant chat room so they had to actually focus on gameplay rather than making the chat channels the gameplay.
Every single MMO on the market had to do something akin to it cause guess what, it stopped being 2004. You suddenly had other ways to interact with people online so it stopped being the great experience it was back when the game launched.
Each and every other feature you mentioned on that list has nothing to do with this whatsoever.
Hell, I scoff at the concept that you call transmog convenience.
Okay, so you’re saying games shouldn’t adapt whatsoever to the situation of the world?
No, it’s not.
Retail has no soul cause they’ve made some incredible bad decisions over the years such as ruining the world we grew up with, streamlining talents to a point where you only have 6 and killing quirky and fun specs, homogenizing classes to the point where it doesn’t matter what you play, adding paragon type levels through artifacts and covenants and whatever the hell have you, adding farmville through the garrison and so on and so forth.
You can repeat “no” 1000 times, but blizzard agrees with it, and with things like that, they always ask OG devs, who probably also agreed, that this was cataclysm game design
I don’t like RDF now, before I did, but this Group Finder is top notch. Seriously this is making the game funnier and actually you play the game like supposed to.
Negative on RDF.
P.S. offtopic - I am serious about it, you can check my Negative against Blizzard in my last topic about Thekal Queue. This way you can know I speak the Truth about Group Finder and not trying to sabotage your ideas like some shills here. I actually think Group Finder Rocks.
Subscriber counts kept going up despite the “GAME KILLING RDF” being added to the game, it never dropped till Cataclysm did.
RDF isn’t even used on retail.
You’re the one demanding changes to the original concept of the game, why in the hell are you doing that AND telling me to play something else? Why don’t you?
