Just admit that Ion Hazzikostas was right

No issues not having flight through the story.

But have issues with not having flight until you have grinded 3 months of content.

Rather there is a tiny community that hates difficult yet accessible content. Can’t let plebs do hard stuff.

I think having flying at the start is more geared towards hardcore players, who wanna rush to the end and start endgame, if you think about it logically. I’m against flying at the start, because it shortens the discovery and exploration phase of the game significantly. I’d actually like leveling to be a long journey through a cloudy mysterious map. I don’t like that I can immediately zoom around everywhere. However, I also think enemies are way too weak. I never died once so far, and wasn’t even close to dying, because all the mobs don’t do any damage, and I kill them in a few seconds. I like to play Diablo 4, and even in Diablo 4 the world is more threatening than in wow.

I have actually died!

I did pull 10 mobs in an elite area and managed to defeat it the second time, and I was level 80, but it is actually, technically, possible.

Technically.

Think you replied to wrong comment? Or i ignored too much context…

That comment was more about how the difficult stuff of the game is tied up in instances oft requiring pre-made groups rather than having some more accessible and free for all, like queueable content.

Flying, again i get why they aren’t too keen on instantly giving it. But then they tend to slap excessive requirements to unlock it.

Yay for murder!

Well I mean they just added content to the world that’s supposed to be challenging yet accessible to solo players!

They are called delves, and the first thing they do is disable flying mounts.

Imagine if Delves had flying mounts. They would have been ruined instantly. You’d just fly to the last platform, kill the boss, and leave.

I do get why delves don’t have flying.

Hm, from google i can see that delve puts you one tier from max.

Yes, Flying just completely invalidated teh entire point of the zone. I have no problem with flying in and of itself, but i have a big problem with flying invalidating hundreds or even thousands of hours of labor and love put into designing a zone with an interesting concept that would have probably be fun to actually engage with but can just be completely bypassed at the press of a button.

The proper solution here would have IMO been to allow people to fly around Azj’kahet as a whole, but if fyling over the CoT for more than 10 secs (similar to the wingshredder debuff from teh Dragonbane keep event) , you get dismounted and teleported to the nearest entrance and must proceed on foot /ground mount.

Completed the campaign and unlocked pathfinder? Congratulations, now you can fly over the city of threads. But at least you saw the zone and the concept once properly any can now choose to engage with it, instead of it not even being something you registered until someone told you 2 days later that all the mobs there “should” actually be attacking you on sight but your pheromones are what keep them at bay.

I mean,. they already have a zone in Azj’Kahet where you can´t mount up at all, so it´s clearly within the realm of technical feasibility. But by enabling us to just fly over and never engage with the CoT zone itself, they basically invalidated all the development time put into the entire zone, incl the weaver /general /vizier pacts…why progress to unlock new pheromones and be all stealthy when you´re out of range of anything but a Patriot missile launcher to begin with?

I dislike these comments.

Simply put : Here is the situation right now… Options…

You want to dash with flying mount ? Go for it !
You want to explore and spy on foot ? Go for it !
You want to steady flight ? Go for it !

You are free to take any options you want ! And change your mind at any moment. Every one of them has advantages and disadvantages. Whatever you like more.

VS… How it was before : No options.

Oh… so you don’t want to walk for 20 minutes… AGAIN… for the nth time for the nth quest ? TOO BAD sucker… get moving !

Its a satire to expose the following …

  • You think Flying before exploring is bad ? Fair. Dont do it and explore. Nobody stops you from doing it. Especially not other people with flying mounts.

Therefore I ask this question : why do we have to force YOUR point of view on to others ?

Every time they have done that it’s been nothing but infuriating.

I disagree. It´s merely a lore-accurate way to enforce a no fly zone.

And specifically in the case of AK /CoT, by the time you get there you´re what, an hour at most away from finishing the campaign, anyway? Ehrmagerd, I gotta walk around this place for a whole hour?

Also, 10 seconds is more than enough time to realize that you shouldn´t be flying and turn around, and is actually enough top fully traverse over teh entire zone to p to bottom to get to the raid entrance… There´s also nothing saying you can´t mount up again and make a beeline out. But of yourse just like over dragonbane or the zaquali cauldron, everybody has to act like it doesn´t apply to them and rage when exactly what the screen filling yellow text is promising actually happens.

Oh no, I am about to be found out by 3 guards approaching from all sides! They will beat me to a pulp or throw me out of the city during my most important work!

Fortunately…

I am a dragon!! :dragon:

fly away, leaving the guards none the wiser. After all, a panda turning into a dragon and flying away in a city of spiders is perfectly normal

It is up to the players choice to keep things immersive or efficient.

I think though that Blizzard on their part could add some flying hazzards in the enemy strongholds to make things more interesting (but also make it so the players can disable them by choice).

@Ishayo
Neo did it already

:rofl::beers:

That said, the guards might hear you fly away and see a brown streak in teh sky (whether that´s just them not being able to focus the dragon or actually the panda’s last meal is up to everyone´s imagination), but as nearsighted as they are if they could see you it wouldn´t be until you´re actually taking damage from being bumped by their glasses :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m happy flying is a thing from start - questing and outdoor zones are EXTREMELY dull and annoying and I don’t really care more than “finish main campaing and side stories” and go to the actual gameplay (Endgame content).

Sorry if i am going to disappoint you, but i don’t posses any supernatural power which can to force others to do my will.

Warlords pathfinding PTSD intensifies

Yeeeah… no thanks
Never again
I absolutely LOVE flying, to be free and explore

By the way, just I find that strange every fly-hater forgot to mention “as a protest and to show the way I only use ground mounts?”
I wonder why…
hmm…

Does feel silly just skipping everything, exploration and navigating is just completely gone… like going up to an area with a Rare or Treasure.

Flying should be achievable on release, but only after doing Pathfinder tbh [not time gated].

Who’s forcing you to use the flying mount?
